Subwoofer cuts out too often

We really enjoyed watching movies again now that we had the great sound to match our 4K TV. After about a week, I started to notice that the bass sounds would cut out for a second or two and then come back. I decided to move the subwoofer around the room to see if it would have a better connection anywhere else. The best spot I found for it was right in front of the soundbar (literally in the middle of our living room). Even in that awkward location, the subwoofer would still cut out. I reached out to JBL support, and we couldn't find a solution. I asked if this is a defective unit and if I should exchange for the same new model, and the support representative said that I'll probably experience the same thing if I exchanged for the same model. I really enjoyed the sound when it worked, but it is hard to listen to when the bass cuts out all the time. I have to return this to see if another manufacturer doesn't have this issue.
