I bought this soundbar because it’s a JBL and they’re great on bluetooth speakers, well first of all it won’t replace your 5.1 speaker like it suggests, til this day I can’t hear the virtual surround sound which they mentioned on their packaging. It sounds great, the bass from the subwoofer is loud but the soundbar itself is not loud enough and dont be fooled by the 5.1 virtual sound it just a gimmick i cant hear it neither do my guest. I will be replacing this for a true atmos Bose system soon, this just dont do well for movies but it’s great for music tho. also i love that you can add this speaker to your Alexa speaker so it will add bass to your Alexa speaker if connected to a group.

When I first started using this soundbar, I was initially blown away by the bass and overall sound. As I was watching a movie, I started to notice issues. Voices were quiet and background sound effects were loud in some parts, while the voices were loud in other parts. My initial reaction was to turn up the volume to hear the voices in the quieter parts, but then a louder part of the movie happened and it was extremely loud. After some research in the manual and online forums, I figured out this is being done by JBL’s “Smart Mode.” Although you can turn this feature off, which fixed all of the issues with the sound, the soundbar automatically turns Smart Mode back on anytime the soundbar is turned off and back on. There are also no EQ adjustments that can be done through the app, that’s purely to help you connect it to WiFi and to check for updates. I called JBL tech support. The agent did some research and found that they have received a number of complaints about the Smart Mode feature, the way it makes things sound, and not being able to permanently turn it off. He said they are currently working on a software update to make it possible to turn it off permanently, but they are unsure of when it will become available. This is a deal breaker for me. If I am not sure that I will be able to clearly hear what I’m watching from one moment to the next because software is trying to be smart, then I need to be able to permanently turn off this feature and JBL needs to fix it. I love this soundbar’s bass, volume, and overall clarity when Smart Mode is off, but this Smart Mode feature ruins everything. This device is too expensive to have this kind of flaw. I will be returning it to get another brand since all JBL soundbars have this Smart Mode feature.

This is much better than my previous, Bose, soundbar. The sound fills the room quite well. The sub produces enough bass to feel like you are in a theater. I would recommend this to anyone looking for quality sound, whether it’s for movies or music.

Easy to set up. I mounted mine directly under my 75 inch Samsung. The sound is amazing. The bass has 5 levels which go well with movies and music

I have never used anything other than tv sound before this, I’m very happy with this system. It works well even though my tv is terrible and makes movies, music, and gaming more enjoyable and immersive. Giving 4 stars for ease of set up because I Needed to use a special cable in order to hook it up to my tv and needed help from a very tech savvy friend.

I really like the sound quality and the subwoofer shakes the walls like i was hoping for ! JBL makes a great product, very pleased with my purchase !

Strong bass and good front sound. Amazingfor the price. 5.1 channels is useless because surround sound is ineffective. Tried the calibration routine, still no effect. Sounds great for normal viewing and music, just don't expect simulated surround.

Easy setup, great sound! Really enhances the experience, as most tvs made now have the speaker pointed down. The subwoofer sounds great and adds perfect bass to movies, etc.

We've only had this for a short time but so far it is excellent. Good sound quality and no delay between speakers. Very easy set up.

Setup to sitting down was maybe 15 minutes total. Flawless, bass is amazing and voices are clear at low volume. Awesome as always.

This sound-bar is a definitely the best sound bar I heard in this price range the bass is so clear and punchy when it needs to the soundbar is crystal clear and the surround sound is decent but the true surround kit is always going to sound better It was super easy to set up out of the box with a app JBL Bar Setup it was super simple it automatically finds the bar and then let you choose a name which for some reason didn’t apply for me so I had to manually change it later which was confusing but once you got it connected to your wifi it up and ready to go and yes you can use this without the smart features and without wifi Which is awesome especially nowadays everyone trying to make you use their services to use their product but I’m little annoyed it didn’t come with optical cable but it comes with hdmi e arc The The sound when your playing games the sub really punches on high volume it shakes the whole house and you can feel it in the chest when you are shooting a gun The soundbar is super bright sounding making it like movies vocal stand out and like mechanical sounds and cars flying by sound so good and with the smart surround you can hear the car around you

I've had my eye on the 5.1 soundbar & wireless subwoofer for a while now and I couldn't be more impressed with the sound quality this system has. I was really surprised that there was a sound configuration setup so that the soundbar could adapt to the room/setup it sits in. I would say that this system could be just a little louder, but that's when we're watching a virtual concert. We have the volume above average level for music and TV and sound is perfect. Bass out of the subwoofer is absolutely amazing when playing music. I personally love a loud bass and only keep the bass level on a 3 (out of 5!).

Great sound and easy set up. Very impressed and I really like that you can adjust the amount of bass. Worth the price.

I’ve been looking for the teen kids something in the playroom. After returning the Sonos Ray and Vizio M213ad-k8 I knew that I was going to have to get something with a subwoofer and this JBL had all the checks. It’s night and day at what a little more low end can bring to the table and the fact that the JBL is a few more inches wider and seems to throw out a much larger listening environment. It’s not as good as my true 5.2.2 media room but overall I have enjoyed the sound quality of the JBL .

Very easy setup. Great sound. Really perfect set up for my room. Love it and price was awesome since I Bought it open box i saved like $300.

Very good sound bar and wireless subwoofer. Price was great which is why I decided to give it a try and I'm not disappointed.

My family purchased this along with a 75" Samsung TV. It turned out to be an amazing set; setup is easy, and the sound is great. It really brings out the bass in movies.

The sound from this sound bar is outstanding. I love the woofer being right next to where I sit. When there is an exciting sound on the TV, I can feel it as though I was in the theater.

The soundbar is compact and does not draw attention to it. The subwoofer is nice to look at. Most importantly these work very well I am able to hear my TV without issue now.
