Great sound quality, the charge is fast and slow drain. The only thing that I do not like and why I did not give 5 stars is they hurt my ears being in for 15min. I am pretty sure it is the shape of my ear.

I'm a tech challenged 48 yr old father of 4 that just relied on my kids hand me down head sets, just to mow grass and ride my bike around, last set handed down was power beats that wouldn't stay charged and were always falling out when I mowed and was hard to hear music while mowing! I bought my Jaybird Run XT Sports, got home made sure they were fully charged while I looked over instructions, put them in turned them on they connected immediately, fit snug and comfortable, started mowing and couldn't hear the tractor AT ALL! Never felt loose and sound quality in my opinion was perfect and even better once I opened the app and adjusted equalizer to my preference. Very Impressed so far!!

I use the jaybird earbuds mostly for the gym and outdoor activities. It does cancel noise so if you are a runner that needs that ambient noies for safety you would have lower the volume or leave one out. I do love the small charging case that is round very friendly for the pocket but still bulky. One thing I dont like it is the interface and that ear bud buttons options controls

Ok...so as far as sound quality go this head set is on point with the high end Bluetooth earbuds and the apps customizable equalizer is great, but the overall experience has been lack luster to say the least. Once I really started using these on a day to day basis I noticed that the left earbud would loose connection to the right earbud quite often, especially if I was moving around. Then (on my Note9) if I left them in the charger for a day or two with no use, I would have to re-sync them with the phone. On my iPhone (XS Max) the app wont sync to them at all, the phone will connect to them, and I can listen to the music, but I have no customization of the units. Also battery is only meah, maybe 2 hours of steady listening off of a full charge.

For the size and added features, these ear buds put out a very intense sound with a high exterior noise canceling effect. While the music was playing at a reasonable level, virtually all outside sounds were canceled out. Even with no audio playing, it's difficult to hear surrounding noises. Which is a plus in most cases, however I found myself constantly removing one bud to talk to people. These ear buds can be used in tandem, or just the right bud. Each has it's own power button. If you download the app, you can monitor each pieces battery level, and select from preset EQ settings, or customize your own. The app can even be linked to Spotify where you can listen to other workout playlists, or your own. The buds fit perfectly into my ear, out of the box, however they come with additional size adapters to accommodate virtually any ears size. The big plus is that these are completely waterproof (IPX7) and sweatproof , so no more worries about how to handle them during a long workout. Which also makes it easier to clean them. They still don't recommend swimming in them, as they are only rated for about 1 meter of water for 30mins or less. The battery life is about 4hours on a full charge, but the awesome part is that with just a 5minute charge you can get an hour worth of play. The included carry case is the best accessory for these buds, not only do the buds fit easily into them but they also charge right from the case. The case has it's own battery system for the buds to charge from. The case when fully charged can handle 2 full recharges to the buds. So that means when everything is fully charged you can get 12hours of playback, until needing a plug in from the wall. The buds can also be used to answer phone calls, or initiate the google assistant with a single tap to the right ear bud. With the addition of an ambient noise feature these buds would be perfect, but very pleased and impressed with them as is. -- also, just as a side not, at this time I have not experienced any connectivity issues, which use to be a problem on earlier models.

Right out of the packaging the JayBird RUN XT earbuds are ready to go. Just take them out of the case, put them in your ears, turn them on and pair them with any Bluetooth device. Unfortunately, you can only pair them with one device at a time. If you want to change from one device to another, you have to disconnect them from the current device and turn them off before connecting them to different device. I've paired them with my Samsung Galaxy S8, Dell laptop, Kindle tablets (2 of those) and iPad Air 2. Each one only took a few seconds to pair. It did take a little longer than other earbuds that I own due to the fact that only the Right earbud is used for pairing, but either one turns them on or off. The Left earbud when pressed once, activates Siri or Google Assistant as well as turning the earbuds on and off. The right earbud is used for Play/Pause, phone calls, on/off and pairing. Now for sound quality -The sound is clear with no background feedback, or static. I put them in, put my Spotify on my smartphone, and was able to walk all around the house doing my various chores without any breakup in sound or sound quality. The phone calls come in clear and concise and the party at the other end can hear me without any feedback or distortions. I listened to several types of music to test the quality of different acoustics. The sound was clear and sharp with the pop music, classic rock, classical, easy listening and blues/Jazz. I wore them for about 2 hours and the sound got better as they were "breaking in". For more sound settings use the JayBird app that can be downloaded from iTunes or Google Play. I was able to adjust the bass for my audio books and vocalist music. The charging case is small, and "capsule" shaped with 3 LED lights in front and lightweight. The right and left charging lights are for the earbuds themselves and the middle one is for the charging case. The USB-C adapter is the same one I use for my cell phone, so charging it won't be a problem. It does come with USB-C adapter. The case charge last for several days. I've had them for a few weeks or so and only had to charge the case with the earbuds once. The charging cable that comes with the JayBird RUN XT is very short, only about 6" but you can use a longer one. I used my cell phone USB-C cable as that's about 3 feet long and works just fine for charging the case. Comfort - The JayBird Run XT fits snuggly in my ears, but it took a while to choose the correct ear tips and wings so that they stayed in. They were a little uncomfortable at first, but after a few minutes of fiddling around with placement, they were actually pretty comfortable. My advice, since there is no cable connecting them together, make sure you pick the ear tips and wings that fit snugly but comfortably in your ears. If they are not perfectly placed, they can fall out. They do muffle external sounds well even though they are not considered Noise Canceling. Battery life - the charging case lasted almost 3 weeks before it had to be recharged. The earbuds themselves lasted for over 3 hours. They took less than 45min to charge fully in the case. For me they give me good quality of sound as some of the other top brands that I own. I would recommend these for anyone wanting clear sound and no wires.

I have tried a few brands of true wireless headphones and these are my favorite to date. My main use case is workouts, but I also do some casual listening as well. To quickly sum it up, they have a nice design, are well-built, waterproof, have quite a few fit options, sound good, have generally good connectivity and have some solid battery life. All in all, a nice set of headphones. I have only had about a week with them, but to start, they have a nice build and I really appreciate the waterproofing. It is a nice piece of mind for headphones that will be around sweat, water.etc. The colors are nice, the design is low-key and the phones themselves are small and look great! Perfect for me. They also fit me quite well, partly because Jaybird gives you several fittings and sizes to help. Fit is so important with buds, for sound, comfort and in-ear "stay-ability." I have struggled with several brands on this front, and I realize each person is different, but at least you have a good chance of a solid fit given the provided options. Connectivity. It is important. Where to start? I "generally" have had a good experience here, but there have been a few dropouts, and the pairing, while "good," could be "better." While the dropouts have been minimal, and quick to correct, they have happened. Further, and I guess this is not fair, but the pairing is not the "Apple Experience." I can not help but wonder if Bluetooth 5 could have helped here. Ultimately, however, I still have had a good experience with these. Certainly, better than I have had with some other brands. As for sound quality, I am rather pleased. It is not "the best" you will hear, but for this class, it is quite good. They do sound a bit neutral out of the box, but once I got into the app and adjusted some EQ settings, I found they sounded much better to my ear. Battery life is as advertised and has been solid. 4 hours of use, with an additional 8 hours stored in the case (small-ish and a nice design) will cover most people. While I would love to see another hour of use time squeezed in there, the fact that you can get 1 hour of use on a 5-minute charge is a nice compromise. I do wish the cable was a little longer, and I REALLY wish it was a USB-C connection, but all in all, the battery and charging is great. Jaybird offers voice controls, physical controls on the phones themselves, call management.etc.with Siri and Google Assistant support, but honestly, these aren't really things I use or have used. I mentioned it since it is nice that they offer these things and I am sure quite a few people use them. Ultimately, I like these headphones. They have pretty much everything you look for in a pair of wireless phones, do it all well and come from a reputable brand with a good history behind it. Design, sound quality, comfort, and battery all clicked for me. Check your use case, but if you are looking for wireless, sports/active headphones, these are worth a look.

SHORT VERSION - Unless waterproof is important to you, don't waste your money, get the "regular" Jaybird Run instead. They're the exact same thing, according to the specs page. I've used these for about a week, and overall, these are good (not great) wireless earbuds. The waterproofing is the standout feature. Everything else about them is good, but basically the same as every other wireless headphone/earbud I've tried, hence they only get 4 stars from me. I'm also bummed that the charging case is micro-usb, not USB-C. Sound quality is ok and about equal to my pair of Bragi Dash Pro wireless earbuds, but with slightly more bass. Compared to the Jabra Elite 65e neckband headphones, these (obviously) don't sound as good. Battery life over the course of a week was about as advertised. I didn't test the charging case capacity. The one plus (compared to my Bragi Dash) is the earbuds fit nicely into the charging case so there's no uncertainty whether they're charging or not. Fit / Comfort - These fit me okay. The added wingtips help keep them stable in my ear, but I didn't really test them running. They're slightly larger than my Bragi Dash, so they started to hurt a bit after an hour, but I don't think I had the right size wingtip. You should definitely consider purchasing/ordering extra comply foam tips. My previous headphones had these and they wear out rather quickly and don't handle getting wet too well.

Solidly built and very sturdy. Nice the extra ear buds and wings are included to ensure a tight fit especially if running or during a hard workout. I had no problems with this at all. These are truly wireless. Setup was simple and the app is great especially since you can set up almost countless sound range either your own custom preferred set up or ones already available in the app. Sound is excellent and can compete with the other high end brands for sure. The was virtually no distortion at higher volumes. Voice prompts from the buds are also very convenient with battery life and on and off modes. As it states you can use mono mode and only operate the right ear bud if you still need to have one ear free. The ability to charge the case is a great feature. I got just about 4 hours from a single charge and the case will allow for two additional 4 hour charges without it being plugged in. Of course you need to make sure the case has been properly charged for this to happen. The only issue I had was I did lose sound in the left ear on a few occasions. I followed the direction as they prefer you keep your device on your right side either in an arm band or pocket. This was a little frustrating and the reason I rated 3 out of 5 stars and in my opinion an important issue. This can be problematic for those who do not want to stop in the middle of a run or workout. If this can be addressed, this is a winner of a product!

      Hi Conall11,

Thank you for your review, it sounds like there is a lot you like about your RUN XT!

Hopefully once you're set up for your run you won't have to move your phone location. The right side is best because the right earbud is the master earbud and this connects to your phone or audio device.

Feel free to flick us an email at jaybirdlistens@jaybirdsport.com if you would like any more assistance with your RUN XT. We're here to help.

The first things I noticed that I really like is; ~ The case closes with a click and doesn't accidentally open on me ~ There are charge indicators on the outside front of the case so I know the status of both the right, left and the case. ~ Pairing with my LG V30 was a breeze ~ Several options to fit the ear, but the ones that were pre-installed are perfect for me. When I put them in my ear I knew they were snug because there's a little hook that goes into the front crevice of the ear, once that's inserted I just pushed it securely into my ear canal. Also, and the best thing is, it has a downloadable app that allows me to tweak the way my music sounds. Call sounds are great, so far no complaints of wind or ambient outside noises on voice calls. The overall feel when I'm wearing the earbuds are very comfortable. I like these much better than another pair I own. And yes I would recommend these to friends!

Cons: Right out of the box, the left and right were not synced together. I attempted to troubleshoot this problem using their manuals, however they did not state how to remedy. After searching the internet for the problem, I found out that it was a problem they have had for over a year, but I also found the fix. I did E-mail tech support, but they did not get back to me until a day later. When using the App, the earbuds actually crashed and I had to forget them and re-pair them with my phone. Pros: They are very loud, the sound is very crisp. The battery life is great as well. The app lets you customize the equalizer and it has other presets from other users as well.

    True Wireless, Comfortable, Music/Call Headphones

Sweat and Waterproof with a 4-hour play time and quick charge case providing 2 full charges, the Jaybird RUN XT is a true wireless headphone; and with the many interchangeable cushioning parts it becomes a true wireless sports headphone. It took a couple of adjustments for me to find the right silicone ear gels (oval and round available) and fin, but when I did, I found these to be very comfortable and secure in my ear. There are four choices to choose from. The headphones paired easily with my iPad, iPhone and iWatch and are made to be compatible with any Bluetooth device including iPod touch, Android, Windows, Blackberry, Android Wear Smartwatches, PC, Mac and gaming devices. After pairing, I downloaded the Jaybird app which I found to be extensive. It not only has a feature to help you find your Jaybirds if needed, but it also allows full customization for listening preference with the use of an EQ. There are also 8 presets and 12 different genres from which to choose. The app offers ongoing podcast from runners which also helps make it an interactive, current app. The charging case is compact and gives two full recharges to your earbuds. The percentage of charge left is announced when you place the earbuds in your ears, and they are turned on. Five minutes of charging provides 1 hour of playing time. The earbuds start charging as soon as you place them in the charging case and close the lid. When the green LED pulses, the earbuds are charging and when it turns solid green, the earbuds are fully charged. They are marked as either left or right. A better design feature would have been to attach the charging cord permanently to the case. This design makes it something else to keep up if I charge the case other than in my home office. But I do like the feature that if the buds are removed and not placed immediately in the charging case, they will automatically turn off within 30 minutes. Controlling the earbuds is also easy. Removing them from the case will turn them on and returning them to the case will turn them off. They can also both be manually turned on or off. Manually turning them both off can be done by pressing for 3 seconds on either bud, whereas a single press on each bud will turn them on (not jointly as the off button works). The feature I like most about these headphones is that it is so easy to take calls and control music on the run. There is a built-in microphone in the right earbud and when making or receiving calls, the right earbud switches to single or mono mode. I really like this feature because I am most often multi-tasking. The button on the left can activate Siri or Google Assistant with a single press. A single press on the right bud will play/pause/accept or end a call. A simple double press on the right bud will skip forward or decline a call. These are very simple commands to offer such convenience. After I had used the earbuds for a few days, I was in an area where surrounding technology caused them to lose their Bluetooth pairing and when I re-paired them to my phone, I seemed to have minimal but noticeable distortion and audio issues. I did a hard reset once and a soft reset once which seems to have eliminated all the problems. The soft reset is simple to execute and only requires that the right earbud be placed into the charging case and the lid closed. When the case is reopened, the soft reset has been performed. A hard reset involves turning the right earbud off for 3 seconds, then holding that button down for six seconds until the LED flashed green. After this the button must be pressed twice. The LED will then flash orange and the earbud will turn itself off. At this point the earbuds have been totally reset. So, if you run into any issues at all, you should perform a soft, and possibly a hard reset. This should allow you to receive the quality performance that these are designed to deliver. To pair the earbuds to different devices, I was able to do so by following the first two steps of the hard-reset process and following the voice prompt. I would recommend these. They stay securely in my ears and are very comfortable and easy to use. The headphones do lack any noise cancelling, but with the low harmonic distortion of 5%, the stereo sound is still premium.

Great if you know what you are getting... QUALITY: out of the box these earbuds are clearly top quality and solidly built. No concerns about them lasting a long time and standing up to any accidental drops and bumps. FIT: the best fit I have gotten so far from trying out several brands, including wired earbuds and wireless earbuds. Very snug, while still very comfortable. No 'headache' or 'earache' from wearing these an extended time, and once I got the fit and positioning right it is just about impossible to get these to fall out or loosen up. SOUND: good sound, and the best quality and range of any wireless earbuds I have tried so far. The app allows customizing the equalizer settings, and the pre-sets are very handy and I haven't needed to make any serious adjustments to the available pre-sets. BATTERY: several hours of music per charge, and several good (and quick) recharges from the holding case. Really a couple of days can go by with using these without having to hook the charging cable back up. At least as good for battery life as any others I have tried if not a little better. CONNECTIVITY: have had not issues connecting to phone, laptop, desktop >> all connections are good and although there is an occasional "drop" it is no worse than with other sets. The earbuds turn off when you put them in the case, and then connect quickly with whatever is around when you take them back out. KEWLNESS: nice feature of the app is to "find" a lost earbud. I guess if you are out running and one of the earbuds falls out and you don't realize this has happened until later (huh? @@@@@@@ then the app will help you locate your lost earbud. Nice concept but who the heck wouldn't know that an earbud fell out? Maybe I'm missing the point here? CONTROLS: similar to other wireless earbuds, there are not quite as many controls available with only two buttons (one on each earbud) to use. Volume up/down by pushing the buttons requires going into the app and changing the button configuration. That's OK, but then you lose the play/pause, answer call, etc. functions that are set by default. As with other sets of wireless earbuds, you trade some control functions due to less room for "standard" sets of control buttons. Not better than other earbuds, not worse, just different and par for the course for wireless-ness. BUT... as advertised by Jaybird, these are made for listening to audio files and NOT NOT NOT for use when viewing any type of video. This was the one disappointment from these earbuds, and considering the price point was really a big disappointment. I feel kind of silly having to change out these wireless earbuds for a set that is considerably less in price to avoid the LAG LAG LAG between the video and audio when viewing a video. OK that Jaybird stresses the "use when working out or running and etc.. ." use of these earbuds, but honestly a big let-down to miss out on some of the functionality that could (or should) be there considering the price. If you don't plan to use these for watching video, and understand that they are never going to be usable for watching video, then by all means this is a premium product that should not disappoint. Otherwise, keep looking.
