We love this. Our home is wired with in ceiling speakers (stereo) and Control 4 whole home remote control when we purchased it. The Control 4 gurus were not able to provide us with the control we wanted of our audio/video gear at a reasonable price so we opted to buy the JBL 9.1 bar. The only thing I wished it had is a way to plug in the satellites to power. This thing works great for the TV watching and music in our main room. We are fortunate to have a home theatre also for watching movies. It has a totally separate system.

We listened to ALOT of surround sound systems and this by far blew the others away. The sound is movie theater quality. It may seem pricey at first but by the time you add all the individual pieces together from other systems to match this one it’s really not. The detachable rechargeable speakers were the deciding selling point. No wires. We plugged the sound bar and subwoofer in for power and ran the hdmi cord to the tv and it was ready to set up. Tv remote controls volume so we still only have to use one remote.

Very nice for smaller room but went for Sonos instead. Still would recommend to give it a try

After more than a year of owning this I will say it's truly an amazing system. The clarity and richness of sound are beyond my expectations for a soundbar. The build quality is fantastic. The price was higher than most other items I was looking at but the feature set set me on it. The mobile rear speaker make it ideal for my setup as I didn't have a good position to install speakers. If I had to do it all over again I would buy them. My neighbors though may want me to make a different selection.

This is a good sound bar it has strong highs and bass. Watching Dolby atmos is amazing that subwoofer is the strongest in the market. Now as great as it is it lacks technology. It’s rears sound good but they do seem to loose signal. There’s no app for and not much customization with highs. Definitely great for someone wanting something basic. It sounds great playing atmos with speakers docked and better when placed behind you. Did I return it yes but it’s been the best sound bar thus far. Better than sonos arc

By far the best sound bar out there....I love how rich the bass is.....clean sound as well....I give it a 10.....out off 10....best buy so far.....lol

This is a great sound bar with powerful dynamics, surround performance, and sound quality. The reason I didn’t keep it and gave to a family member was due to the downward-facing sub and no way of customizing it with sound enhancements. It’s disappointing for a sound bar that is $1K. However, I feel the room correction feature helped with this a bit but I personally like settings of preference. The subwoofer does a nice job with bass and rumble but even in an apartment building that is near sound proof, it’s not a great option to have.

Amazing sound. Easy to use. Looks great. Bluetooth speakers hold the charge for time stated. Well worth the price. Fun addition to a basement "Man Cave".

I put this up against the Definitive Technology 3D mini. I had a W Studio from Definitive Technology, and it was a good soundbar. The 3D mini was impressive - for its size. If you want a small, unobtrusive quality soundbar go for the 3D mini. I was looking for more well rounded sound. Where the 3D mini sounded a little small, the JBL Bar 9.1 sounded more well rounded, fuller. I would say the JBL has better mid-range and low end. The JBL has worse app support - no app, really. The 3D mini has the HEOS app which gives you a remote on your phone.

This is the best sound bar that ive ever owned. It blows samsung out of the water, sound is crisp, the bass is incredible. Being able to position the wireless speakers around the living room bring any feature film to life. Easy to install and connect. The couch rumbling experience made this purchase well worth it i would recommend to anyone the price may be toward the higher side of the spectrum but well worth it

My husband and I were in Best Buy purchasing an item unrelated to this one when my husband heard the sound from across the store. We walked over to the area where the sound was coming from. A salesman demonstrated the system and my husband was hooked. I bought the system as a Father's Day gift for my husband. He loves it! It has excellent sound quality. When you watch a movie you think you're at the theater. The sound is so realistic one day my husband and I could not tell if it was the thunder outside or was it the television.

OMG! What a spectacular system this is! Easy hook up and connections, crystal clear sound and after a two hour movie, I was in AWE of it’s performance compared to my other sound bars. This is by far the best system I have ever had. I have other 5.1 JBL systems connected to an amplifier and this new 9.1 system blows it all away. No wonder JBL is used in more movie theatres across the world than any other brand. Great Job JBL!

When I went to Best Buy looking for a soundbar the Rep showed me the JBL 9.1. But I had my mind made up on a different one about $150 less. That was my first mistake, but I quickly corrected that mistake and went back for the JBL. Gets very loud, Bass is solid for action movies! Rear speakers that are wireless if you want them....no wires! I could go on all day about this system, this is my third soundbar and is hands down the best one I have owned!

i have owned this JBL 9.1 system for about a month now. Incredible sound and effect. As an owner of another surround sound system, Boes, after moving to another house, I found that installing wires for my rear speakers was not something I wanted to do. This JBL system and its 2 wireless rear speakers and wireless sub-woofer combined with the Dolby Atmos effect stereo make me very happy. Only drawback is music playback on system seams to vary in quality depending on source used: I/E Streaming vs. Digital playback. Experiment. Setting this system up is a jno brainer.

The jbl has been the perfect purchase for how preferences. We did not want a lot of clutter in terms of sound equipment but wanted a good sound system for our tv. This works out with the detachable speakers which can easily be put back. Would say the detachable speaker part was really what sold us. The most impressive part to me was the bass. Def really deep with house shaking ability. It really transforms the content you are watching. One downside so far is having a little trouble connecting it to the Apple home system but other than that super impressive.

Ive had this sound bar and i have to say im impressed by more than just the sound. The fact its virtually wireless was oje of my favorite buying points. The speakers attach charge. The charge from what i can tell last 3-6 hours. Also these speakers can hook to wifi or wired internet. It comes completenw mounting brackets for above or below tv. How do they sound? For the price and convenience of next to no wires, they sound amazing. Ev3n my neighbors can hear the movie, which means i can feel the movie. I recommend this sound bar.

My husband and I tried out the JBL 9.1 while shopping for home theatre systems in the store and fell in love with it. It has totally changed our movie experience at home. Sleek looking and terrific sound. Love that you can charge the surround speakers by just attaching them to the center speaker. We have it in our double height family room (about 28 ft x 22 ft) and it sounds great. Its a bit pricey but has been worth it so far.

It’s an average item. Seen better home theaters with better quality for the same price. Also came with no controller which is another 100 bucks I’m going to have to waste. And when I called to say I wasn’t informed that it came with no controller, they said if you want you can return it to any BestBuy store because of the price I paid. Anyways didn’t like the service.

Sounds fantastic for music and Dolby Atmos on movies! Good deep bass that doesn't drown out the mids and lows!
