Great soundbar with detachable speakers that become back speakers. Amazing sound and booming wireless subwoofer that makes the room shake. It’s a bit pricey but worth it.

I have installed this system in my bedrood on a 65" Sony TV. The sound is excellent. I initially put the rear speakers behind my recliner, but the sound stage broadens when placed on either side of the bed's headboard. There is no sound cut out and movies streamed in high def or dolby atmos really wakes up the sytem. It also does an excellent job with music of all genre. Instead of reconnecting the rear speakers to the soundbar for charging, I've simply connected them with micro USB and they remain connected and charged all the time.

Nice sound quality but was not aware the detachable speakers only last 10 hrs before having to be attached back to the base for charging.

Very powerful sound, the bass is deep and the reason i dont give it 5 stars is because you cannot play with sound settings. You can only turn the bass up to 5 and the atmost with low, mid and high. Connecting to the internet was more work than i anticipated since the unit kept updating updating but finally after close to 30 min trying it finally connected. I have it set up on the front but when I watch a movie i put the 2 speakers behind on top of the couches and it does the job really well.

It’s really good for a sound bar. Key words there “for a sound bar”. It was a bandaid to not set up my big full blown home theater system in our new house for awhile. Obviously it can’t compete with that so I’m not entirely happy but for what it is it is pretty impressive. I’d say the old saying still stands true, there’s no replacement for displacement. It’s always in surround mode and you can only increase or decrease the rear speaker and atmos effects. Volume is louder than expected so that’s nice. Subwoofer does a decent job too and has low med. hi. Volume setting. The wireless rear speaker don’t seem to always charge. Not really sure why yet, might just be me. For movies and your favorite series this does fill the room with decent sound. Ok really good sound for what we’re working with here but I haven’t found it to be very good for music yet because I prefer plain stereo sound not stadium surround for music. To echoey for me. (Big open concept living room too however) I might need to play around with it more who knows. So to summarize this A.D.D. Moment I’d say if you want simple and clean surround sound with minimal effort this is a great setup for that. It fills the room pretty well with clean crisp sound for the money. If your looking for a fully immersive sound like a my merantz/def tech full blown system delivers then sound bars just aren’t there yet. About $6k cheaper too so there’s that to consider as well. Guess I’m just spoiled.

As an experienced audiophile over 2 decades, I am extremely picky about my audio. I needed something for the living room with vaulted ceilings and it was this or the much more expensive Sonos. Even though the Best Buy tech called the surround sound kind of a gimmick, I disagree. (probably because he wanted me to buy the Sonos which would have costed me about $1K more with surround speakers.) So let's get to it. First, it's JBL. JBL has a long history of making solid sound gear and this caught my I with not only the 9.1 channel Dolby Atmos support but the detachable surrounds are really an added bonus. Setup was incredibly easy, each speaker quickly recognized the bar and connected. The menu is easy to read on the bar and love the fact that I quickly have volume access for all speaker components so you can tweak how loud you want the bass and surrounds individually! Set this up with my SONY OLED through the ARC connection which helps control the bar easily with any remote. Now comes the sound- WOW. Put simply you will not be disappointed! The bass on this is nuts with a downward facing horn and the Dolby surround works beautifully. The highs are crisp and dialog through the center is near perfect. People have asked about the surrounds and how long they last since the are rechargeable. So far I have watched 2 movies in and the fam has had the TV on all day. No issues! They last. They easily recharge by simply plugging them back into the sound bar. The bar menu will also let you know when and if they need to be recharged. Mine hasn't yet so they last a long time. No lag in surrounds or bass either. Sounds are crisp, delivered well and brings an easy set up to the living room where I didn't want large bulky equipment. All in all I am extremely happy with my purchase. Hope you enjoy yours!

This sound bar will blow your mind! Your neighbors are gonna hate you. The bass is second to none. The only problem i had was getting the eARC to work with my sony bravia TV. I tried every setting on the tv but i kept having to unplug the sound bar every couple of days because no sound would come out of it. I did a little research and ended up buying Ultra High Speed HDMI cables and the problem went away. I would’ve used the cable that came with it but it was shorter than my “kanish”. I hope you enjoy it as much as i am.

Keep in mind that I still have the Walmart sound bar bc of a no box return. Came home from work one day in the box was trashed by my little one cleaning up the shed for video game money. Sound bar has great sound but it is nothing without a remote to control it....bass was to loud all the time. Tried universal remotes but did not control everything on bar including bass setting. JBL 9.1 is great sound bar in my opinion. The young man that helped me was very honest. I said to him, " I would not be back looking to upgrade just bc something new and better comes out." I just want something that sounds good. Dolby Atomos had my little brain going as he talked about it. Little did he know I had a cheap Walmart Sound bar that I bought out of the box that sounded way better then the Sony sound bar. I returned the Sony Back to Best buy. I was not settling, either that same sound I got from the cheap bar or nothing today. My Little attuited was corrected. I didn't Know , if I bought the two extra speakers I would have been happy. Got to have five speakers to get the Dolby Atoms People. Never judge a book buy its cover. I'm sure the Sony is a good sound bar but I'm very satisfied with the JBL 9.1 Channel sound bar. Very simple to hook up. You will need enough space for it bc its big. My family enjoys movie nights much better now. The bass is great and you will hear every little thing in the movie. Sound still tricks me on door bells and knocking on doors. I never had to turned up the volume past 20 for movies. The sound is crystal clear, trust me on that. If you want a sound bar with great satisfying sound get the JBL- 9.1 sound bar.

I like it but i have to unplug it and plug it back in just so the picture well work. Its really annoying. The sound quality is good though. It's just annoying that I have to unplug it and plug it back in just for it to work. And for it being 900 it should not have this problem..

Setup was easy, I connected it to the tv via an optical cable. My tv does not have eArc, so I cannot comment on the Dolby atmos aspects of the soundbar. A new tv is arriving next week which includes an eArc port, so I may be updating my review after that. The sound is awesome when it comes to music. The bass is really deep and LOUD. I do sense though that the center speaker which gives you a lot of dialog is not as pronounced as the other speakers. I also have to refresh the system quite often by unplugging and plugging in the power source to get the thing working. This is usually when the bar have been off for a while. I dont know if it has anything to do with the system charging up the rear speakers when the it is in standby mode. Speaking of the rear speakers, I love the ingenious magnet setup with the main bar. They sound great also. I did call the company about getting some end caps for the rear speakers, since they dont come with the bar, and they shipped them to me in less than a week, no charge. One last thing- the soundbar looks as great as it sounds!
