so i picked this up today. the white looks so perfect with all of my idevices since my iPhone,iPod,iPad are all white. the sound is out of this world. you get the true full features of what the song/movie/whatever you use it for should sound like. the fact that you can play pause and skip right from the jam box is fantastic and all the options you get and will get in the future are fantastic. my one dislike is the power cord i wish they had used the same one as the smaller jam box with the folding plug and the usb option

    Great Sound, Small Footprint

I hung a 20"ish tv and wanted a sound bar for my wife's office. There weren't many options that were small enough to fit. I have a chromecast on the tv so bluetooth isn't really needed but its a nice bonus. I got a good looking cheap shelf at Lowes and couldn't be happier. Great sound without the need of a sub! Happy wife happy life!

Just love this speaker! Sounds just as good as our $1000 Stereo System we own. Pairing to any bluetooth devices very simple. I've paired it to my IPad and IPhone. All I got say is don't turn it up to load outside unless you want your neighbors to complain! Unless they like loud music! I love bringing it outside on my patio. Had some friends over and they couldn't believe how good the bass sounded and the clarity. They all want to go buy one now!!!! It takes about 2.5hours to fully charge. And the charge last about 12hours or longer! Pricey, but worth every bit! Does not come with a case, that sells for $50. Can't wait to bring it on our camping trip

    Just. Wow.

I impulse-bought the Jawbone's Big Jam box to go with my Surface Pro, reviewed elsewhere on this sight. It was Bluetooth, which I needed, I recognized the company, and the style wowed me. I got the red, which would not look out of place on the set of a David Lynch movie. The heaviness gives a solid feel that bespeaks confidence and authority. It is eye-catching, but almost retro. (Also available in other colors, including boring white, plus you can buy custom kits to make it blend with your décor or reflect your favorite color.# it fits easily just about anywhere. Being wireless, you're likely to use it just about everywhere. After a two and a half hour charge-up, you're ready for setup. It was easy, except I had to download a Bluetooth update for my Surface Pro. #It would recognize the device and pair, but not connect.# I found a link from the support discussion boards. An update program is installed which, besides getting everything up and running, let's you change the "personality" of your Big Jambox's voice, which is an important element to the user interface. Now you probably want to know how it sounds. The Bear is from an era when decent stereophonic sound involved large woofers, tweeters, lots of power from an amp, and a spaghetti bowl of wires. My Big Jambox gives sound as good as I remember, from a single, wireless, battery-powered device slightly larger than a brick. How? Obviously, through sorcery. Oh, they may claim it is some kind of whiz bang acoustic technology, but I cannot believe it. Only sorcery could produce sound like that from something so small. Now I'm playing Tusk by Fleetwood Mac. Cranked to the max, it will not blow out the windows, but is as loud as I would want to play it. The sound is crisp with the separate elements of the texture picked out. It has a "live" room-filling sound with excellent mid-range and high sound, and an adequate bass. #It may be sorcery, but it is small, so you can't expect a huge thumpin' bass.# Now a Bach fugue. Here I have to turn it down. Sounds great. Close my eyes, and I can almost imagine I have a pipe organ in my living room. Now Little Lion Man by Mumford and Sons. It really sounds good, and again, the "live" sound making up for the mediocre acoustics in the average living room. For me, Big Jambox is my home music system, The lack of seismic bass is made up for by overall great sound quality, convenience and style. In addition to Bluetooth, you can connect through the mini #headphone# jack. It has a standard USB cable for when it needs to communicate with your computer #e.g. setup#. There's a power cord, too. #Expect 10+ hours actual use on battery. This makes battery use a non-issue. Big Jam box will courteously notify you when you are approaching the need for a recharge.# Everything is included, as one should expect for $299. Big Jambox is just one of those things that is a pleasure to own, because it is obvious how much attention was lavished on the design. Great sound, impressive style, portable, easy to use, wireless and fun. This easily gets five stars across the board.

This is my first sound system purchase as I would normally listen to music off of my laptop or on the radio. I decided to upgrade when I had a nice accumulation of rewards credit. I listen to the radio daily for news and I can hear it all over my apartment in the morning when getting ready. Listening to music on here is incredible. I was debating between this and the Beats Pill but I listen to mostly rock, folk, metal and related genres with very little pop or hip hop and the Beats Pill was extremely basey. The Jambox sound is much better for the type of music I listen to. I also plugged it into my TV last night to watch a movie and it was awesome. Very little complaints so far but I only have it for about a month or two so we'll see how long it lasts for. My only complaints is that it would be great if it came with a remote because when I tried changing the volume on my TV it wouldn't change on the Jambox so I had to get up and do it manually on the box. I also wish that it would give you a warning when your battery is running low so you can plug it in before it immediately dying on you. Otherwise I'm so glad I upgraded!

    Fantastic Bluetooth speaker

    Posted .

I had owned the Bose SoundLink for just over a month, but returned it and bought the Jawbone - Big Jambox instead (thanks Best Buy for your generous return policy). There are plenty of online reviews comparing the two - the price is identical and they are both Bluetooth speakers. Which sounds better? That's a toss-up. Some say the Bose (better bass), some say the Jambox (better treble). For most people it's too close to call, if my experience is any indication. And since the price is the same, it comes down to features and design. I returned the Bose because I realized it was lacking in features compared to the Jambox. I'm so glad I did. I love being able to pause and skip from the unit instead of from my iPhone. The battery life is also better by several hours, and I prefer the design of the Jambox. Plus you can have two devices paired at once (though they can't, of course, simultaneously play). And the Jambox gives voice alerts ("The Jambox is fully charged" for example). Both of these units are great, but for features and design, the Jambox is the obvious choice.

    LOVE IT!!!

    Posted .

I originally had the first Jambox and I loved it, except it wasn't as loud as I thought it would be. When I got the e-mail about the release of the new Big Jambox, I immediately had to get it. Purchased it online and received it today and was amazed. Sound and clarity of the music was AMAZING compared to some of the wireless speakers. Live Audio function was also great to get more of a surround sound feeling! I was debating whether to get this or the Bose Soundlink, but decided to go with the Big Jambox because of the live audio and also the ability to have two way communication just in case you were to receive a phone call. Overall satisfied with the purchase!

    Get the Big Jawbone Jambox!

    Posted .

I listened to a few different speakers in the store after doing extensive online research including the smaller Jambox, the JBL flip, the Bose Soundlink the Beats Pill and the Big Jambox. Since I did NOT want to spend $300.00 on a bluetooth speaker and was hoping for something more portable, I purchased the JBL flip for only $100.00. I was happy about my purchase until I got it home, paired it up with my cell phone, walked only 8 to 10 feet from the speaker and it started cutting out on me. If you are going to keep the Flip right next to or very close your audio source, it is a really nice, clear sounding speaker. From what I read online, I was not alone with my bluetooth connection problem. Upon returning the Flip, I re-considered the smaller Jambox, but the sound was muddy at higher volumes. I also looked at the Logitech Mini Boombox and the Jabra Solemate, which was enticing with it's cool little outdoor speaker bag included and rugged, portable design. Unfortunately, neither were loud enough for my needs. My salesperson suggested going with the BIg Jambox and I am very glad I did. The Big Jambox totally rocks and the live audio mode is simply superb sounding, at least to my ears. It also has a nice balanced sound, not too much treble or bass, but enough bass to sound good. When I got it home, I paired it up easily, with no bluetooth issues. Works with my Android phone, IPad Mini and Macbook Pro. I was so surprised at the distances I could go away from it that I even went on to my back porch with the speaker, shut the sliding glass door and left my phone inside with the excellent results. Bottom line, get this speaker if you can afford it. Sure, it's not the most portable one of the bunch, but it exudes quality, sounds great and has a great form factor. The packaging is nice, lots of accessories are included (wish it came with some sort of a case, though). Today I bought a case for $50.00 to be able to take it to the beach! EXCELLENT product!! With the Big Jambox, you definitely get what you pay for! Very highly recommended!

    Compact Design; Rich Sound

    Posted .

I needed a portable speaker for my home office with the ability to double as a speaker phone. The Jambox is perfect! I was pretty shocked when I first bought the BIG Jambox, because it measures about 10" x 4"...so it is quite small. That being said, the sound quality is excellent. There are some reviews complaining of the bass levels, but I think for the size and price of this, the bass is good. It's not going to shake your room, but in my opinion, that isn't what this speaker is designed to do. The overall sound quality is excellent, rich, and complete. The design is awesome. It couldn't be easier to pair with multiple devices...in about 5 minutes I paired it with my MacBook Pro, iPhone 4s, and iPad. The huge bonus to this speaker is the ability to conduct calls through it...the built-in mic works excellent. Great value for the money.

"Hey is that freedom rock" nah bra just my jambox. So you want to go outdoors or the beach and you want a portable speakers , two choices good and best. You see there's no good and then better only the best which is jambox. Tiny weak , poor sound quality sort battery life devices are not for me. Jambox gives you thumping bass with detailed highs other portable speakers cannot simply put want the best pony up and get the best. Versatility and ease of bluetooth connectivity with apps jawbone comes thru with another quality product.

    WOW. Read this Review. Amazing.

    Posted .

Ok so I have had the Jambox for close to a year and I have never written a review..now is the time. This isn't a quick review after a week..this is after daily use, hours at a time. This Jambox is amazing. First if the cost is causing you not to buy it, throw that out the window. It is totally worth it. Heck just the household, beach, oudoors and family party use paid for itself within months. Last month i used my jambox to DJ my cousins wedding. This wasnt a huge wedding but there was around 40 people there. The DJ cancelled last minute and they asked me to bring my jambox for the music walking down the isle and music for dancing afterwards. It performed great. The sound quality is amazing..hands down the best for its size in the market without a doubt. A friend of mine has the Bose Soundlink which is comparable in price and if you are thinking about both of these 2 (bose and jambox) think no more. The Jambox sound quality is way better. He asks me to bring the jambox when we both get together because it has better highs and better lows. The bose just is all Mids. I have a expensive Sony Soundbar for my television that i got for a gift one christmas and I have liked its quality until i bought the jambox and realized what quality sounded like. Now when i watch a movie that i want to get full room sound i plug in my jambox to watch movies instead of my Sony. If you are still reading this review then you probably are really interested in buying the Jawbone Jambox...stop reading now and buy this thing..you will NOT be disappointed. It surpassed every expectation and i have had it for almost a year. Go buy it.

Really good sound and excellent battery time

    Posted .

First I bought a Bose speaker ($300 USD), the sound was excellent, but not loud enough and the battery only lasted like 3 or 4 hrs at max sound level; I exchange it for this one, the sound is really great, and it is loud enough to start a party with your friends at open doors, plus it last close to 10 hrs at a really high volume, if you add the fare price ($250 USD) of it, then you have got a really good deal yourself. I have not tried out the software update it comes with, no need for it yet, but I look forward to the additional features these updates could add. Note: It interacts seemlessly with iPhones and iPads.

Great Bluetooth speaker with long battery life. Was going back and forth about this speaker or the Beats XL pill or Bose Soundlink III. Ended up picking Jawbone because of the extra features. The fact that I can connect my cell and my laptop at the same time sold me. Initial testing of range was a bit disappointing and found my laptop had to be a lot closer to the speaker, but when using my cell for say Spotify I had more flexibility with range. For example, using it in a 3 story town house if my cell was playing Spotify on the third floor (plugged in charging) and the speaker was on the 2nd floor I had no problems. However if my laptop was playing Spotify on the 2nd floor and I brought the speaker to the first floor garage/ outside to grill it did not work and I would have to use my cell that I had on me to play music while grilling. One last complaint was my laptop has windows 8 and the pairing process took some research and a youtube video because once paired you must click something before it disappears to adjust settings on the laptop. Sound is awesome for what the speaker really is and I am very happy with the purchase. Receiving calls on it is a nice plus too where had no problems hearing people or having problems with them hearing me being about 5 ft away from it. Read some things about the jawbone app for the phone and decided to stay away because it does stuff to your phone you don't want which was not worth it to me to get the added benefits of tweaking the speaker.

    Over all great balance

    Posted .

This is a great speaker when compared to others on the market. I have owned the Bose soundlink and sound dock, soundfreaq sound kick, and the big jambox is one of the best. In comparison to the soundlink the big jambox does not have the real low bass at lower volume but bass is still present. At close to max volume it is louder than the soundlink and in my opinion sounds better. The highs and mids are outstanding and precise especially noticeable with piano, acoustic guitar and horns. With soundlink I would get battery life of about 7 hours at about 3/4 volume. So far I have gotten 14 hours out of the big jambox at 3/4 volume and there is about 1/3 of a charge left. That is amazing. In conclusion you may sacrifice a bit of low end but you get a lot more for the price with the big jambox when you consider that it is also a very crisp handsfree speaker, has built in pause/play, forward, back, and smart key. The big jambox can also be customized via USB to add voices and change settings using the jawbone website.

Amazing sound quality from a small-ish package.

    Posted .

Normally it would be hard for me to justify spending 300$ on a speaker but after hearing what this sounded like i had to have it, lucky for me it was on sale for 250$ plus i had a 50$ gift card because bb price-matched my iphone 5. So for the 200$ i payed i am thrilled with this speaker. The reason i decided to get this over the bose soundlink is because at low volume levels the bass overwhelms the music most of the time, while the jambox sounds good at pretty much any level. If your spending 300$ on this i would recommend comparing different models to find the one that sounds the best to you. Pros: Amazing sound quality Extremely well built Very stylish Custamizable via Jawbones website Battery life is amazing Cons: Slight hissing every know and then Bass could be a bit stronger at high volume levels, however for the most part its quite adequate. It would be nice if Jawbone included a carrying case. Conclusion BUY IT you wont be disappointed.

I read mostly good reviews of this speaker and couldn't resist when it was a Deal of the Day and the price was great. I wish I had gotten 2 or 3 of them! This speaker produces really great loud sound and plenty of bass for its size. You can link several to one device in order to play music in multiple rooms at once, so that will be next! A great upgrade from my mini portables (Beats Pill and Jabra Soulmate) that max out on volume at a low level. Next to Bose, this is hard to beat and cool in the sapphire color!

WOW...is what I have to say!

Im am very tuff to please...but when I heard this thing first fire up, I fell in love. The sound is awesome for being portable, the battery lasts just like it says maybe even longer if you dont blast it. Quick connection everytime. The bluetooth range is beyond what is advertised, i tested mine in a large indoor manufacturing area using an iphone and walked a total distance of 130 paces which is about 300 ft. I could not believe it, usually bluetooth is about 30 ft or so. If you are thinking of buying the little version of this...DONT! Spend the extra cash and go BIG Jambox!!! Also if you are considering the Bose Soundlink, dont! Go Big Jambox. It has more to offer like better style, better sound, better battery, built in mic for phone calls,it talks to you telling you its audio mode, connectivity and battery status. It also a smart speaker...meaning it will have updates and apps!!!

We had been contemplating what speaker to get for a couple weeks and just happened to go into Best Buy and see the Jambox (specifically ONLY the dark grey one) was on sale! Not planning on making a purchase that day we see it is $65 less than all others. All the same exact models...yes, even the hot pink one was full price!;-) We thought it had to be different, a mistake, or somehow crappier than the others. We were wrong. We were just REALLY LUCKY!! After all of that, this Bluetooth speaker has EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS! We love it! Amazing full sound on all levels and crystal clear! We've taken ours everywhere: on the boat, tailgate parties, camping, even just on the back deck and the garage. Whether using our MP3 player plugged into it, our iPhone5, laptop or even desktop computer, the battery in the Jambox always seems to last forever! The only thing I could say that could be considered a "con" would be that when it does need to recharge it can't plug into a car charger, therefore making it kind of a bummer when you've been on the boat or camping and it actually dies. Other than that, this is an awesome speaker and what a bargain!!!

I love reading the reviews b4 i buy anything! Its the only truthful tool in reviewing new purchases.. Unless like 200 people got paid to write good reviews then i made a good choice!! This dock has an incredible battery life.. Ive been listening to it for days and its still got about 30 percent left!! Being able to cut the cord is proceless!! I love being able to control it with my iphone. I couldnt believe i spent 300 bucks on it and felt so guilty in line to pay for it. I couldnt wait to turn it on and see if all the reviews made it a justified decision.. after i got home and had to wait 2 more hours for it to charge.. I finally fired it up and socks were literally blown off!!! Its perfect to bring anywhere!! Great purchase!!

Awesome full featured Bluetooth speaker and more!

This is a great product from Jawbone. Sound quality is on par with competing Bose product however design and features of the big jam box trounce Bose . Battery life of rechargeable battery is longer than advertised , important for portable speaker. The compact brick shape makes this truly portable and it sits almost anywhere. I think many formal reviews overlook excellent built in microphone and hands free utility this system provide over most all competing systems. It's a great feature and is well integrated into design. Also system is easily upgraded to change voice prompts and other software enhancements. Live audio sounds incredible when turned on. Bluetooth range for me is 30 to 50 feet when using iPad or iPhone. Also it has ability to switch from two sdevices at same time with ease. Controls are easy to use. I love this thing! This speaker is similar to when Apples iphone first came on the market. It's a generation ahead of its competitors and sets standard for portable Bluetooth speaker systems. Very impressive design and execution from Jawbone! My one critism are lack of accessories. I want a way to mount my jam box on my bike. . Looks like some third parties are starting to offer more versatile cases etc.
