I have a 7.1 surround sound Onkyo receiver with nice floor standing speakers by Infinity along with a Klipsch center speaker and 12” subwoofer. I thought no way would a sound bar out do what I have. The JBL 5.1 has definitely outdone my 7.1. The only area the 5.1 falls a little short on is true surround which I have overhead and behind my upstairs 7.1. I have the JBL 5.1 in mine and my wife’s basement she-cave on an 85” Insignia. The JBL dominates and accentuates the gun shots, engines, bombs and dialogue so much better than my 7.1. The sound effects that are intended to be accentuated are just that on the JBL. I am shocked and pretty blown away. The 10” subwoofer is very powerful and the sound bar is crisp. The sound bar reaches audio levels the 7.1 can’t reach. I caught the JBL on sale at Best Buy. It has turned out to be one of my top purchases. I love Blu Ray Disc movies. I have started rewatching my movies to compare the experience on the 7.1. All of them watched so far have been much better on the JBL 5.1 including U-571, Scarface, Saving Private Ryan and Hunter Killer. I have even ordered more Blu Rays for my library. Shocked! Outstanding!

I first bought the JBL 3.1 soundbar when we moved. I wanted the 5.1 but it was more than I had budgeted. Then this Xmas I got it on a "black fri deal" . I love listening to music on YouTube. It's like having a stereo set up. You can adjust the bass to your liking. Easy set up & I recommend it.

I bought this on sale for a gift for my husband. He wanted to take it back until he read the reviews and saw the great price I paid for it. I love JBL products. Amazing sound and bass. Hook up was easy too.

To start, ill say things like connectivity, ease of use, and actual performance, is just beyond top notch. The second i plugged in both the sounbar and subwoofer, they instantly connected to my LG TV. After that all you have to do is tinker around with your personal preferences. Instructions were very clear as well. Very, very clear super highs and quiet lows, with five different levels of bass adjustment(1-5). Ive had other samsung, LG and even the sonos bars, and nothing even comes close in even just the bass category, not to mention clarity and ease of use. JBL is by far the best, you wouldn’t and shouldn’t be disappointed at all.

I love the sound and easy setup. Using it with A Sony 55" Oled TV, I was using the Sony TV audio thru Pioneer Receiver but the sound was not that good. The audio from the Sony TV as is, was better but lacking the bass. Added this JBL 5.1 surround with the wireless subwoofer , hula... the TV sound comes alive when watching TV. it's Alexa compatible and been playing my amazon music thru it. Not using the Pioneer receiver with 3.1 Bose speaker anymore for TV and Music.

This is a great combo for the money. It will really rock your room. The sub-woofer goes deep. The bar itself really improves the sound from the internal TV speakers. I really like not having to run wires for the sub. That alone cleans up the installation. Also, my unit is plugged directly into the TV out which automatically regulates the volume. I literally set the bass to my liking and have'nt had to bother with included remote since. Everyone's taste is different. But from my point of view, you can't go wrong with this one.

Sound is clear. Bass is booming!! Shakes the whole room even at the lowest setting. Remote is kinda weak tho.. gotta get within 10ft for it to work

Booming Bass for a great price! At first I was hesitant to get this because it lacks Atmos, but honestly for my price range this was the way to go. This thing has great bass and really good quality audio overall. For my living room setup (1000sq ft home), it's more than enough. Wish had a bit more features on the remote but it does have the essentials. Wish it had presets like movie mode, game mode, etc.

The bass is absolutely monstrous. For what I paid for this then ($250), this is a whole unit all around. Action movies are a blast to rewatch. Feels like you’re in the action. And music…on a whole different level. I invite my friends just to show it off. Best purchase so far!!

For the price - $259 - can't beat it. We have a regular sized living room and hooked it up to my 77" LG B4 and together have massively upgraded our viewing experience. It does boom with bass and the accompanying soundbar does what it's supposed to. It is awesome. Just deducted a star for no just standard eualization. However, you can adjust the bass. Going to 5 shakes the floor, but not in an overwhelming way...in a goodtheatric way. Great buy and recommend.

Sounds amazing! My first soundbar and so far it has blown away my expectation of how it would sound. Suprisingly rich and theatre quality bass. It tunes itself so after you play with it a bit you figure out what sounds best! Only reason im giving four stars is it shuts off when not being used and with small children i have to lock away the remote.

Fantastic sound bar. Still holds up today. I thought it sounded great, then I watched a movie “True Lies” and the Dolby kicked in Holy Cow! I wasn’t expecting it to sound this good. The sub can rattle the windows and you can adjust from 5 different settings. It’s also smart enough to due the heavy lifting so just plug and play it will produce the best sound available from the input. So happy I picked this up from a steal of deal from an open box purchase.

Absolutely love this sound bar nice crip sound nice deep bass for watching movies my only negative review is that the surround sound speakers need to be recharged relatively quick always plugging them back into the sound bar to recharge otherwise awesome sound bar with wireless 10 inch sub

Great sound bar and was an easy set up… works amazing!!

Im not usually one for soundbars, ill always love surround sound systems. But my other half refused to have wires and a big reciever in the room with speakers around so I optd for a soundbar. We went to our local best buy to their displays setup and tested all the bars they had for testing. Now granted the quality they had in store vs out of box is uncomparable as they set it up specific to the enviornment I'd assume. However, setup was pretty straight forward the woofer connected automatically once plugged in everything worked as it should in the manual it tells you to do a room setup which we did after said and done the break in period began we went a month with low volume (nothing above 15 woofer at default which is 3) after that month slowly went up higher and higher with woofer varying to max level (5) this thing was amazing! From Music to Movies to TV shows this bar and woofer are fantastic music I keep the woofer at 3/4 and movies i ramp it to 5 with volumes at 20+ most times. It begins to sound like the BB display setup only issue I've ran into just user error is putting the subwoofer in a corner the bar had clear access to it but it'd break up time to time put it next to the bar and it fixed the issue. Id recommend this setup from other more expensive setups.

I had been looking for a new soundbar for awhile but was unable to find one with decent quality under $250. I purche this one as the deal of the day and it was a steal at $219. Easy set up, great 5.1 sound quality, and very good bass. One of the best value purchases I have made in a while.

Great sound and substantial bass. makes movies more immersive and plays music in excellent quality. very happy that it supports ARC (not mentioned in product description). works more seamlessly with my tv and apple tv than my previous sound bar that would randomly disconnect or change source; none of those issues occur with the JBL.

Our old JBL 3.1 soundbar went out after 7 years (worked awesome), originally i got the JBL 2.1 soundbar but the bass wasn’t nearly as comparable to the old one. Decided to return it for this one & im so glad i did! The quality is awesome. My only complaint is my old soundbar would auto connect to my phone and this one doesn’t but that could be user error as i haven’t messed with it much. Easy to mount & connect to our tv.

I spent a thousand dollars on the samsung 800q symphony soumdbar amd wasn’t impressed at all, clear bar very little bass. Sold it amd bought this jbl 5.1 sounbar and night and day difference with it. Bar is clear and the bass is definitely there, i live in a apartment so i cant have it up that much because the bass is that serioudly loud. Worth every penny.
