I love this brand. They are always reliable and they do not disappoint with this version. The sound is great, above any beats headphones ive tried. The battery life is less than previous versions, it comes with a miniature battery pack that can give you an extra 4 hours of playime (8 total hours).

I listen to the music all the time (via wired and wireless earphones, Bluetooth speakers) and I do lots of research before buying this kind of stuff. I also own Bose QC30 Bluetooth in-ear headphones which are the best in audio quality till this date based on my experience. So my opinion is mostly based upon a comparison of Jbird freedom with Bose QC30. In terms of sound quality, Jbird is really good and its very close to Bose. The best part is that you can tune its firmware using Jbird app for your taste. But sometimes that becomes a downside as different songs require different tunning for better output and that's where Bose shine. Its firmware is tuned so well that it fits all the songs without requiring any kind of tunning. But again its individual choice so go with your preference. My only problem with Jbird is the comfort level. Within first few hours of usage, I started feeling pain in my ear. Fins were not felt that soft in-ear although appeared soft in hands. Build quality is good overall looks are ok.

Great deal due to being in sale. But skull candy has a better sound quinity. I purccgased these because of size and how they fit. Ear plugs weren’t as small as I’d like but. Oh and battery life wasn’t what I expected (haven’t tried spair battery yet) I got a lil over 2 hours life out of them.

Got these during Best Buy’s Black Friday sale for $50 and am very happy with them. My wife had a different pair of Jaybird’s and these are smaller and sound better. The only ding it gets is that battery life is on the lower end without the additional battery pack thing that comes with it.

Ok so I bought these on sale - $49. I cannot imagine spending $150 for these! No Way, No how! I had a pair of Beat wireless but after wearing them for 30 minutes my ears were Killing me! Those are way to uncomfortable for me. Other people have ears that they fit perfectly I am sure. These headphones are WAY more comfortable to me, but, the sound is not as good. No real big base or full bottom sound coming out of the headphones. (And I have tried a lot of different headphones over the years!) They are lightweight in your ears. You can only turn them on, and adjust the volume. I CANNOT skip to the next song with any button on these... at least not that I have figured out yet, like my Beats could do. I am a little suspect of the fact that you just take the ears end off to change the "ear wings" as over time is that going to become a loose connection and stuff jsut fall off. We will see. For $50 they are a nice pair of wireless headphones. For $150 anyone I know would return them!

I switch from the LG tones 710 to the Jaybirds the sound is great a lot louder and clearer then the lg's the perfect sized buds for my ears but the cord is to short and thin and the battery life isn't long enough. They are worth the Black Friday $49.99 deal. I wouldn't pay regular price

Great product, the earbuds fit snug and are comfortable. Volume and sound is great. I charge it once a day and it gets me through a day and a half of commuting I would say it lasts about 3-4 hours. I got them on sale for $50 so for the price and them being wireless you can't go wrong.

Lots of fit options included and great sound quality (equal to Powerbeats) in a very small package. If I could get 8 hours of battery life on the device it's self they'd be perfect. As is, a good compromise between size and battery with better cord management than the Beats.

I was looking to buy a wireless earphones, but also I was considering with a good bass, so my options were limited to only powerbeats, then a look a this earphones and I was no sure about the sound quality and bass, I bought them and I couldn't be happier with this item, obviously you have to download the app to play with the EQ, once you chose whatever you like or build your own EQ, the sound stays like that no matter if you use the earphones on another device, that's a plus since you don't have that feature on beats, it's like you have better bass than beats and the Bose sound quality, the reason I don't give 5 stars is because jaybird said the battery is about 8 hours, but is not totally true, the earphones battery it's about 4 hours depending the genre or bass, in order to get the 8 hours you have to attach the extended battery charger, don't mention if that little piece got lost, there's no way you can charge the earphones, but hey, nothing is perfect yet, I highly recommend this wireless earphones

I'll preface this review by stating that I have been using the Power Beats wireless headphones and was looking for something a little less bulky for my runs. The Beats held great but are a little big for my taste. Now the Freedom headphones. These were advertised as lightweight, comfortable and were to have a great sound. First, The earbuds themselves are definitely small and lightweight. They fit well in the ear when not running or moving around too much. Unfortunately, the volume control is really bulky and weighs down the headphones. If you run or move around the weight room as I do, the earbuds do not maintain the seal needed for a good sound. I am constantly adjusting the earbuds. The beats, although bulky, just stay in place. I like that you are able to adjust the sound to your liking with the free app. The sound quality is good when the earbuds are in place. They definitely have more clarity than the Beats and allow room for harmonic content. The sound is clear and not muddy like the beats. The downside is they severely lack in the low end and are not nearly as powerful as I'd like them to be. With the volume all the way up, it's about half the output of the Beats. Overall these are decent headphones. Not as bulky as the beats. Better sound clarity but not enough power to get me motivated. Who wants to hear Hendricks at half volume? The big downfall is the ability of these headphones to stay in your ear while running. The mic is just too big and heavy for the earbuds to stay in. Would be worth the price for $99. Not $199.

Good earbuds for working out at the gym. As a small sized woman, I was glad these earbuds came with a variety of ear cushions for the best fit. Good sound, and they stay in place when using various machines. The good price influenced my decision to purchase them.

Great headphones, special edition has limitations

Overall, these are excellent headphones. It's important to note, and it's not very clear on this site, that the reason the special edition is cheaper than the others is because this version does NOT include the Comply tips or even the large size of the standard tips that are included with all other versions of the Freedom F5. It's not a deal breaker, especially if the price is right, but please be aware of this change. We all have different ears, but I could not get a great seal with the enclosed tips. The medium size is just a bit too small. Fortunately, I have some Comply tips that fit this unit and greatly improve the seal. Comply tips do make insertion a bit more cumbersome but are worth it. I think the standard large tips would have been great if included. Also, be prepared for a little more involved initial setup process than is typical for headphones. It's worth taking the time to adjust the cable for the optimal fit for your head to prevent the weight of the control pod from having a negative effect on wearing enjoyment.

Usually it's $100 or $150 but I got them for only $50 Which is really good in my opinion. They extra yearbooks they provided with is help and it actually hooks perfectly in place. Sound is clear, Bluetooth setup was simple and overall so far so good

What can I say? I own and use my original Jaybirds and they are great! I also have a pair of the Bose in ears and like them too. My original Jaybirds are great when I want to silence the world around me while listening to their great sound. They last a good long time on a charge! I never run out of sound but don't use them for more than a four or five hours at a time when flying. I have to charge my Bose in ears with greater frequency and they let in ambient noise which I like when biking or outside or even flying sometimes because they give me situational awareness. However, both my Jaybirds shut out the jet noise when flying (not to mention screaming babies now and then...I always feel sorry for them and their parents, and those without means to 'shut them out'). So why did I buy these? They were on sale for Black Friday. They sound good and clear with less bass than my originals, but they also have the attachable/detachable battery that can be charged while I am listening to what is left in the on-board battery. If I have my backup battery to charge phone or tablet, I can also remove the extra battery and charge it too, and if my on-board dies, simply remove the charging battery pack, attach it to charge and listen to more music, then after a while, put it back on the charger again. I could see doing this for days should there ever be a need for such. A pretty cool way to recharge the unit and keep listening should there be a need!!! They do fit differently and the over the ear method doesn't work quite as well for me (my preferred method to wear them), but that isn't a deal breaker for me. I have worn them below ear and they hang in just fine. I really like the cord management system!!! It is nice to be able to unblock my ears with the old ones and have the buds hang over my ears, but again, not a deal breaker with the new ones. So, the bottom line is that each have a purpose, both sound good, but I like the sound of the originals a bit better. Not sure if they use a different driver for the 'Special Edition' but glad that I can boost the bass with the app (something I do not do with my old Jaybirds. I love the wireless convenience and the comfort it provides. These 60 year old ears aren't the audiophiles they once were, but all of the wireless earbuds I own are excellent! Great job, Jaybird. Keep up the quality and work!

Got these on sale l, so for what I paid I feel that I got a good deal. Sound quality is on point with the higher end headphones but the only draw back is the weight of the mic area, it tends to drag the ear bud towards that direction after a while

These Bluetooth earbuds are great. They put out some quality audio that can be fine-tuned with the Jaybird proprietary app. The only negative I’ve come across is the in-line control. It can weigh the cord down, and it cause the earbud to come out.

These headphones are great because of the wireless feature and how sturdy they are. Ive dropped them a handful of times and they still continue to work. The only this I dislike is how long they last I feel like they die will I'm on long runs.

These headphones have incredible sound quality. You are provided with enough ear pieces for a perfect fit. I only wish the battery lasted longer, I get about three hours of continuous use before I start getting yelled at for charging.
