I absolutely love this speaker. It’s worth every penny to me. It’s just the right size, and even though it weighs about 10 or 11 pounds, it’s sound output is amazing. It’s waterproof, so if you want to take it out with family to the beach or somewhere else outdoors, you can without it being damaged by humidity or anything. I also own JBL’s Charge 3 and their Xtreme, and although I love and use all of them depending on what I’m doing, the BoomBox is a big enough difference for me to recommend it over the other two. If you’re torn between the Xtreme or the BoomBox, I would still go with the BoomBox despite the price increase. The only thing I’ve noticed is that it does make a sort of low static sound when it’s connected to my phone but nothing is playing, although it disappears and doesn’t affect the sound at all when music is actually playing. All in all though, I would definitely purchase this again.

Love the brand JBL, they make really great durable speakers highliy recommend them to anyone wanting to purchase. They have great bass, great battery life, and all around wonderful speaker. One con only a little big for a portable speaker, but well worth it

There is so much to like about this speaker. Great battery. Booming bass. Huge volume. Waterproof. And more. But... The overall sound quality isn't great. Midrange is hollow and highs are harsh. Still giving it four stars because if you are looking for a waterproof portable speaker that's loud enough for an outdoor party, I don't know how you can do better for $400. I will probably return it because I need something that also sounds good indoors.

After coming to acceptance that the laws of physics place limitations on the power potential for portable Bluetooth speakers (I mean’something’s gotta give, right?), for what it is, it is plenty loud and also for the cost. Obviously speaker systems with a regular power source will sound better versus balancing power with limited lithium ion batteries, for a portable speaker, this is as good as it gets. I use it when doing yard work, washing my car, and have zero worries when I leave it outdoors on a rainy day. I hear the UE Hyperboom has deeper bass, but it’s not waterproof (only splash proof) and I simply don’t have it in me to invest in another large Bluetooth speaker.

The boom box has excellent sound. Great bass but not too much. The battery lasts a loooong time and the he beat part is you can take it anywhere. If you are looking for an excellent sounding portable speaker look no further.

I have bought a few lower end speakers but this one is by far the best in sound and volume!! Had to return the rest!! Also floats and is water proof!! The battery lasts for ever in my situation and for what I use it!! Would buy again!!!

I purchased this speaker for it portability and great sound. It performs perfectly with deep bass produced by the two subs (one on each end). I thought it was a tad bit expensive, but now I feel it is completely worth it!

The Jbl Boombox has powerful sound. The outdoor setting is great. I really love that it is completely waterproof and can be submerged in water, unlike the JBL Extreme. The JBL Boombox has better sound as well. I do miss the carry strap though. Great Quality and Sound

Searching for boom box for outside use, especially at the beach. We purchased this one because of JBL's Boom box sound quality (which was the best sounding one in the store, thanks Best Buy Rep for letting us crank them up). Another selling point, was the water tight design. After our second beach trip, we decided to buy a second one for the FULL stereo sound. Devices are easy to pair and sound a lot better. Nice job JBL.

Great blue tooth radio(boom box), sound is great with some nice Bass for it’s size, about 17” wide by 8” diameter. Had a pool party and it played all day and charged my phone in process and it was still going, definitely will be heard by the neighbors. Hooked up to my phone and another with ease and range for Bluetooth is pretty good. I got it at $349 and think it’s a great deal at that price. Wish woofers on the ends had a metal screen, I worry about something poking speaker while packed for beach or where ever. Definitely best sounding boom box I’ve heard so far.

I was looking for an outdoor Bluetooth speaker for pool side parties that was waterproof, loud enough without distorting and had all-day battery life. I read the reviews on this JBL boombox and decided to give it a shot. I was not disappointed. It checked every single one of my boxes but I was most impressed with the sound quality. The mids and highs are clear as can be and it has plenty of bass for the lows with no distortion. Is it pricey? Absolutely. Some things are worth spending a few extra bucks on though. I got so many compliments on it at my last pool party.

Alone this speaker puts out very good bass and overall sound quality. Family and friends who've heard it are very impressed with how loud it could get. Paired it with 4 additional JBL Charge 3 speakers with Connect+ and the sound fills a large outdoor patio and back yard very nicely.

This JBL Boombox is the absolute best speaker for outdoor usage. I get a constant 12-14 hours on maximum volume in the outdoor mode. I can also charge two iPhone 8 Plus’s on it while playing music, and still get a strong 10-12 hours using it. When you lower the volume slightly, the battery life improves as well. It sounds great and has heavy bass. I bought this to replace my Brookstone Big Blue.

The JBL Boombox is the best on the market in it's price range for overall sound quality. The deep bass response from this speaker is what sets it apart from the others. I also own the Aiwa Exos-9 a competitor often compared to the JBL Boombox. I do recommended that Bluetooth speaker as well..but I like the JBL better. YouTube shows the comparison. This is a heavy hitting sound machine. And this brute is waterproof, attractive, and easy to carry around. A+++

It's a great speaker but I find it too expensive. I do love the bass and the quality. But I think jbl could do better

Powerful and durable speaker with sound that doesn’t disappoint. Now it’s not the BEST sounding speaker per se but a it’s a good sounding speaker and what it lacks in sound quality it makes up for in power and durability. This speaker is a tank which means it’s a bit on the heavy side so if you’re looking for something dainty look elsewhere. All in all It’s a great buy if you’re looking for a heavy duty, powerful, speaker that will withstand the elements. And it sounds pretty good too!

I got this speaker for my boyfriend, he wanted to get it for when we go to the beach. We’re constantly using this one versus our big one that we have. It just makes it so much easier to carry and move around, plus it’s bluetooth. It was always frustrating with our other speaker that we would have to be switching phones because somebody’s phone was dying. Now we can play music and charge it at the same time. For being a small speaker, it sounds just as loud as our big one.

The Boombox catches the attention of others everywhere it goes. It is a show stopper from its looks to sound. I play music at a lot of baseball games and everyone is amazed at the sound quality...clear and concise. The bass is perfect and deep. It’s the best sound decision I have made. If I had to mention a downfall, it is that the Boombox is heavy! And solid. I like that in this piece of equipment but it does take a toll when walking a long distance.
