The JBL Charge 6 impressed me from the first moment: powerful bass, clear vocals, and a volume that fills any space without distortion. The battery is amazing, lasting for hours and hours, perfect for parties, days at the beach, or just relaxing at home. The red color is vibrant and modern, giving it a unique and eye-catching touch. Plus, its water resistance gives me the peace of mind to use it without worrying about splashes. Without a doubt, the ideal companion for enjoying my favorite music anywhere. 100% recommended

I'd purchased a much more expensive portable speaker system only to have the company screw up its software. The company selling the expensive system with the screwed up software doesn't seem to understand the concept of portability. I took the speakers on vacation and attempted to hookup to the vacation home wifi only to come home and have to reconfigure my entire system including sound bar and sub. Moving furniture to get to equipment and then having to push and hold buttons to reset equipment is not my idea of a fun afternoon. So much for that! The expensive speakers do not have a bluetooth stereo pair option. I was looking for something to take on vacation and use regardless of the availability of wifi. I had purchased two JBL Flip 6 speakers and liked them and the ability to put them in Stereo mode, but I was looking for something a bit more powerful. The Charge 6 speakers are a nice power boost from the Flip series. For me the downside to the Flip 6 was in order to play in Stereo I had to always use the JBL app to always 1st setup stereo mode and then use my phone as the streaming source. The new streaming software that JBL uses (Auracast) allows for setting two Charge 6 speakers in permanent stereo mode. I can then stream to them using the latest Echo Dot device, without having to use the JBL software to establish the stereo functionality and it frees up my phone for other uses.

I am a long time fan of JBl products and have owned a good majority of models ranging from the go ann the way to the boombox and their party line of speakers. I bought two charge 5 speakerson a steep discount when they released this model and wanted to see if the upgrade would fit the bill. Positives first, this soeaker is definitely louder than the charge 5. Low end sounds a bit fuller in the 60-80 hz range and the battery upgrade is a plus. I also enjoy the new handle as carrying a charge around like a football can get old fast. The addition of lossless audio via usb c is a nice touch but it’s difficult to appreaciate it in a small form speaker. Now on to the downsides. First off the price increase is hardly warranted over rhe chrage 5’s initial msrp. Yes you get 5 more watts and a loudness upgrade and a strap, but in my opinion its not enough for 25% more money than the charge 5. While the upgrades are nice, the loudness boost is soley in the mids and highs. This speaker can get downright piercing at high volumes and you lose most of your low end after you turn up the volume 60%. It sounds like a dream until you go to crank it up and then the buyers remorse hits home (especially if you own the last generation. The loudness is likely welcomed for outdoor use, but for an indoor audio guy like myself, this speaker really misses the mark out of the box. Thankfully JbL includes a great 7 band eq that will allow you to fix some of the issues but the low end performance is still an issue. Increasing the bass only gets you to the ceiling faster and it disappears at 60% no matter how much you fine tune your controls. This is likely due to heavy compression and it is very evident when listening to anything beat heavy. You get this constant pumping effect that only disappears when you drop the volume. I wanted to love this speaker and was excited about moving into the new line but I will stick with my charge 5’s for now. If you want a great alternative at the same price (it can be gound on sale more often than the jbl too) then check out the sony ULT Field 3. Better defined low end that doesnt dissapear once you start driving the speaker at high volumes. Sorry JBL but sadly this speaker went back mainly because I couldnt justify the high price over my capable charge 5’s nor the audible upgrade with the sony ULT Field 3 for the same price. Also a side note, the extreme 4 is miles ahead and can often be found for 50$ more and it is a MASSIVE upgrade over the charge 6.

Absolutely amazing product, me and my family take this everywhere we go especially on picnics and beach days! The speaker has great battery life and exceptionally amazing sound quality, the base is great and is surprisingly a really great size. The strap that comes with the speaker has been a great help in carrying it and taking it long on trips. The speaker offers great sound quality, great base, amazing battery life, and great range. And oh my god the included ability to charge your phone with the speaker turned it into a power bank and it was a great help in all kinds of situations!
