Comfortable, accurate heart rate, & good audio

I've bought a couple of these devices so far (one for me and one as a gift#. I must say that I'm superbly impressed with them. To date, I've evaluated numerous optical heart rate monitors, and I am especially fond of companies that use PerformTek as the basis for their heart rate monitoring, as I've found this technology to be by far the most accurate and reliable. Several companies have been using PerformTek in their earbuds, and at least one company #Scosche# has used it in their arm bands. But I must say that when it comes to earbuds using PerformTek, Jabra got it right. I'm quite impressed with what Jabra brought to the table with this product -- incredible European engineering in audio, ergonomics and user experience. Also, they made sure that this biometric sports headset works with not only their own native app #which is surprisingly quite good# but also with leading mobile fitness apps #such as MapMyFitness, Runkeeper, Endomondo, Strava, etc.#. Likes: 1) Jabra's ergonomics are quite impressive -- especially considering that they needed to find a way to fit in the heart rate sensor into the earbuds while still having it be comfortable and have good audio. Also, they have several options for ear gels, and they even provide a "fit test" on the mobile app so that you can see which ear gels work best on your ear. 2) Audio quality -- fantastic. 3) Size & weight -- this is the most sophisticated, high-compact sports computer I've ever tested. Jabra packs a lot of power in these lightweight, tiny earbuds. 4# Mobile app -- I have an iPhone, and so I can't speak to the Android implementation. But so far, I've had not a single app crash testing with Jabra's app or anyone else's app paired with the device. Jabra's native app #which is not required for you to use since their device works with all the apps# is surprisingly good as it has a number of built-in fitness tests and a cool feature that allows you to setup your own workout with voice prompts. 5) Extra features -- Jabra added a button on the left earbud that, when you press it, tells you your instant heart rate, cadence and what ever other metric you program it to state. Also, the charge port is hidden in the right earbud. 6) Phone call feature -- I've found that the microphone is quite good and convenient for phone calls. In fact, sometimes I just leave the headset on me post exercise and use the headset as my phone. Dislikes: 1) Cable -- the cable is quite nice, but I do wish it moved more freely over my shirt. 2) Color -- I'd prefer a sportier color, but I understand that this their 1st product. 3) Really, I'm struggling for dislikes, as this is an amazing feat of engineering by Jabra. Bottom line: The Sport Pulse is the most sophisticated, comfortable, accurate and easy-to-use audio sports computer ever developed. If you like to exercise listening to music, and if you like tracking your heart rate zones, you'll love this product: good audio, great comfort and fit and supremely accurate continuous heart rate monitoring.

All I can say is wow. The only reason why I purchased these was because I had to return my Lebron PowerBeats 2. They would consistently disconnect while working out or just listening to music. I purchased the 2 year warranty on them and when I went to exchange them the Customer Service person said that I could exchange them for the same ones but they do not offer the 2 year extended warranty anymore. "Too many returns"... So I had to find an equivalent valued blue tooth headphones and I found these. I knew jabra had goo blue tooth headsets for calling but wasnt sure how good they were for music which is what I use these mainly for. Sound quality is fantastic and phone calls are clear as a whistle. Oh and these also have the heart rate monitor and work out trainer App which works flawlessly. One thing I did not like about the Powerbeats 2 was that they were not noise canceling and used a hook around the ear to keep them from falling out or moving while working out. These use an in ear hook which comes in different size. There was one that fit my ears perfect. I can work out without these budging and best of all is these are noise cancelling. I also ride a motorcycle and these work great since they do not have the outer ear hooks so I can wear my helmet and listen to my music and answer calls while riding. My only gripe would be I wish they were good for 8 hours of listening to music instead of 4.5 hours

Where do I begin.... When I bought these, I was on the hunt for some great headphones that would last and not die on me. So I had done no research on any up to the time of my purchase. But I did spend about 1 hour in the headphones aisle until I settled on the Jabras. I already had a smart watch (until I bought these headphones). I found it extremely useful to have the fitness features (distance count, cadence, HR monitor, and music etc) in the headphones and app. The app is extremely simplistic and attractive as well as EASY to use and figure out. I tested the Jabra HR feature against my smart watch and I found that it was accurate; what a relief. Then that part of me was leaning towards the buyer's remorse. But I am over that feeling now, and I am more than happy with my purchase. I love that I can tap a button on the headphones to start my work-out, double tap to call last called, the battery life is great, and the sound quality is great for the bluetooth technology. I've heard decent (sound quality) bluetooth headphones, but these are great... And I love that now my wrist is free from a device during my workout. I feel like I gained some motion back? Any who, these are worth the money. They come with a sturdy case to carry them in as well....

I have been using this headset for several months now and enjoy it, but can't say I love them. I bought it for the ease of having the integrated heart rate sensor and automatic data readout, both great features. However, I still need a mobile phone to synch it with for GPS, app and data storage and wearing a phone on your arm isn't nearly as natural as a watch. Integrate a medical-quality HR sensor into a watch along with GPS and synch to bluetooth headphones, like these, that perform readout from the app, and you're golden. So, while these headphones perform their job well, they are short-lived. The Jabra sports app doesn't let you log into a website and see your data, and its export to other apps is limited. You can use this app with Runtastic and a few other services, however some functions are missing, such as the automatic readout. The bluetooth tends to disconnect from the phone a couple of times every 120 seconds or so, and if you don't tie back the connecting wire on the back of your neck, the slapping of the wire creates a banging noise in your ears that can be annoying. Overall, I'm happy with these headphones, but only until the perfect running watch comes out (the Garmin Fenix 4 with built-in HR sensor), then I'll just use them as bluetooth running headphones.

I had a Jabra Wireless Earbud Headphone before and I was very happy with them. Actually they have lasted me for years, so I thought to finally upgrade to these for when I am working out, so I can monitor my Heart Rate and maybe motivate myself to go further !!! Unfortunately these earbuds broke after wearing them once !!!! and I was not even working out!!! I just wore them casually to get familiar with them and see how they feel. I have to say that these are very comfortable and I wore them all day without any discomfort. The sound quality was as expected, and the battery life was good. The only issue I had is that the next day when I tried to turn them on again after charging them over night, the button that turns them on and off broke !!!!! AFTER 1 DAY of use. Maybe its just my luck with a defective product or maybe they don't make them like they used to !!!!! I do not know that answer. I will be returning them back to the store today....NOT sure what I am going to get instead !!!!

The sport plus headphone are pretty sweet. They do exactly what they claim to do. Being an athlete, i love to keep track of my heart rate to get the actual burned calorie amount. You can also press a button that tells you what your heart rate is at, how many miles your at, and the time which is pretty neat. Pros: detects your heart rate accurately, looks pretty stylish, and i like the app that syncs with it. (is very easy to use.) Cons: Sound quality. The only thing i really dont like about these headphones is that the sound quality is terrible. They have the same quality of the apple headphones that come with an iphone. When im running, i want to hear the deep base that other headphones can produce. They also hurt your ear after an hour of working out (when you take them out or adjust them) Other than that, i would recommend them for those who love to workout. However for weight training, i think the lack of quality in sound becomes apparent.

Weak Bluetooth, Fall Out, & Not for Windows Phone

I returned mine for the following reasons: - Bluetooth: The BT connectivity skipped when my phone was on my left arm (the earbud BT receiver is under the right earbud). I had to wear my phone on my right arm to get skip-free music. - Fall Out: The earbuds came out when I turned my head to look for traffic. I couldn't get them to stay in although they were comfortable. (See full explanation below.) - WP Support: The heartrate monitoring function was not recognized by any of the "supported apps" on Windows Phone. Fall Out Explanation: Most comments will claim that the earbuds falling out is just because you used the wrong size of gels. I tried every combination of ear gels (16 combinations in all) and had the same issue with all of them. The issue is that when you begin to sweat the cord that runs behind your neck grips your neck when you turn your head. This pulls the bottom of the earbud back which is how they're designed to come out. This happened in both configurations for tying the cord behind my neck even if I left the cord fairly loose.

After going through a couple Bose ear buds (due to faulty mic) I decided to try these bluetooth earbuds and I have to say they are the worst headphones I've tried. First, you need to download an app just to be able to connect them to your phone. Next, the sound quality is HORRIBLE, especially when the price is close to $200!!! I tried to adjust the EQ on my phone settings and didn't really do much for the sound quality. But they do have another app you can download, this app has another EQ setting where you can adjust the sound....yea it helped but not much at all. Lastly, after wearing them for an hour workout they just hurt my ear canal! Oh and I forgot I did try out the headphones with a phone call and that was even worse (muffled and static through the whole call) Only good thing about these headphones is they are bluetooth....yea whatever. Bottomline if you want overpriced headphones and don't care about sound quality these are for you. If not than stay away!

    Great fitness/music combo headset

I know there are "better sound quality" headsets, but first of all, if the customer is using the headset while doing physical/cardio activities, having a "better sound quality" headset might not be what one wants due to the better sealing of the headset to ear canal surface area; thus hard to hear any outside background noises that might help alert the customer of dangerous situations. Using this headset, the sound quality suffers a little due to hearing background (outside) noise, but still sounds good. And the fact that you can obtain your heart rate at any time is awesome, especially for the cardio enthusiasts. Kind of a give and take situation for these headphone set. If I needed a headphone set that I can use in the gym or outside for cardio or physical exercises, this is an awesome headphone brand set. If I am using a headphone set to hear great sound quality (tremble/clarity/bass,ect), and dont mind not hearing outside background noise, them I would choose another headset brand.

I couldn't be more disappointed with these headphones. They were big, uncomfortable and the sound quality was ok at best. Im not sure what the great reviews are about. I had issues with both of the apps operating smoothly and to top it off, the heart rate sensor was constantly falling out of place even after following the fitment guide. When that happens you are constantly reminded until it finds your heart rate again. So even as earbuds they failed because of the voice telling you it can't find your heart rate. You can probably turn the heart rate off but then whats the point of these buds. Needs a lot of work. Bluebuds have been my favorite bluetooth buds for years and I've tried them all. Mine broke so I gave these a shot. I returned them after 2 workouts and got the same bluebirds I had before. Get the bluebuds on sale and a cheap fit bit.

Third pair of Jabra in 3 months. First purchase was the Rox, had connectivity challenges and were uncomfortable in the ear. Returned and thought I was upgrading for the Sport Pulse. First pair of Pulse stopped workings during a mountain bike ride with in two weeks of purchase. Did not take a charge. Returned for a second pair. Had a great fit in my ear and was enjoying the App with heart rate monitor. I am an avid mountain biker and hit the gym 4 days a week. These ear phones just do not hold up to the hype. Jabra has a great concept, hopefully they can over come these challenges. If you choose to purchase the Jabra purchase Best Buys 2 years insurance. Returning my second pair of Sports Pulse after 4 weeks of exchange. This time the ear buds indicates full charge with a green led but it does not turn on.

I went wireless to run on a treadmill. I have knocked my phone off the base before because the wires just got all tangled up. I switched to Bluetooth a couple of years ago but never really got the experience I was looking for. These are perfect. You can tighten the cord so it doesn't dangle and dance. They fit tightly in your ear so their is no need to adjust. I can also lay down to do weight training without losing these. The app is great. I have used it to track my fitness outdoors and record using the gps as well as establish the right cadence so it tracks pretty close even on the treadmill. Only negative is the calorie count is way off. You will find that comment on the Jabra website as well. It is about half the calories the my fitness app calculates as well as what my treadmill calculates. The sound settings are great as well - these sound like high end headphones as well.

First off, these are a great concept. The heart rate monitoring seemed to be accurate. The sound was good. I personally need ear hooks, but these fit well as long as I wasn't too active or sweaty. The blue tooth connection was great. Works with popular apps. I track my workouts with Runkeeper and yes, it's compatible. BUT..all these pros mean nothing if the headphones don't work. Lasted me less than a week. After a decent cardio session the ear buds cut out. Thought it was because I forgot to charge them but instead it was due to the headphones entering into an endless cycle of shutting themselves on and off and not pairing with my phone. Used them for a couple more workouts with similar results. For the price and all the claims of up to military specs, I took off an extra star. If you're serious about your workouts, don't bother. If all you ever muster is a slight sweat, these may work well for you.

First off let me say that I didn't want them at first of course I wanted the beats. But there is no comparison to these when it comes to what you get besides quality sound, which they kinda suck in comparison. They tell you how far you ran, heat rate, stays in your ear, how many calories you burn, what area of intensity u are in, map of area u ran or walked GPS the area and give u a map and show which part/area you intensified your workout. You can tweet or FB your results and take a memorable picture and save your results. You gets lots of battery life, these are fn awesome!!!!! I have taken my workouts to whole new level with these. So yeah, the Beats are for music and these are for working out and knowing what, where and how to train & what heart rate to maximize.... Love em!!!!! Love them!!!!

I used these headphones for my gym sessions. When the product was working, it was outstanding. Lost heart rate once or twice during a hard workout, tops, and almost never lost bluetooth, even though I would walk halfway across the gym to pick up new weights. The app is fun, as it will show you a graph of your heart rate, cadence, etc. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star is the fact that yesterday morning, only six weeks after purchase, the product will not turn on and is unresponsive. When charging, I simply get a solid red light and no function. Left to charge for a day, still nothing. Jabra has been silent in their customer service, as well. Hoping to be able to get them fixed so I can bring this back to a five star review.

Good: Connects to phone via Bluetooth fast Good sound quality after having gone online and downloaded the latest headphone drivers (actually not very hard to do) Stay in the ear very well (when running and exercising) So far the hear rate works fairly well Bad: Battery life 3-4 hrs (usually can get 2.5 workouts in on a charge) Sound quality was bad until did driver update (or at least it seemed like) Was hard to get the buds to say in at first ( there are ears that come out of the buds that you have to put underneath your ear, once you do that they stay in very well) Overall: Get them is my recommendation, however make sure the get the geek squad protection with them just in case (go it on mine). Well worth the money for the heart rate feature. Probably the "best bang for your buck" Bluetooth workout headphones.

I have been using this product for a month and it works perfectly. Much better than using a chest strap heart monitor. The sound when playing music is decent and the earbuds stay in place unlike the other product that had problems with. I however don't like the Jabra sport app that is used with this product. The app keeps loosing the heart rate and that too in the middle of the run. This happens particularly when i wear a hoodie or something to cover my head and face as i run early in the mornings. But the Strava app that i also use for my runs still keeps the connection to the earbuds. You cannot edit the activity too once it is done. And the apps keeps warning me that the data has been corrupted and closes the app. This happens overtime i use the app. It works perfectly when i open it the second time. Except for the app, the earbuds are an excellent product.

Despite these coming with a variety of sizes and ear wings to fit into your ears, no configuration really worked. They're also rather bulky so you can't count on jamming them into your ears to make a seal. I have to use a headband to secure the headphones into my ears for running or any activity. The heart rate monitor feature doesn't work most of the time, again possibly related to the poor fit, so don't count on that if this is a must have feature for you. The placement of the buttons is awkward and makes it difficult to turn them on and off. The only good thing is they do hold up to sweat as that was the challenge I had with other products I purchased that did fit well. The sound is fine. Would probably sound better if they fit in my ears. Regret this purchase but I suppose there's no good way to determine if ear buds fit prior to purchasing.

The earbuds take a little getting used to- they are definitely a snug fit. I find it easiest to rotate them back and forth until they are well-seated in my ear. Pairing wasn't seamless, but wasn't too bad either. It took a minute or two of fussing with it. The heart rate performs pretty well compared to a chest strap. The app is generally pretty and the getting started process was pleasant. The in-run app was a little annoying with the breathy voice for pace and heart rate info. By the end of my run, I just wanted her to "spit it out already!" The GPS pace was way off, but I think the distance was right. Fortunately the weaknesses of the product are with the app and could be fixed with updates. The price is a bit steep for the features, but overall a good product.

These are everything you want in a pair of Bluetooth headphones. The sounds is of a pleasant quality and the volume is great for others like myself that work in noisy environments. I had a one other pair that survived being ran over by a vehicle in a parking lot(glued the pieces back together and they worked like day 1) and dropped in a hot tub(let dry for a few hours; no damage). My only issue is the lack of a mini potato chip clip to clip the cord to the back collar of my shirt. Having this would make a game changing experience for me as the cord will try to grab my neck when I turn my head pulling at one of the buds. Also, I usually only have one ear bud in so the loose one will weigh down and pull at the bud in my ear.
