Absolute crap quality. TV signal goes off and on for two minutes when first turning the system on. Once on audio is inconsistent. Sometimes works for hours and is great. Sometimes has no audio at all. Sometimes will have five seconds of sound every 20. Super regret this purchase.

I've had this unit for exactly 2 months and it won't come on! Of course Best Buy will only cover it for 6 weeks, which is an odd timeframe. Hopefully JBL or Best Buy will do something about this.

Awesome sound quality with booming bass! Easily fills an entire room with sound, I've even noticed sounds not normally audible on other systems because of the high quality output. The detachable speakers make for an easy to set up surround sound experience. Be sure to download the JBL one app, once paired you can adjust the equalizer to adjust bass, mid and treble. My only complaint is that the remote is not the most functional. There are certain functions, like turning the pure voice function on and off, that require specific inputs that don't make a whole lot of sense, nor are they easy to find in the manual. Overall this is a quality soundbar that you won't regret purchasing.

Big Sound In A Big Package

There were a couple things that drew me to this soundbar: the wireless sub and the detachable rear speakers. And both of those things work exactly how I was hoping they would. Opening and setting up the system is very simple. You plug in power to the sub and the bar, plug in a source (I use 2 of them), and you're off to the races. No synching to the sub, no choosing the proper input, it just goes. That part was great and worked like modern tech should. I replaced another soundbar with this one and had it done in about 10 minutes. It is a huge bar when the detachable surround speakers are attached (big even detached) and you have to take that into account. Mine is placed on a tv stand, but it comes with wall mounting brackets as well. It sits under an 80" curved television and it is every bit as long as the stand (the tv sticks out about 2" on either side of the stand). Make sure you have the proper space to put it with the surround speakers attached or you'll be missing out on one of the great advantages of the bar. I used the fiber audio input and the HDMI ARC input. With the fiber input everything came up and the volume was intense, clear, and loud. The ARC input calmed everything down based on the tv settings and fell more in line with what I was expecting, but it was great to see the capabilities of the bar beyond the tv. The interface is pretty straight forward and the remote is very basic. You can tweak the basics and adjust to fit everything I was doing with it from the remote, but some audiophiles are going to want to get in deep. There is an app that can do more than the remote. Go to town. As I said, I was up and running in about 10 minutes (includes removing the old bar) and had everything synched and sounding good. When I went to integrate it with my FireTV, it wasn't recognized so the remote programming was manual. However, it works and I am still using a single remote for 95% of the things I want to do. The sound is immersive and the surround works great when the speakers are detached. I can easily watch a 3-hour movie and they held the charge. Voices are clear (a Godsend with some of these shows and my old ears) and it's great to have the separation of sounds. You get the explosions, the detailed effects, and can still hear them speaking. That is a huge thing for me and I'm very happy with this one because of that. One nice feature I hadn't even considered is it can be used as a direct speaker for steaming music without the tv. I know most soundbars have the Bluetooth option so that's not a surprise, but it has the ability to play as a streaming device through the JBL app, Apple Air Play, or Chromecast (I used Air Play) and it links up with Alexa so you can use Multi-Room with it. All in all, it's a great soundbar with great sound quality. It's bulky, but it is 11.1.4 so not sure they could pack it much smaller and keep the quality plus the removable speakers add several inches to either end. The remote is fine, but very basic as I think they prefer you to use the app for detailed configuration. The remote also seems to have to point directly at the device and isn't very forgiving so we've had to adjust how we change the volume. We're used to radio remotes and this one is either old school IR or has poor RF integration. It integrates with all my other home tech pretty well. If you're wanting to add a good soundbar with great audio, wireless detachable surround speakers, and a good sized wireless sub then this will work great. The surround speakers recharge on the soundbar so you can't put them up permanently (at least not from what's in the box), but that works great for my set up. For reference, I have an 80" curved tv on a tv stand sitting in an elongated room that is about 15' wide and 25' deep. The seating is about 20' from the tv and the removable speakers can be placed by that seating and work just fine. The remote, a little iffy at that distance though if direct line of site it works reliably. The sound in that room is great at bouncing off walls and wrapping around you to form a nice surround affect.

The JBL - BAR 1300X 11.1.4-channel soundbar with detachable surround speakers – Black gave me problems from the beginning of trying to pair with my TV. First, I installed the JBL One app on my Samsung phone. After opening the app and being instructed to begin to pair, my Samsung phone kept giving the message; cannot find device. Many failed attempts later to pair led me to the help page. There was no positive suggestion there that would help except to try using a new phone. So I installed the JBL app on my Motorola phone and once opened pairing immediately began. I selected the JBL - BAR 1300X 11.1.4-channel soundbar with detachable surround speakers – Black from the pictures and a connection was secured. Then the whole system started a sound calibration to create a perfect balance of sound throughout my whole room. The soundbar divides into three separate speakers that with the bass of the subwoofer delivers a Dolby surround sound effect. Not only does the HDMI cable connected to my ARC input and the JBL - BAR 1300X 11.1.4-channel soundbar with detachable surround speakers – Black provide the great sound of this four speaker system, but I also was able to use Bluetooth and the optical input to connect the complete system. The JBL - BAR 1300X 11.1.4-channel soundbar with detachable surround speakers – Black can provide great surround sound in anyone’s home.

This review is for the JBL BAR 1300X 11.1.4-channel soundbar with detachable surround speakers. If you are in the market for a full in the box surround sound system look no further. I have been very impressed with this system so far. Design-wise, the JBL BAR 1300X sports a sleek and modern look that seamlessly blends into any home theater setup. The main soundbar unit is sturdy and well-built, exuding a premium feel. The detachable surround speakers are compact and lightweight, making them easy to position around the room for optimal sound distribution. Setting up the soundbar is straightforward, thanks to its user-friendly interface and included accessories. The detachable surround speakers connect wirelessly to the main unit, eliminating the need to run wires in your attic and walls. Additionally, the soundbar includes a wireless subwoofer that adds depth and impact to the low frequencies. This thing hits hard and sounds good. Brings your movies to life, and makes is feel like you are there. You can also just connect to this unit with your phone and stream any music apps that you have. And if you are a google home fan like my self it have chrome cast built in. And you can control/change most of the settings with the app on your phone. All in all I’m very happy

The JBL-BAR 1300X is a really nice sound bar with awesome sound quality, and the ability to transform into true wireless surround sound is a really neat feature as well. The soundbar comes with a nice subwoofer that is also wireless except for the power cord. The bass is clean and articulated, while also blending in nicely and seeming to come from everywhere. The front, Front Left, and Front right channels are point on, and with the surrounds detached and placed properly the 5.1 surround sound quality is amazing. It actually plays nice and loudly before experiencing distortion also. Movie dialog is easily understood, even the quiet scenes, or the scenes with lots of different things going on all at the same time. Unfortunately I wasn't as impressed with the simulated channels as they just sounded vague to me with no real perceivable placement. Maybe if I spend some more time moving the speakers to different places in my room. Also even though they play nice and loud, it would be nice for just a little more volume... when I really want to crank up the Jams I have to turn them back down because the mids get crunchy...

All in all, I am very satisfied with this JBL system; the wireless speakers and subwoofer make setup a breeze! The twelve-inch sub proves great bass. Setup: The subwoofer was the first component that I set up; the wireless feature is great as there are no speaker wires that need to be run. It is very large, so be sure to have adequate space around and for the sub. The sub speaker points down to the floor instead of out of the front. The only cord is the power cable. The main soundbar also acts as the receiver that also charges the two back speakers. When the back speakers are charged by connecting them to the ends of the main soundbar. A great feature of this system is that during charging, the back speakers are held onto the main soundbar with strong magnets; they won’t fall off under the weight of themselves. As stated above, the main soundbar also acts as the receiver for the system; there are three HDMI inputs on the back of the soundbar and an additional input in the front. There is one HDMI output to the television and, for a reason I am not clear on, there is a specialized HDMI cable that is needed for connection between the soundbar and the television that is included as listed above. The power input is also in the back of the soundbar. The app is very user friendly and made the set up of the system a breeze. You will need to enter in the password of your wi-fi into one step of the app so that the system can communicate with the app. The subwoofer and rear speakers are connected via Bluetooth to the soundbar. The app will, most likely, need to update the soundbar; it was an estimated 20 minutes with my high-speed internet, but didn’t take more than 10 minutes to complete. The app then walks you through the calibration of the speakers. There is a small screen on the main soundbar behind the speaker fabric that will turn on to relay information such as input source, wi-fi connection, and will scroll when the rear speakers are at low battery. When the screen is not in use, you won’t even know it’s there. The rear speakers also have the option of connecting to your phone or tablet and acting as a portable speaker; you can use both of them if you wish to have stereo sound. The speakers are hefty; I wouldn’t use them to carry around with me if I was moving around the house or outside, but they are nice to use if in a fixed location. The speakers last around ten hours and take around three hours to fully charge. This system also comes with caps you can place on the end of the main soundbar when the rear speakers are not charging, keeping out dust and giving the soundbar a finished look. The JBL One app allows you to customize the system to your preferences by adjusting bass, mid, and treble. I played parts of multiple movies to help adjust each in order to get a sound that I was happy with. You can adjust each tone using sliders within the app. You can also use music streaming services to stream over the system. The sound is crisp and clear with deep bass. Another great feature of this system is that you will never “lose” voices when there are loud sound effects happening in shows or movies as it tones down the “background” noise while keeping voices clear. The app is easy to use and allows you to adjust the tones however fits you and what you are watching best. A comment that I hear from the older members of my family is that their sound systems often have muffled voices and it’s sometimes hard to hear what is being said. I firmly believe that the voice clarity of this system would eliminate that problem for them as well as anyone that has this system. This is a great system and one that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a setup where running wires may be complicated, dangerous, unsightly, or anyone looking for a new or replacement system.

    Excellent Home Theater Solution, Almost

This is what I was looking for mostly in a theater setup. The ability to move the rear speakers and subwoofer anywhere I need or want without the hassle of using wires. This is the perfect solution. Upon setting the product up you have to download the JBL app. From there you turn on Bluetooth and it immediately recognizes the soundbar. Select it and it sees the Wi-fi your phone uses so add your Wi-fi password and it connects quickly. It will take about 10-20 minutes to download an update for the product. Next you will need to calibrate the speakers. The rear speakers are held on by a magnet and it is pretty strong so I feel good about them not falling off. I placed the rear speakers in two different spots (right next to me and then further out) during the setup. Calibration was quick and easy. I started to play my favorite movie and the system sounded great! You can attach the rear speakers to the bar and they still produce sounds out to the side like they were there but it is of course better when placed to the side. You can really here sounds coming from different areas of the room during action scenes. Voice dialogue also sounds great and comes through crystal clear. You can setup a rear speaker as a stand alone speaker to move to other rooms or pair them together. You can use the system by Bluetooth alone but you have more options by using the JBL app. Works great with Chromecast and Alexa through the JBL app. Both were easy to setup. I just signed into my Amazon account and accepted a few terms. There is a remote and mounting hardware included. All of the controls on the remote can be found in the JBL app. Now to my Almost comment. At this price point the subwoofer should be astounding but like with many soundbar setups I hear vibration or rattling in the coils at some frequencies. This is why I gave it 4 stars. There is an equalizer setting in the app. I have tried turning down the bass but it still does it until there is almost no bass but who wants that. Also, when I first set it up I could hear some connection issues in the rear speakers but I believe it was just interference from my phone being next to it. I haven't had any more connection problems. It is still a great purchase and I would recommend it.

I have owned JBL sound bars before, my most recent one was the BAR 900, so I knew what I should expect with this new updated model, and it didnt fail to deliver! The setup was pretty simple, and, the upgraded side/rear speakers were a welcome improvement to an already nice dolby atmos setup. There are a few other improvements, including a better remote, a more powerful amp within the unit, and the sound was somewhat clearer and more forward than the previous model. I hooked it up to a 65 inch LG OLED tv, and tried to get it working, but it was a bit problematic to get the sound working the way I wanted it to. I was hooking it up to an Fire TV cube, and, tried using the HDMI input that is on the newest firestick cube, but I couldnt get audio out of it. I then changed the hookup so that it connected to the TV's CEC input and it still didnt produce sound..what I didnt realize that since you can monitor more than once source, including Bluetooth, you have to select your desired output location, which for me was TV on the remote, and after that, everything worked fine. The sound is loud and clear, the larger, upgraded subwoofer really filled out the low end, and, the dolby atmos signal was nice and pronounced and adjustable via the remote. This system is a bit pricey, but, similar competitors are priced about the same or a little more, so you cant go wrong choosing this soundbar, just make sure you read all the setup instructions, so you dont have the same kind of confusion I had initially.

Dont get me wrong this system sounds awsome. My issue with the Bar 1000 it never finished its update. It always failed to finish. Never went past 63%. Then every 20 minutes or so it would shut my sound off and be trying to update. Never finishing updating. I was so fed up after 2 days back and fourth with jbl support it never would download the update. So im going for the bar 1300. Over all the 1000 sounded awsome, it just happens that i got a bad bar.
