I like this soundbar very much! Using it with an epsom projector via Bluetooth. The rear speakers have to be charged on the main soundbar. Not sure but right speaker isn’t holding charge as long. Still testing but overall a fantastic experience.

love love love this. If you turn the surround sound off and use this for music, you can scatter the detachable speakers in other rooms for a full effect. Its awesome while cleaning. Games sound epic when I set up the surround sound with my ps4 pro. Still think it's overpriced @ 900. $750 would be fair and what I assume this will be ok black Friday this year.

Sound bar sounded horrible at first. After some research, found out it defaults to simulated surround (smart mode) no matter what the source is and the only way to turn it off is to use a secret key combination (hold mute button for 5 seconds then volume up). Would be okay but if you turn the sound bar off or it goes to sleep, you have to do the process again. JBL is aware of the issue but no firmware update as of yet. For the price of the sound bar, I should be able to set it and forget it. Or, at the bare minimum, have a single button to push and not have to go through forum after forum to find the secret combination to turn "smart" mode off. I've used JBL for years in their pro audio speakers, amps, etc. Just expected more for a premium price.

I love it very Nice great sound great base great surround sounds. Makes my TV AND MUSIC SOUND AWESOME!!!! Received it and good time, easy to setup. I wish I could by one of these in white. I love the detachable surround speakers, the sound is really good. Overall I would recommend this to anyone. A really great system .

I upgraded from a definitive audio sound bar with Dolby Atmos that I had for about four years, the moment I pluged the JBL bar in with the E arc from my LG OLED it was a game changer hands-down best sound bar ive ever had definitely will recommend 10 out of 10

The speakers on each end of the JBL sound bar 9.1 they don’t last too long just one day and I got to be charged up the sound is decent I recommend getting a Bose For some reason I couldn’t take a photo of it with this app

Great sound overall. The smaller speakers have too be charged, i charged them Saturday night then by Tuesday night it told me too charge them by putting them to the soundbar and it had strong magnets. You can leave the speakers connected to watch TV or disconnect them for movies. Just remember to recharge them when needed.

Excellent soundbar with clean set up which is a plus for the spouse. Good atmos sounds for a sound bar and solid hdmi pass through of all audio formats . Only negative is a rare occasion of soundbar drop out through earc and passthrough of hdmi on a 4k uhd player, but perfect for streaming never has dropped off.

Bass on this is amazing. I know a "true" 5.1 setup is supposed to sound better, but I have no complaints, and I love that I didn't have to wire the rear speakers. Just bought some stands for the rear speakers and will place Ls and Rs speakers on those stands whenever we're watching films with surround.

Seriously the best soundbar I could have hoped for. Watched all the reviews, saw the pros/cons and in our space there were no issues that others have reported(low vocals and disconnecting rears). Worth every penny, the base is solid, and movies sound amazing.

After doing considerable research on the best soundbar to pair with my new Samsung Q90T TV, I decided to go with the JBL BAR 9.1 due to its innovative, detachable rear surround design, Dolby Atmos speakers, expert reviews, and the price point (under $1,000). Here’s what I’ve come to find after many hours of listening and testing: Greatness: The rechargeable battery powered rear surround speakers were a stroke of genius. Very innovative and it provides the flexibility to place the rear surrounds anywhere in your room without depending on a nearby electrical outlet or extension cord. Goodness: The sound quality is good, especially the base with the 10” sub-woofer. However, voices can be a little “tinny” at times and not as deep or full bodied as a stand-alone A/V receiver and speakers. You can turn off the smart mode to emphasize the vocal range, but there should be more EQ configuration options than just on or off. Failure: I purchased this system because I wanted to listen to Dolby Atmos enabled movies and shows available on Netflix and Amazon Prime, but after hours of research, testing and speaking to product/technical support at Geek Squad, Samsung, and JBL, it turns out the JBL BAR 9.1 soundbar isn’t currently compatible with the 2020 top-of-the-line Samsung Q90T TV. Huge disappointment! What’s worse is that Samsung and JBL keep pointing fingers at each other for this lack of compatibility so I don’t know which product needs to issue a firmware update to fix the problem. Right now, I need to decide whether to take a leap of faith and hope that Samsung and JBL will crack the compatibility nut, or return it and purchase a Samsung soundbar that will output Dolby Atmos audio, but may cost more and have an inferior design. Beware Samsung QLED TV owners before purchasing this soundbar.
