Bought last year, sound at is good, but have had nothing but trouble with the subwoofer constantly making a cracking sound! Tried everything to fix, but now I just keep it unplugged.

Terrible sound from the sound bar itself. Bass sounded great. Possibly defective due to open box as I know JBL is typically top of the line with speakers.

I literally bought the $900 sonos, the $300 samsung, the Bose tv soundbar and $500 sub and this one sounded better than all of them. Definitely worth the buy!!!

This system is easy to set up. Just plug and play. Unfortunately the sound is not good. The bass really is powerful as advertised. If all you care about is special effects, then this is great. If you enjoy music or human speech however, it is terrible. There's no mid-range, even for the speaker size. I realize it's just a bar and I'm not comparing it to a full size set up with an amplifier or anything: the last setup I had was the same format: one bar and one subwoofer. It had much, much better sound but died after years of hard use. Maybe if they added equalizer effects the speakers could bring out those mid range sounds?... but they simply don't on their own. I tried opera, violin concertos, Grateful Dead, heavy metal, Frank Sinatra, etc.. (not first time samples, but favorites from my library). Oddly enough it seemed to hit a sweet spot with one Astrud Gilberto recording, but that was the only one I found that was tolerable. The sound is painfully thin, almost tinny. My $40 logitech computer speakers sound better, except of course for the deep base. Bought it today, returning tomorrow. I now know better than to trust the CNET reviewers. I think they only care about explosions and video games.

I've bought JBL products before and have always been happy until this. It sounds fine and when it works but we've had connectivity problems off and on. It doesn't seem to matter which setting we use and all I really want is it to connect to our smart tv and stay but it seems to switch or turn off every once in awhile for no reason. Very disappointed that we'll have to trash it and buy a different brand.

I got this device and was totally in love with it for one year. As soon as the warranty on the device expires, it stops working. My speaker stopped working the day after my warranty ended. Exactly 1 day after the warranty expired. Quality of sound was good while it worked, but it will not last even a week after an year, if your device stops working before your warranty end date you are lucky, please save the bills so you can submit for a warranty request.
My friends bought an LG, Vizio and Samsung which are for the same price and lasts forever. I have seen no issues with their devices even after 2-3 years of daily use

Purchased this item based on lots of positive reviews, but I honestly can’t understand all of the high ratings, Really compressed sound stage and very little dynamic range. After trying to adjust the settings the unit went into demo mode and even support could not return it to a functioning state and told me to return it. Replaced it with a Yamaha for $50 more which absolutely blows this one away.

Beware with Black Friday purchases!!!

First of all I purchased this item during Black Friday weekend. I was so excited to get $100 off this item. Unfortunately when I brought it home I could see the box had been already opened and taped back together really poorly! Then sadly two of the cables were missing from the box. What's up with that? Was this a return, refurbished or open box item??? That is not what I paid for. I though I was paying for something brand new out of the box (with no missing parts). At that point I just decided to return it. SO DISSAPOINTED IN YOU BEST BUY. Getting my money back and shopping somewhere else!

This soundbar is no good. Has no bass at all. It only gives you the option of Low, Mid or High. No options of different sounds like sports, movies etc. If you want to hear any bass you need to turn it up quite high. I am returning this item right away.
