Barely different from just turning up the volume on the TV itself. Even worse, this would only connect using an optical cable which I had to buy separately. In case you're wondering, it's not just me. It took Geek Squad time to figure everything out.

I would suggest you purchase one with a sub which you can't add to this one. Seems a bit light on the lower end.
