The subwoofer on the other hand has poor quality base. On even the low setting it rumbles and has no solid thump. I don't know if this is normal or not, but neither my wife nor I like it in the least.

Let's try to reset the soundbar by pressing and holding the Volume +, Volume -, and Source buttons on the soundbar's top panel until the text display shows reset.
