    Would not recommend at all! The sound is completely off ,while during action scenes it sounds amazing, once it’s done the dialogue sounds muffled. so I found myself turning the volume up/and down through out the whole movie! This product does not have an equalizer or movie/sport/music mode... so you cannot adjust the voice dialogue... I even tried to put the optical wire so I can turn the speakers on my TV up while the sound bar volume on a different setting but it distorted the whole sound... ended up returning it two day later

      Thanks for your feedback about our JBL Bar 9.1. Please make sure that the speaker in your TV is muted or the built-in TV speaker is disabled. Another factor that could be causing the distortion is that the audio and video are not synchronized. Please enable the audio sync function to synchronize audio and video. To enable this, press and hold "TV" for more than three seconds on the remote control. Then, press +. Within five seconds, press + or - on the remote control to adjust the audio delay and match with the video. The audio sync timing is displayed.     I really want this to work with my system. Could not get lip sync, it was off no matter how many new cables I tried. Great concept, just didn’t work for me.

    Good value if it works. Very innovative and convenient surround solution. However my surround speakers got very noticeable hissing noise which made me returned it.

    Sub woofer did not work - had to return it. The system itself was very nice set up. Sound bar and back speakers sounded great. Too bad sub was a dud.

    It’s super especially in 4K atmos. Functions are really good and remote is very functional. But I like to adjust treble too . That option is not available in remote

    Detachable and totally Wireless rear surrounds are a good feature and Subwoofer is robust but overall sound is lacking in the high frequencies. Music sounds dull and I can’t hear the metal tinging when Iron Man changes his suit.

    I upgraded to the JBL BAR 9.1 from an LG 3.1 soundbar. It was a huge upgrade! To start, the setup was quick and easy. You simply plug in the HDMI cable, power cable to the soundbar, and power cable to the sub. Initially, you need to charge the two detachable rear speakers for three hours. This can be done while you're using the soundbar. After they have charged, you remove the rear speakers and complete the calibration process. This is easy and is in the quick start guide. I have the soundbar under the TV, the two rear speakers next to the couch and I decided to place the sub behind the couch. Although they chose to call it a 9.1 system, it's really a 5.1.4 setup. This is 5 forward-firing speakers, 1 subwoofer, and 4 upward-firing speakers. Be warned, the subwoofer is huge. At 10", the ported box measures roughly 12" x 17" x 12" and it's fairly heavy. Make sure you have enough room for it. After the calibration process, I watched regular TV shows with it. With the ATMOS set on high, rear speakers on high and the sub at level 5 (max), it sounded great. Although, I will say that at these levels dialog can get lost in the sound a little bit. You will need to tweak these settings to find what works for you. Next, I put on Top Gun, and while it is an old movie that came out long before ATMOS was a thing, it sounded great. You truly get the feeling that sound is coming from everywhere. Next, I watched John Wick, which has Dolby ATMOS. Being a movie that I've seen several times, I can say that watching it with the JBL BAR 9.1 completely changed it. My living room was filled with sound. With the rear speakers in place, I was able to hear distant sounds and be able to pinpoint exactly where they were. It is a completely different movie-watching experience when the sound has "height". You're able to pick up on far more tiny details that just wouldn't be heard with TV speakers or a traditional soundbar. As far as the sub (bass), it fills the room and you feel it. It's not just the basic flat "boom" that you get with most soundbar subs. This thing rumbles and has depth to it. The soundbar is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capable, so you can stream music through it as well. The Wi-Fi also lets the soundbar receive updates. As soon as I connected it, it performed an update. This is great since it can be continuously improved. For music, it sounds great and it can get very loud. With the sub all the way at level 5, it was punchy bass and I'm sure that for the brief moment that I had the volume turned up, my neighbors knew exactly what I was listening to. I haven't seen another soundbar that has a sub anywhere near this good. With my old soundbar, you could barely tell that it was on. I did run into an issue with the soundbar. Occasionally, the sound would drop out briefly (about half a second), and then "DOLBY SURROUND" would scroll across the soundbar's screen twice. I have no idea why. I unplugged it, plugged it back in, and recalibrated it several times. I eventually had to email JBL support and they were able to give me some steps to correct the problem. So far, it hasn't done it again. I'm sure that it being setup for ATMOS that major tweaks would completely change the experience, however, I do wish that JBL had included even a basic EQ for this soundbar. I would even take having options for "TV mode" and "movie mode" or something like that. Where "TV mode" would boost the dialog a little and "movie mode" would give you the complete theater ATMOS experience. I can't say that I would spend this kind of money just to watch TV, but if you're a movie buff, then it is absolutely worth it, especially as more movies will become available with ATMOS. You will not regret it.

    Loved the look, loved the sound, loved the idea... I did not love that I bought two of them and returned each one due to different issues. The first one, the one satellite speaker didnt work. The second jad some type of power issue. It wouldnt turn on with the TV all of the time and would kick out the sub. I would then have to unplug the whole system, plug it back in and then turn the tv on and it would work...

    Good sound bar. Music sound is awesome with Great bass. Movie sound is average. Sounds great when working but too many glitches.

    DO NOT BUY!!! I have 2 of them and they're not worth it. They work great for a few months but then they stop producing sound. I have the geek squad protection plan and they're telling me they gotta send it out and ill receive it in about 6 weeks. Unless you want to deal with the headache, then don't buy this piece of junk.

    I purchased this sound bar about 3 weeks ago and have finally decided to give up on it. Out of the box the right speaker did not work. I tried everything I could think of. I reset the soundbar, I let the speaker die, I connected it using USB, I left the speaker plugged into the soundbar for 3 days, and saw no improvement. The other issue is the sound would cut out frequently. The only way to get sound back was to switch inputs on the soundbar. Resetting the soundbar did nothing as well. I may consider purchasing this soundbar if they can resolve these issues, as it was the best sounding soundbar compared to lg, Sony, or Samsung.

    If you really need a wireless setup for your TV, this product works great! The instructions are a bit too simplistic/confusing. Make sure to google for proper calibration.

    Have been having several issues with connection since the beginning. The soundbar gets disconnected from the TV often. It randomly mutes and then gets fixed with a reset. It never calibrates, always keep asking to 'Retry'. I must say the sound is impressive but wouldnt expect such issues with a premium sound system.

    Great sound - but will not pair with my Sony 65" OLED TV consistently. Problem is clearly with sound bar, because if I unplug it and plug it back in, it works fine. JBL help continues to try to blame it on the TV, but it is clearly an issue with the sound bar.
