True surround sound for under 1000. Nice. Better than the Sony 3.1 bar with surrounds. Better than the Samsung 3.1 bar with optional surrounds. Only downside is the remote and its functions are whack. Having to hold one button then press another button to change sound modes is weird.

After looking at this surround sound for over a year and seeing the price go up, we found it on sale and bought it. Our old system wouldn’t work with the newer model TV so we needed a replacement. This is much more compact in size and humongous in sound. This was an excellent choice. Sound bar is just under the TV and the subwoofer below that. The two rear speakers are blue tooth and rechargeable so they can be placed anywhere. However you can buy power cables for them so you can plug them in roan electrical outlet which we will do. This JBL sound system is excellent and perfect for our needs.

This is an excellent upscale soundbar which, once I properly configured the SAMSUNG 4K TV is was attached to it, delivers fantastic sound. I thought the magnetic detachable rear speakers were a gimic, but the first time I popped them off to put them behind our chairs, I was amazed at the difference. It really makes an immersive sound environment where the crashing of ice hockey players against the boards and the crack of puck on the stick makes it sound like you are on the ice! I now love the detachable speakers and that will be on my must have list for any future soundbar. It integrates well with the TV turning on and off and also works with phones and other bluetooth devices.

Easy Setup. Works Great right out of the box. Bass has 5 different "preset" levels. Most Movies are quite thunderous at preset 3. Music is just as good. use the wireless surrounds for a 2.5 hour movie in Dolby Atmos without any issues, and sound was great.

The sound is crystal clear and fills the room. Easy set up, and the detachable side speakers help adjust to your wants and needs in every situation. My only gripe is that every once in a heat while, the sound cuts out for a half a second. Could be user error

This system is one of the best soundbars I've ever heard. The sound does envelope you and it fills a room very well and this is at lower volume levels also. The side speakers are truly wireless and then can be reconnected to the soundbar to charge when you're done. This makes this indeed a truly wireless system and you can keep it this way if you connect a micro USB charger and adapter to side speakers. No wires, no mess to worry about with this system. The only cons are that there is only ONE HDMI port for connecting a second device. The center speaker can sometimes sound muffled for hearing voices clearly which can force you to turn the volume up louder. Also, there's no EQ to adjust the sound settings. This may not be a con for some but it will be for others since you can't adjust for treble, etc. Overall, this soundbar is VERY good and you will be satisfied.

Great sound bar with dolby atmos technology. The suwoofer and 2 rear speaker are wireless, so it is very easy to place behind the room. I did not give 5 stars because it does not many sound setting functions. Overall, it sound great with movies.

The unit has very good sound quality. The only issue I am having is that on occasion it stops working and I have to go through a bit of a process to get it going again. It is a connectivity issue.

So far so good. We recently upgraded our soundbar from a basic LG to this. We tried the Sony HTST-5000 first and it just lacked the power i felt a $1200-$1499 soundbar should give you. Then i tried the JBL 5.1 and was really impressed with what it gave you for $399 (now on sale for $299). So with that being said, i still wanted something with surround and Dolby atmos support. Man does this thing have some power. The ability to have TRUE wireless surround with the detachable speakers whenever you NEED it is amazing. Now if you’re looking for something with surround speakers on all of the time, then this is not for you. The 10” included sub is also very thumping and having the bar and sub at HALF volume is loud enough for us. We got this on sale as an open box so i can’t say if it’s worth the full $999 or the current sale price of $799 but so far we are Very impressed and will update if anything changes.

Absolute awesome sound bar! I was hesitant at first to pay the price for it but am glad I did. The sound is incredible and the ability to have surround sound is great. The subwoofer is huge too and produces a great amount of bass.

When we moved into a new house we realized it did not have conveniently placed walls or outlets for surround speakers. Our previous home had surround sound in the ceiling and was fully wired. My goal was 2 fold: 1, find a solution that reduced the gaggle of wires and eliminated the receiver in favor of my phone or other streaming device for music and 2 allowed for surround sound without wires or power supply at the rear speaker. This sound bar is the perfect solution. Sound quality and power are excellent. Rear speakers have plenty of life to get through a day, we just reconnect at bed time or first thing in the morning if we have detached for watching TV/movies. I honestly feel like I have not given up the high quality sound I was used to and have greatly reduced the confusion of wires. Happy to have moved on to newer technology in spite of the price tag.

Waited too long to listen to crisp stereo surround. Sound. The detachable speakers and the thump of the bass, makes it exciting the way movies are watched.I am a huge fan of JBL products and would advised everyone to have this sysem in their TV room

Amazing sound, balance and clarity for a soundbar. Really like the detachable speakers to get the 7.1.2 sound and feel. Setup was really easy. Wish there was some more configuration and customization, but overall very happy with my purchase!

I was not looking for a sound at and especially not one at this price point. Never thought I’d spend that much but let me tell you, I don’t regret spending any penny of it. This things is AWESOME for movies and music. The Dolby surround sound gives us movie theater vibes, has my pictures shaking on my wall from that subwoofer. The wireless speaker batteries last 10 hours in surround mode and they magnetically snap back on to the sound bar to recharge. My only complaint of this system is that there are no equalizer settings or different sound modes to choose from, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of a perfect 5. I would love to be able to change equalizer settings when I’m listening to different genres of music. Other than that, this system is a serious bang for the buck

Great surround sound with no wires. After doing a ton of research on sound bars, I settled on the JBL 9.1 and glad I did. Fills the room with rich sound. Excellent and easy to set up.

Surrounds our 15x15 space with window shaking sound, thick deep sub-woofer. Had to immediately update soundbar software to achieve Dolby Atmos on NetFlix, Prime, etc. did so via Goggle Home app, took about 10 minutes.

I purchased this as a present for my husband. By far, the best product I have invested in. The quality is like no other. He loves it while watching sports, movies, or listening to music from his phone.

Awesome product, surprising performance! I tested several systems at Best Buy and for the price, this one outperformed others that were a few hundred more. Super easy setup.

I have now had this for over a year now and I'm very satisfied with the sound quality. I used to have a separate Dolby Atmos 7.1 receiver and speakers. This has significantly simplified my setup while still delivering great sound. I had a few issues early on that seem to have been resolved with system updates. However, it still on rare occasions will not turn on, requiring me to unplug the power for a few seconds. I like the rechargeable rear speakers and the sub is very impressive even at higher volumes. I have the Sonos Arc with sub and surrounds in another room. This comes close in sound quality at a much lower overall price. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great sounding Atmos Soundbar.

Very very easy setup and sync to existing devices. I love the detachable speakers and the power is phenomenal, especially the bass. I want one in every room I have a flat screen T.V.
