Not as good as previous model
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I also own an older 300 watt hour Jackery which turns out to be much better than this new and I assumed improved model. For the same load, this new model drains much faster. There is also a blinking light inside the housing that is annoying at night and shines through the ventilation. DC charging appears to be limited to 28 watts as I've not seen higher, so a pain to charge off my solar system. For those with household AC, it does charge faster. I wish I could turn off the Bluetooth and wifi icons as I have no uae for these. Disappointed. I'll try to sell it for half what I paid.

$300 -one time phone charger. Junk
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A useless brick- picked it up from Best buy with 28% charge, charged it up to 90%, left it sitting inside a perfect regulated indoor temperature for 2 days, went to use it and it was at 1% and nothing would turn on now it won't charge or anything and gives an error code of an internal battery failure. Worst timing possible had to change all my plans- jackery support is garbage. Now I know the brand to absolutely not go near Jackery. Next on to Eco Flo and bluetti.

Don't buy at Best Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could give a zero, I would. Not for the product, but for Best Buy. If something you buy doesn't work out, you now only have 2 weeks to return or request a price match. Unless, of course, you buy their membership. Then you get 60 days. Total fail on the customer experience side. They've now been successful at alienating long-time loyal customers who previously liked shopping at their stores. No more. I'm done and cancelling my Best Buy Credit Card. There are plenty of retailers out there who would love to accept my money for purchases.

Not happy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I still have my first jackery 300 explorer and this new 300 I purchased can not compare to my old one. They are both 300, but my older model 2 USBs 2 ACs and a 12v with cover on it, easy display and it doesn't turn off while my very low watt fairy lights are connected. This new one will not stay on if the watts being used are low. I don't understand why.

A little box with lots of power!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love to fly my drone and do it for a hobby as well as professionally. The problem was I was always running out of battery power before I wanted to be done shooting. Instead of buying a bunch more batteries, I figured why not get one of these portable power stations to charge my batteries on the go and then I will never miss a beat! Right out of the box you can tell the build quality on these is extremely solid. They definitely don’t cut corners and have safety and quality in mind. It’s a tank, and I am sure it could be bouncing around in my car, getting some dirt on it and it would still work perfectly! I am pretty certain I will be using this for many years to come! It came to me with about a 40% charge and it took me a little over an hour to get it fully charged back up. So I would bet from totally dead it would only take 2-3 hours to get it fully charged. On the front of the unit there is a cigarette lighter port, 3 USB ports (2 of them are USB-C) and a regular power outlet. There is also a really bright flashlight that will run off the battery as well. When you power it up the display will come on and give you the percentage the main battery is charged and then also will give you the input and output wattage as well. You can also connect this to an app on your phone to get more valuable information about the unit. Now lets get into what’s really important, the performance! I have a high end drone that takes pretty big batteries. I was very skeptical that this thing would be able to charge them as fast as I can when I plug my charger into a regular outlet. Boy was I wrong, they charged just as fast! Now if I only have 3 batteries with me, I can have 2 on the charger when I am using one in the drone and get a LOT more time to be out flying without having to be near my homes power outlet. Just for fun I tried plugging some other things into it to see how long they would run. First I tried my 65” TV. I was surprised that this battery was able to run the TV for a little over an hour! Then I plugged in just a regular box type fan and that was using basically 10% battery per hour. So if you had a power outage overnight, you could still have a fan on to keep you cool and keep your phone charging at the same time! There is also an optional solar panel you can get to plug in to the unit if you are out in the wilderness camping or something and you don’t have access to an outlet to charge it. Overall, I was extremely impressed with this little box. Its smaller than a lunchbox, but packs a powerful punch! I would highly recommend it if you are looking for some portable power!

Posted .Dear Customer,
Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about the inconvenience you’ve experienced.
The Explorer 300 Plus is designed to work seamlessly with Jackery’s solar panels, but in some cases, an adapter may be required depending on the panel model. We apologize if this information wasn’t clearly communicated at the time of purchase. As for the charging issue, this is certainly not the experience we want for our customers. We’d love to learn more and help resolve the problem.

Performs Well But Needs More Hardware To Be Great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never owned any Jackery products before, but I was extremely interested in the Explorer 300 Plus Portable Power Solar Generator. Living in a hurricane area, there could be instances where having a solar generator could be useful. Even if I never used it for that, I could use it for camping or other times when the power may be out for a while. I found the product worked well, but it did not quite live up to everything I hoped. Straight off the top, the biggest issue was calling it a solar generator. While that is technically true, it would be more correct to call it solar generator ready. It will work fine, but you will need to purchase solar panels to truly make it a solar generator. Without it, you will need to plug in to an AC outlet to charge. This is fine unless the reason you need the generator is that you have no power to begin with. That being said, the unit itself is a very sturdy design. It has a built-in fold-down handle which makes it easy to carry with you. It weighs less than 10 pounds so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue taking it with you while camping. It is only about 6 inches x 9 inches x 7 inches making it fairly small. But you will need to charge it fully before you take it with you. To get a full charge from 0 power takes about 2 hours plugged in. The outputs are adequate. The system comes with several outputs including a cigarette lighter style output, a USB-A 15 W output, an AC 120V output and 2 USB-C outputs. I would have liked to have had another USB-A output, but this is workable. There is also a built-in light on the generator. The light is powerful enough to light up an area if needed. The light also doubles as an emergency beacon. It will flash three short bursts followed by three long bursts and repeat. This could be helpful if someone was looking for you. The unit is rated at 288Wh of power. Depending on the type of equipment you hook up to it will determine how long you will get on a charge. If you do take it camping, you should easily be able to charge your phone, charge a drone, maybe hook up a portable projector, or even use a laptop for a bit. It is not going to run a bunch of high-power use appliances though. And if you do not have the solar panel attachment, whatever power you take with you is all you will get. There is a companion app that allows you to hook up your smartphone to monitor how much power is still available and manage some other power settings. I thought the app did well with what it was supposed to do. In the end, I felt like I really wanted the solar panel to make this complete. All said, the system works great. It is a portable unit that will work great if camping for a night or two at most. But at home, I will just plug up my devices while I have power. If an emergency were to come, this generator will not last long without a solar panel. This limits the use to tailgating at football games and short camping trips. These are great causes, and this will work great for that. I do recommend this device for these situations, but I must point out what is missing in case you want more.

Everyone should have one!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To begin, this is not my first Jackery. I have two other older ones. They are all awesome and I really believe everyone should have one. It’s the kind of thing you don’t realize you need until you need it. This new Explorer 300 Plus is a modest upgrade to earlier models. The display is much nicer and easier to read. Also, it provides more information. Once it’s fully charged, it seems to go forever. Much of the advertising points out its outdoor use for camping and such. And it is indeed very handy for that. But I think this is a great device to keep ready to go at home for power outages. Its handy for use in locations where you might need occasional power usage but don’t want to run and extension cable. With a household plug and usb (and usb-c) it’s uses at home are endless. This new version can now be connected to your phone by Bluetooth and Wi-fi with the Jackery app. I must admit, I was a bit puzzled as to why I would need to use this app. But, it is handy to be able to check the remaining charge and how much of a power draw your connected devices are pulling. Not to mention you can control the insanely bright built in light from the app as well. The 300 is small enough to take anywhere, and powerful enough for more than you realize. And keep in mind that Jackery is a great name in portable power. Highly recommended!

Nice portable charger
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Jackery Explorer 300 is a nice light weight charging station. Mine does not have a solar panel for charging but if you were camping, this is something that you would need to add. It has AC output,USB A output, two USB -C Outputs, Car port, AC input , DC input. When mine arrived, I saw the instructions for downloading the app. I wasn’t sure why you needed an app since during a power outage, my cell phone won’t work & I don’t have WiFi. Or if you were camping in a remote place , you wouldn’t have WiFi. But I guess the app is good for when you are charging at home & are too lazy to get off the couch to check the charging activity. I finally found the manual & that made more sense This device would be nice for when you need to power electric tools in the yard or if you were in a remote location. It would be good during power outages to charge your cell phone. It is portable enough that you could carry it in your car. Mine did not come with the adapter to charge in your car but that is an add on that would be handy. Once charged, I am not sure how long it holds the charge since power outages can be unpredictable.

Portable power when and where you need it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Jackery Explorer 300 is a portable battery pack that can provide power to charge your technology and power small electrical items when you have experienced power outages or emergencies. We are outdoor people, My family spends time camping, boating and traveling as much as possible, but my teenage kids think they have to have their music and phones at their fingertips at all times. This Jackery Explorer has come to the rescue more than once. When fully charged, this unit can provide about 288 wh of extra power to charge those devices you can't or think you can't live without. We keep this unit charged using the included power cord so it is available is there everis a power interruption or some other issue that backup power is needed. There are two USB C outputs and one USB A output on this particular unit. There is also an AC output that can provide up to 300 watts of power. This isn't enough to operate power tools, but it is certainly enough to power radios and to charge phones and laptops with their charging blocks. There are a number of safety features like low temperature and high temperature shutoff and the LCD display gives you all the information you need to track what is going on with the Jackery and how much power is being used and how much is left. The Jackery has the ability to stay charged using the available solar panels. You can buy these separately, but if you spend time away from civilization, you should go ahead and buy the kit that includes the solar panels. I don't have the panels, so I can't say how efficient they are, but if I had it to do over, I would have bought the unit with them just to have that as an option. I find this to be a great unit and a great buy! It is something that we use often when we are away from home and something everyone needs to think about now that we use our phones to stay up to date on what is going on in the world.

Heavy + Should Come With Solar Panels
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the first things you notice about the Jackery Explorer 300+ solar generator is the weight. While it comes with a hefty handle, and the body in and of itself seems rugged enough to toss in the back of your truck for a long weekend of camping, the weight is equivalent to a fully stocked cooler. Inside the box are the solar generator itself, a USB-C connector cable to connect to the solar panels - which are not included - and an orange cord used to connect the generator to AC power as well. I want to re-state that incase you missed it: the solar panels are not included on this version. The only way to charge it unless you purchase the solar panels is to plug it directly into AC power. The stand-alone 100W solar panels cost as much as the generator itself, so plan accordingly. You could probably use any regular extension cord to connect the generator to power to charge it, You’d probably want to stick to the device cords themselves. There is no case or bag, or way to attach the cables beyond the ports themselves, so that may be the next item on your wish list to procure if this solar generator is on your radar. You may also want to make it a padded bag as these are lithium ion batteries, and unnecessary jostling is probably to be avoided. The box itself has inch-thick padding so I suppose you could use the cardboard box as a case for as long as it survives. Along the same lines, the manual points out that you will not want to have the solar generator exposed to direct sunlight, as the temperature fluctuations would be detrimental to the battery's health. The three-year warranty on device is a nice plus, and like most utilitarian things, it comes with a few extra ports which you will probably never use. The flashlight being a good example, with the device’s weight you will be unlikely to want to use it as a flashlight. The inclusion of a single USB-A port, and two USB-C ports, one capable of input or output charging, a car adapter, and an AC 120V output are all good considerations. The display tells you how long until full charge is reached on the generator, percentage of the battery, and how much output you’re using and how long it will last. So far on a single AC charge (which took 1.3 hours from 30%) the battery was able to charge my iPhone, my MacBook Pro, and a few other devices and had significant power left over. The app itself was pretty interesting and also tracks power usage and charging status. All in all: this thing is heavy and unwieldy, unsuitable for hiking long distances with it... and most of the imagery rightfully shows a support vehicle nearby. Unless you need an additional unit, skip this particular product and go for the one that includes the solar panels.
