    Great Sound/Horrible Connection

Ok...so as far as sound quality go this head set is on point with the high end Bluetooth earbuds and the apps customizable equalizer is great, but the overall experience has been lack luster to say the least. Once I really started using these on a day to day basis I noticed that the left earbud would loose connection to the right earbud quite often, especially if I was moving around. Then (on my Note9) if I left them in the charger for a day or two with no use, I would have to re-sync them with the phone. On my iPhone (XS Max) the app wont sync to them at all, the phone will connect to them, and I can listen to the music, but I have no customization of the units. Also battery is only meah, maybe 2 hours of steady listening off of a full charge.

I had to try out the different ear pieces included, but after finding the right fit for my ears these headphones are perfect for running. The Jaybird app lets you customize the sound, and I'd highly recommend trying that out. They sound much better after customization

A great update to the previous RUN

The new Jaybird RUN XTs are a great addition to the Jaybird lineup. They are extremely similar to the previous RUN model but with the added benefit of waterproofing. I own the previous model and I never had any issues while using them during workouts, but it's a nice peace-of-mind feeling to know you're really covered during high intensity activities. I'm not sure if they are ready for swimming as I haven't tested them for that. I particularly like the new monotone matte finish. . they are more subtle that the last ones. The new model also has more button customization options from with the Jaybird App. At first, I noticed that the button controls had been changed and I was no longer able to adjust the volume with a simple click...it bugged me. But after diving deeper into the updated app, I found the option to adjust the buttons and and now the button controls are back to where I like them. Glad they made that an option but they really should be a bit more clear that this is a new feature and not a permanent revision somewhere. They seem a touch lighter now as well. From first glance, the earbud size remains relatively close to the previous model. They are still secure and quite comfortable to wear after selecting the right fit sleeves. The sound seems very similar to the previous model as well. It's still nice and powerful and fully customizable with the ability to create your own equalizer settings via the App. Battery life remains strong and I haven't had any issues so far. Overall, I really like them and think they are a great successor to the previous RUN model.

Great fit, Amazing App Functionality, Good Sound

I want to start this review by saying that when I initially opened the earbuds I was a little worried that these earbuds would be uncomfortable to wear , especially for long periods of time. They look a little big, bulky and personally I've never been a fan of earbuds with "hooks" of any sort. Well, turns out these are pretty light, the hooks I was worried about are actually soft and help in guiding and keeping the ear bud in its place. The standard default set fit perfectly into my adult sized ears. The pairing process is super easy and they connect to your phone right away after you pair them for the first time. I wish they would pause and or stop when you pull them out of your ears but the right ear bud does have a pause function when you press it . a good solution. I did love that they turn off and on when you put them back into their case. The charging / status lights on the outside of the case are also a big plus. You can easily see if your earbuds are charging properly and if the case has battery charge. The case is a nice and small and locks shut when you close it. you need to press a button to "unlock" and open the case, a nice feature to have, so if you happen to drop your charge case, the earbuds are less likely to fall out. The earbuds seat nicely , very easily and firmly into the case, I hardly fumbled in setting them to charge and matching the charging contacts. I do want to mention that for some reason a 6 foot micro usb charge cable that I use for all my other devices didn't work in charging this case. I had to resort to the very short cable that you are provided with. Not a very big deal, perhaps my cable was bad. I will try with another cable when I get a longer one. I highly recommend that you download the jaybird app before you pair your earbuds to your phone. I went ahead and paired my earbuds to my iPhone before I downloaded the app, and for some strange reason when I launched the app after already listening to music with them they glitched "Froze" so to speak. The right earbud started squealing with a very high pitch and I had to do a hard reset on the earbuds. I'ven't had the issue since After resetting them and pairing with the app preinstalled and loaded. The app itself is pretty amazing! There is a plethora of custom presets to toggle and enjoy. There is an endless selection created by a community of people. Even youtube influencers and athletes share their presets with the app. so cool! You can of course also create your own custom presets, along with names and pictures to make finding your own custom presets even easier. This was by far my favorite feature of the app and these earbuds. I spent a lot of time trying different presets lol, and found one I love! The app also lets you change the function of the button presses on the earbuds from play pause, to siri or volume up and down. I wore them in the sauna for 10 minutes before my two hour workout in the gym and the earbuds never over heated and my sweat dripping was never as issue. After two hours with them on my ears didn't feel too fatigued or "hurt" by the fit and hooks. I thought about keeping them on in the shower for waterproof testing but I didn't, the box says they are waterproof but I love these earbuds too much to take that risk. I imagine a run or walk in the rain would be fine while having these on. Sound quality out of the box in my opinion is not the greatest BUT the endless EQ customization and Presets will most definitely help you find a setting that is pleasing to your ears. I wish I could comment on long term reliability , but my these impressed me quite a bit in my first 72 hours of use. My biggest complaint and its almost a dealbreaker for me is the call audio quality. For some reason phone call audio sounds very weak, tinny, and shallow. I honestly don't want to or care to use these while making phone calls. If you are looking for a set of earbuds to use to talk on the phone with, I don't recommend these. I'd recommend these to anyone who strictly wants a set of wireless earbuds for music listening at the gym or other outdoor activities. Pros; Jaybird App is Awesome for customizing EQ and Functions Comfortable to wear while being a secure tight fit Sweat and Waterproof Charge / Stow Case is small, smart and easy to use Cons; Call audio quality is bad, and phone calls only work with the Right Ear Bud.

      Hi Ponskippa,

Thank you for the in-depth review!

The call audio is limited to the right earbud. When you accept a phone call, the left earbud will allow ambient sound in to assist with better hearing your own voice. This avoids the need to take the left earbud out during phone calls. We will take your feedback about the right earbud for calls to the development team.

Feel free to reach out to us at www.jaybirdsport.com/support if you ever need.

The sound quality and level of control that the app provides is excellent. I find the earbuds very comfortable. I purchased them because of their ip7 rating. Unfortunately there is a huge audio delay when watching video. It makes them useless for watching a movie or youtube. Can't recommend this product until this issue is resolved.

There is no match for these earbuds! I've owned Jabra, Powerbeats, JVC, and these are all out to shame by the Jaybird Run XT. The EQ app is phenomenal and the sensitivity is unreal. I listen to my music at 50% and it's CRISP. I swear profusely while I workout and the earbuds hold put no matter what activity. My wife will be getting a pair.

My daily go-to earbuds used to be the powerbeats 3, but recently the earhooks broke off and the bluetooth signal kept cutting out. I decided to upgrade to truly wireless earbuds and being a previous owner of the jaybird X2s, these were a no brainer. They came charged up right out of the box and the pairing process was quick and simple. The jaybird app let me tune the sound signature to my liking and these things sound amazing. So far I have not had any bluetooth connection problems with these things. They fit really snug in my ear for when im running or working out and they are also water and sweat proof. One con that I have experienced so far is that the buttons are harder to press so I find myself jamming the earbuds into my ear when I try to use the play/pause button. While this is very uncomfortable it isnt a huge issue and I recommend these to anybody who wants to make the transition to fully wireless earbuds and wants great sound quality, a secure fit, and water resistance.

The first things I noticed that I really like is; ~ The case closes with a click and doesn't accidentally open on me ~ There are charge indicators on the outside front of the case so I know the status of both the right, left and the case. ~ Pairing with my LG V30 was a breeze ~ Several options to fit the ear, but the ones that were pre-installed are perfect for me. When I put them in my ear I knew they were snug because there's a little hook that goes into the front crevice of the ear, once that's inserted I just pushed it securely into my ear canal. Also, and the best thing is, it has a downloadable app that allows me to tweak the way my music sounds. Call sounds are great, so far no complaints of wind or ambient outside noises on voice calls. The overall feel when I'm wearing the earbuds are very comfortable. I like these much better than another pair I own. And yes I would recommend these to friends!

Great if you know what you are getting... QUALITY: out of the box these earbuds are clearly top quality and solidly built. No concerns about them lasting a long time and standing up to any accidental drops and bumps. FIT: the best fit I have gotten so far from trying out several brands, including wired earbuds and wireless earbuds. Very snug, while still very comfortable. No 'headache' or 'earache' from wearing these an extended time, and once I got the fit and positioning right it is just about impossible to get these to fall out or loosen up. SOUND: good sound, and the best quality and range of any wireless earbuds I have tried so far. The app allows customizing the equalizer settings, and the pre-sets are very handy and I haven't needed to make any serious adjustments to the available pre-sets. BATTERY: several hours of music per charge, and several good (and quick) recharges from the holding case. Really a couple of days can go by with using these without having to hook the charging cable back up. At least as good for battery life as any others I have tried if not a little better. CONNECTIVITY: have had not issues connecting to phone, laptop, desktop >> all connections are good and although there is an occasional "drop" it is no worse than with other sets. The earbuds turn off when you put them in the case, and then connect quickly with whatever is around when you take them back out. KEWLNESS: nice feature of the app is to "find" a lost earbud. I guess if you are out running and one of the earbuds falls out and you don't realize this has happened until later (huh? @@@@@@@ then the app will help you locate your lost earbud. Nice concept but who the heck wouldn't know that an earbud fell out? Maybe I'm missing the point here? CONTROLS: similar to other wireless earbuds, there are not quite as many controls available with only two buttons (one on each earbud) to use. Volume up/down by pushing the buttons requires going into the app and changing the button configuration. That's OK, but then you lose the play/pause, answer call, etc. functions that are set by default. As with other sets of wireless earbuds, you trade some control functions due to less room for "standard" sets of control buttons. Not better than other earbuds, not worse, just different and par for the course for wireless-ness. BUT... as advertised by Jaybird, these are made for listening to audio files and NOT NOT NOT for use when viewing any type of video. This was the one disappointment from these earbuds, and considering the price point was really a big disappointment. I feel kind of silly having to change out these wireless earbuds for a set that is considerably less in price to avoid the LAG LAG LAG between the video and audio when viewing a video. OK that Jaybird stresses the "use when working out or running and etc.. ." use of these earbuds, but honestly a big let-down to miss out on some of the functionality that could (or should) be there considering the price. If you don't plan to use these for watching video, and understand that they are never going to be usable for watching video, then by all means this is a premium product that should not disappoint. Otherwise, keep looking.

The Jaybird RUN XT seems to have fixed the bluetooth connectivity issue that plagued the prior non-XT model. So far, I've not lost connectivity. The XT also adds IPX7 waterproofing in case you want to take these out in the rain. Note, they are not recommended for swimming or wearing in the shower. PROs . Great sound. When properly inserted, tones are crisp, clear, and the bass is not feeble. . App allows customizing and sharing sound settings with the community. This is one of the best sound customizing apps I've seen. . Lightweight, excellent fit, though may be too large for very small ears CONs . Background hiss is noticeable in low volume or during spoken word or quiet music. This is the biggest flaw in the sound. . The snug fit blocks outside noise very well. But I would not wear these where it's critical to hear ambient sound, like biking on the street. These really should have a a setting to let ambient sound through when you want to hear it. . Storage case, though compact, bulges more than other buds I've owned. The sound quality and sound customizing app are strong enough features that I recommend trying these.

These sound great and fit me great. I've tried so many kinds of earbuds over the years and have yet to find a pair that fit comfortably until now. Even the professional in ear monitors were uncomfortable. Perhaps I've an odd ear or ear canal because earbuds just never fit me well, I'm always adjusting them, they hurt, they don't seal well... These, using the tips and fins that were installed, fit perfectly and are comfortable. The soft tips, instead of fitting in my ear canal, fill the opening outside the ear canal and perfectly seal to reduce outside noises. I've worn these for close to three hours with no discomfort whatsoever. These have a great full range response with much fuller bass than I expected from a bud. The app has several EQ (customizable) presets which makes it easy to adapt to different music styles, there are also tons of downloadable preset EQs. I've had quite a few earbuds that just aren't loud enough at my phones max volume (OK, I know the phone makers limit the volume to avoid lawsuits) but these do fine, I've never maxed out the phone volume. I love these and have not one complaint!

Really glad I had the opportunity to use and test these headphones. I have used them on one charge and had over 6 hours of listening pleasure. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The App for the setup is great, though I do think it may actually have too many choices. If you're like me keeping it simple is a nice way to keep things. It has 8 pre-set sound levels, which are awesome as well as manual sound level that you can save. It links to your Spotify account and has a list of genres as well as trending music, so your always up to date and jamming!!! The earbuds are solid but very comfortable. It comes with every imaginable ear accessory to make sure the fit you need is available. I was most impressed with the range of the earbuds. I was 30 feet away in another room and was still connected as if the phone was still in my pocket. Just unreal quality and comfort. I would recommend these to anyone that is active or just wants a great quality wireless earbuds for easy listening.

I've owned about three other pair of Jaybird ear buds over the years and the sound quality is always where they shine. Rich bass, clear mids and highs, and plenty of volume. I'll say this with the caveat that also with Jaybirds, if you don't take the time to get the fit perfect, you won't get the above mentioned great sound. The Run XT Sport's are no exception to this statement. These have a great set of features. They're relatively small, they last 4 hours on a charge, they come with a charging case that's good for 3 charges before it needs a recharge. They offer a free app that allows you to change the tone of the buds with a parametric EQ, and they also have saved EQ settings you can try out and use in the app itself. You can even save as many different EQ settings as you want. The nice thing about this is that these settings are saved right on the buds themselves, so you don't have to worry about changing devices and losing all your settings. There are pros and cons about these buds, and whether you're already a fan of totally wireless buds or this is your first pair, it may help you to read through them. The Pros: First and foremost, the sound quality. I've never had an issue with the sound of any Jaybird ear buds. They give you deep rich bass without getting muddy, the mids are clean and clear and voices sound natural, and the highs are bright without being tinny. Second is the charging case. If you've used this style of ear bud before you know that it's important to have a secure place to store them when you're not using them, and an easy way to charge them back up. The case performs both of these features nicely, but I did notice that when you open the case, the lid can only open to a vertical position and doesn't go all the way back. This makes the case very back heavy when it's open and it won't stand up easily, which makes you fumble around a bit to get the buds into or out of it. Third, they can accept calls. Like most other buds, this has become a pretty standard feature. The Bluetooth setup and connect was simple and straight forward, and walked me through the steps. Forth, the free app. It works great and offers a lot in terms of personalizing the sound. It offers you a way to save your own settings for different styles of music and it comes with pre-loaded EQ settings for you to try out and use. You can even try out other people's play lists for work outs. It's a good app, well thought out and very useful. You don't need to use it, but it's there if you want it. The Cons: I've mentioned that with these buds, fit's everything. That's no small understatement. If you don't get the fit right, you will flat out not like them. The sound will be thin and they will probably hurt. These particular buds I found trickier than their other versions to get a good fit. I found that I often had them "close" to being in the right position, but they hurt or pinched a bit. It will take you some time to figure out the right position and correct set of tips and fins to use, but even after that, I never thought they were very comfortable, although I never ever felt like they were going to fall out. They're light enough to stay in place very nicely (as all the other Jaybird buds do). This leads in nicely to my second con. In order to start, stop, pause, skip tracks, answer a call, etc., you press inward on the button at the end. Essentially, you're pressing the buds into your ears even further, and with the fit being as finicky as it's, that only makes you monkey around with them even more, after you use either button. I appreciate that the button is easy to find and large enough to actually use (unlike so many of the microscopic buttons found on other brands of buds), but you may find that you tend to avoid using them because of this. In the end, I'll say I "like" these buds, but I don't "love" them. The sound is great once the fit's right. And it could just be the shape of my ears that hampered my comfort. They're definitely worth a try especially if you're looking for a pair that stay put when you run or work out. I've loved all my other Jaybird buds, so I may just need to get used to these.

Pleasing sound was marred by occasional dropouts

Easy to set up and use. They come with multiple attachments, and they fit well and stayed secured once I found the right ones. Sound was good, but not excellent. At higher volumes, the high end which sounded good at medium levels started to get a bit... screechy. Spending more time adjusting them via the phone app may resolve this issue, but one that couldn't be resolved is their tendency to drop the BT signal. First one, then the other ear bud would drop out in turn for a second or so, and while this didn't happen all the time, it happened enough to be annoying. There's no reason they should do that with the phone it was paired to less than 2 ft away. Also limited is there is no way to adjust the volume via the ear the buds. There's a button on each bud and you're limited to pause the audio answering phone calls, and accessing Siri or Google Assistant. This is the second generation of Jaybird's true wireless headphones, and while they offer improvements over the original by adding full IPX7 waterproofing and some different color options, they largely appear to be the same -- same design, same option to use just the right earbud (which Jaybird calls "Mono Mode"). Battery life is also the same: four hours off a charge, with two additional full charges in the case for a total of 12 hours. Overall they are nice headphones, but they seem to be much the same as their 2017 headphones, and while they offer a pleasant listening experience, I find them hard to recommend until the Bluetooth dropout issue is resolved.

-Open the charge case and remove your earbud.

      To hard reset your earbuds:

-Turn off your right earbud by pressing the right multifunction button for 3 seconds.
-With your right earbud off, press and hold the right multifunction button for 6 seconds until the LED flashes green.
-Double press the right multifunction button. The LED will flash orange and the earbud will turn off. Your earbud has now been reset.

The new Jaybird RUN XT's are nearly there in terms of all around true wireless headphones that perform well in every category. They have a solid low profile design, sound good, easily portable and rechargeable, and connect right away to your smart phone. There are still a few things that could be better with the new Jaybird Run's. The Bluetooth connection is good most of the time but when I'm wearing them outside and my phone in an armband or pocket the connection will sometimes drop for a second in the left ear piece. I'm also not a fan of the buttons on the side which take a bit of pressure to click in order to control your music. The battery life at 4 hours doesn't bother me because I always carry around my charging case and put the headphones in there when I'm done with them so they are always at full charge. The fit and comfort is good too. Not once was I scared that they were going to fall out whether I was on a run or playing basketball and my ears did not get fatigued. These headphones like most of jaybird products connect to the jaybird app which allows you to create your own sound profile. That is really a nice treat with these headphones because the stock sound is just okay but tweeking it to your liking make them good headphones. In terms of true wireless headphones I wouldn't go with any other pair. These are now IPX7 water resistant certified and can withstand the amount of sweat I produce which is a lot during a workout. I like that they do not stick out of the ear too much and are comfortable to wear. There are still some things to improve on but overall I really enjoy the Jaybird Run XT's.

When it comes to running headphones there are multiple options on the market today. However, when it comes to fully wireless headphones Jaybird has definitely made their way near the front of the pack and as someone who has used the X2`s and original Run`s this is expected as you can always count on quality from Jaybird. The original Run headphones were excellent and these eliminate a few of the original flaws of the Run. Firstly though unboxing the headphones is great as the packaging is of high quality and the overall aesthetics are very sleek and minimalistic with the new matte colors. Then as with all Jaybird products they include numerous sizes of ear tips and wings to ensure a perfect fit. The one aspect with the unboxing that I was slightly disappointed with though was that there was no case for all the extra ear tips and charging cable as there was with the previous edition of the headphones. Moving onto actual performance though these headphones were great. Volume was very sufficient and there was no need for them to be any louder and the music was very crisp and clear as well. Then the ability to customize the sound and EQ settings on the app does have its advantages if there is a certain sound you do prefer such as more bass or more focus on vocals. The music did not seem to cut out as much as they did in the prior generation as the only time the left earbud did cut out was when I was on a different floor of my home than the device the headphones were connected to which was the only flaw in my opinion of the original Run headphones. The battery life was also wonderful as I was getting about 10-11 hours of playtime total before I had to charge the case again. Then the other new feature of these headphones is the IPX7 rating which I can`t forsee these headphones ever getting ruined as I sweat fairly heavily and even with the last headphones I never had an issue as they are still going strong after over a year. Overall, these headphones are definitely great for anyone participating in fitness activities and athletes alike. The sound quality, build quality, and aesthetics are phenomenal. The only two slight negatives I can even come up with is the lack of a case/pouch for the charging cable and extra ear tips and then the fact that the left earbud does still occasionally cut in and out even though it is only when you are a greater distance away from the device that they are connected to. For the price though and compared to the competition on the market I can definitely recommend these for both everyday leisure use and active sport use as well.

I would recommend this to a friend
