The perfect blend of home theater sound and easy set up. We love the detachable speakers and bass. It can really transform your movie watching experience without the hassle of wiring so many speakers. The detachable wireless speakers have a good battery life and they're easy to charge. I also love playing music because it can connect with other newer jbl speakers through Party Together. App is also awesome. I do not regret this purchase.

The calibration on this soundbar is very easy to use. The bass is awesome, the detachable speakers are amazing and the charge last for a very long time (days without needing to recharge). Sound is superb way for gaming and movies, plus Dolby Atmos! Found as an open item.

JBL BAR 1000 is JBL’s latest Home Theater Technology that has arrived taking immersive 3-D audio to the next level. Stunning new system design and performance that surrounds you with front stage experience. First thoughts on opening the JBL BAR 1000 7.1.4-channel soundbar was that it ties in with my entertainment center, blends in nicely with black accent décor’. Beyond the sound production the soundbar system looks fantastic. The JBL 1000 BAR arrives complete with all the accessories, hardware and wiring required to install, especially appreciate that wall mounting hardware is included and quite simple to install. The soundbar installed easily and can be wired in several different configurations, HDMI ARC, eARC and optical are supported. Optical cable not included but that is understandable with today’s HDMI eARC standards. Like the idea that optical is available which may come in handy. Setup. I first downloaded the very well-done BAR 100 Owner’s Manual from their website. The manual is comprehensive in wiring, diagraming seating and speaker placement, walking through the calibration (which the system performs), wall mounting, operation and any details related to the BAR 1000. Kudos on the manual. Installed JBL One app in to complete the installation which the app managed easily. JBL One provides tools for connecting streaming music services, managing play lists, and exploring other streaming services. Quite cool to walk into your home and punch up your favorite tunes. App has many options, a few are Equalizer, supported services for Alexa/Chromecast/Spotify, documentation, and product support. Good app. What knocks my socks off is the JBL BAR 1000 system pushes 880 watts of sound! It delivers the tunes with excellent tone from treble and mid-range to the deep rich bass the 10” wireless Woofer pushes. It is an amazing range of sound from a system that virtually blends into the background. Picked up the JBL bar 1000. I was quite surprised. Room-shaking bass that'll give your home theatre setup some serious oomph. The sound quality is fantastic. It's not just about the bass - the overall balance is great, As far as appearances go, it's sleek and modern, fitting seamlessly into my living room. Setting it up was a breeze. The detachable rear speakers were a big part of me choosing this sound bar - glad I did, they work great and no need to run wires or even power them! Ionis

I tempered my expectations unnecessarily after leaving the store with the BAR 1000 along with a new OLED TV purchase. I expected a definitive upgrade from the previous entry-to-mid range soundbar we used for years, but did not expect anything approaching a true A/V enthusiast grade experience. Audiophiles would argue we still do not approach that level, but as someone who typically resides on the cusp of appreciator and enthusiast, I would argue otherwise. A very good sounding bar, whether you are using it connected as a single unit or you separate the side speakers and go for the full surround experience. Coolest design I've seen in any bar. Truly wireless side/rear speakers that are painfully easy to take off and on and move around. As a family who did not want to hard-mount rear speakers or leave freestanding speaker stands out, this is working out brilliantly. For everyday watching, the single unit soundbar still sounds great. When it's movie night, we put a couple lightweight stands where we need them in the rear and drop the speakers on top. Using the app to run a 2 or 3 minute calibration cycle, we get an easy home theater experience when we want it. Surprised by how well atmos and DTX content sounds with the speakers set to the rear. We have very tall vaulted ceilings in the living room and still get precise enough effects, with verticality and all. Very pleasantly surprised by this unit's performance. Strong value proposition with arguably the most unique and pain-free surround experience you could ask for. For those not wanting or willing to mount a true 5.1, 7.1 or other surround system, this is a fantastic option. Music sounds great too! Setup was painless. Plugged the subwoofer in, plugged the bar in, ran the supplied HDMI cable between the eARC ports on the bar and the TV. Worked flawlessly from the first power cycle and never had to fuss with a single thing to enjoy seemless dolby atmos/DTX content. Fantastic!

Very happy with this. Easy to connect, always turns on and off with my TV control (which should be a given but wasn't the case for my last soundbar). Sounds great! Full bass. Love the detachable surround and easy charge.

This is a great sound bar- we love the sound levels and the depth of the bass as well. We have had several wired sound systems and this is our first true wireless. It was a Christmas present to the family and we are enjoying it

I went from a 5.1.2 Viso sound bar to this. It was one of the best decisions. I was having tons of issues with the viso sound bar with my apple tv getting stuck in update loops. This sound bar hasn't had any of those issues. The sub on this baby is HUGE. Like shakes the house huge. (I live in a manufactured home though so this may very for others). Once i got this hooked up i went to youtube to test out dolby atmos audio and felt like i was in the middle of the video. I keep the speakers detached and plugged in behind the couch to give it the surround sound. In my personal opion this is the best soundbar on the market.

I bought this as an "open box" item during the BF/CB sale period. Before this soundbar, I had a Sony HT-S40R (Dolby 5.1) system. I wanted to upgrade the sound system to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. One thing I like about this system is the detachable wireless rear surround speakers. You can either have it attached to the main soundbar or place it behind your sofa. I have played quite a few Dolby Atmos "demo" content available on Your Tube and am very happy with the sound effects. The performance is pretty good for a medium-sized (16'x12') size room. eARC/ARC connection -- works as expected. Blue Tooth connection -- the unit has to be turned ON *and* in BT mode, for already paired devices to connect with it. Otherwise, the phone/tablet says "Connection failed." This is unlike the Sony HT-S40R which wakes up from standby and connects to my Blue Tooth devices without having to touch its remote! Holding back one star because of this feature missing in JBL 1000. It does have a RJ-45 LAN port but I have not been able to figure out its purpose. I could not find any online documentation nor did I find any settings for it on the "JBL One" Android app (still exploring it).

What can I say about this speaker set that hasn’t been said. The bass friggin bumps. The clarity is pristine. My only issue was at one point one of the surround speakers started getting staticky but I moved my router (they were on the same little table) and it immediately stopped. And I got an absolute KILLER deal on an open box. (I won’t say how much to make anyone jealous, just trust)

Former system was an Infinity 7.1 system where the sound was top end. We were "over" all the wires... The JBL1000 > 7.1.4 is new...better sound. It truly fills our 16x20 room with real spatial...surround sound. And 880 watts is real...loud. The 3d sound effects are excellent. The wireless (rear) satellites are superb... Recommend purchase of power supply for satellite (rear) speakers.

Love the base. Total volume level is 32 but most of the time I am at 20 with all crystal clear sounds with super bass. Now I love to watch 4k video with theatrical sound.

Sounds great and the detachable surround speakers are a perfect solution for my cramped studio apartment. I love the subwoofer. Worth it on sale.

I literally plugged the HDMI cord into the TV and it was ready to go! The sound is great with a deep, rich bass that was much better than I was anticipating - especially coming from a Bose system. The only thing I had some trouble with was the software update. It kept failing, but eventually worked. Not a fan of the app. It doesn't support YouTube Music and just seems outdated. That being said, it's just a required feature, so I don't really care. Good system overall!

Sound is awesome, feels like you’re at the movies. The detachable speakers from the sound bar are really cool and hold battery for a long time. Overall very happy with the system
