    I bought this after reading tons of reviews, and comparing different BT speakers. I got home charged it, then started playing music from it. The vocals and all sounded muffled. I messed around with the setting and still wasn't satisfied. Returned and got a different brand recommended by a sales associate. It was like night and day compared between the 2, and I even bought the lower model (the jbl flip version)of the other brand compared to the charge. Couldn't be happier with exchanging this for a different brand.

    Not as good as the JBL 2 sorry they missed this

    Well I could not wait to write my review because it is a disappointment just got one for Christmas. My son asked me what I wanted and a couple of years ago I surprised him with the JBL 2 and it sound so great I went and looked at reveiws and even listened to one at Best Buy and I thought this was better JBL 4 than the 2, I don't know if the sound was muff folded at Best Buy of just the songs they had for you to listen to and just noisy at the store but this is louder than the jbl 2 and it lost its bass it is a clearer sound but I am considering returning but I hate to because my son gave it to me

      Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Both speakers produce clear and crisp audio. However, the CHARGE 3 provides you a louder, more balanced sounding speaker, and focused on giving more bass than the CHARGE 2. Try to put the EQ setting to FLAT or NO EQ to see if it makes any difference. If it doesn't, please try a reset on the speaker. With the power on, press and hold the "Volume+" and the "Play/Pause" buttons at the same time. When the speaker switches off after a few seconds, sounding the OFF prompt, it has been reset.

    JBL Charge3 have had 7 mths...skipping argh!

    I have several JBL bluetooth speakers (Jambox, JBL Clip,JBL Charge3) This Charge 3 has started to skip or go in/out while connected to any bluetooth item. (phone, google home) I've had it for 7 months! That's very disappointing. Can't return it to Best buy. Will contact JBL to see if they have a manufacturer warranty since all 3 speakers from them are doing the same thing. UGH!

    Great sound, poor usablilty with source device

    I purchased the Charge 3 based upon reviews but was extremely disappointed with pairing problems encountered (ipads & iphones). It was a pain to change between paired device sources with the only way being to reset the speaker each time and repeat the pairing process. Also, the manual is a joke and their on-line support is not much better.

    I used this three times. Never had it above 75% volume. Started hearing the plastic casing vibrating when playing music. The vibrating sound was getting really annoying quickly. I ended up exchanging it for the megaboom. So far I have enjoyed the megaboom much more than the charge three.

    JBL loses connection

    This speaker has good sound, however, it goes in/out while connected to any bluetooth item (phone, PC). I've had it for several months and it's still happening. This is very disappointing. I wish I could return it.

    I feel a bit disillusioned, its sound is good, at 25% its volume, then it distorts. The battery does not last what it says 20 hours or in dreams, I use it 25 to 40 minutes a day on average and only lasts a week from Monday to Friday

    This was an ok Bluetooth speaker. but has some audio distortion at max volume. I don't know if minds was defective. But i returned it. Also I couldn't get the alarm to work on it.

    I know a big part of this is me but I can not figure out how to use the speaker. The instructions are so small that I can not even read them with a magnifying glass. I would like some help in figuring that out.

      Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.The CHARGE 3 permits pairing of multiple devices but only allows one active connection at a time. To place the CHARGE 3 in pairing-mode, simply press and hold the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds. The light should start flashing blue, indicating that the CHARGE 3 is ready to be paired. Scan for BT devices on your source device and you will find the CHARGE 3 then connect. Play music and enjoy.

    These were amazing when I first purchase them then suddenly a weird static sound started to develop after a few weeks of use. I returned them with no issue.

    I purchased two JBL Charges so I could connect them together. The speakers sound good on their own but would not stay connected. I took them back and got Sony's and am glad I did.

    Compact size and waterproofing make this a very appealing speaker, but the performance is reduced because of those same things, item was returned for a bigger one.

    The speaker worked wonderful for about 3-4 weeks now it makes a loud buzzing noise randomly when trying to play music. Just didn't hold up considering the price.

    Sounds great in an office or a bedroom at med volume but try it outside or in a noisy environment and raise the volume and you will wonder where the bass went. Returned

    the speakers are great alone but do not pair well. the range is weak, the break up, you also can't control their volume individually. i returned them and bought UE's.
