For me the size of this speaker is just right, neither too big nor small. Too small means too much compromise on sound quality and loudness, too big and it starts being less portable. About the sound quality, well it’s not neutral or flat. It’s clearly optimized for exteriors and to play rock, pop or electronic music and it does so very well. Construction. It feels and looks very durable, only time will tell though. Nice extras. The speaker can easily connect to other jbl speakers that use the same protocol. Emphasis on easily. Other speakers considered: Sonos roam and jbl flip 5. Both smaller and more portable. Flip 5 , didn’t like the sound quality, too tinny. Sonos roam didn’t get the chance to listen to it but many reviewers mentioned it’s small sound plus it costs about the same as the larger charge 5

Great sounding speaker and the battery last a long time. Sound fills up the downstairs area very well. Battery was already charged when I opened the box. It didn't come with a USB charging cable so that is my only complaint. Battery lasted for a whole day, including the evening. Bluetooth connection has a great range and connected quickly and easily.

JBL charge 5 is dope little compact speaker with excellent sound and a excellent way to charge up other devices if you don't have a battery pack the sound is ultimate and premium and satisfying I do recommend buying this device is also light not so heavy and if you get a chance to get a cover to help protect it do it and also very command buying a second one so you can hear the dual connection that they can do together big upps to JBL I recommend. I forgot this little booger can stay charged up to 20 hours.

This speaker is really great! It has amazing bass, it’s loud, it’s super portable, and has a phenomenal battery life. I have no complaints about it so far, I enjoy every time I turn it on. I tend to take it to work and one full charge will last me the whole work week, which is around 30 hours, can’t complain there. Even my coworkers enjoy it, and one bought the same one!

Small and easy to carry on. Great sound. The bass is great. The mids and highs are clear and crisp. The battery life is amazing and I love that you can charge your device with the speaker. Portability is the forte of this speaker, take it out to the patio or the beach and crank the tunes.

Previously owned a Flip 3, and an earlier model of the Charge. This is a great improvement to what I thought was already an awesome product, GREAT sound quality, fills an entire room, amazing bass. Charging capabilities are great when outdoors. Great battery. I also like the power level indicator on the front . Easily connects to devices, i wish I could toggle the start up sound on and off though, only downside to me.

A little pricey, but it’s definitely worth it. I deliver packages all day and it still can play music loud enough to fill my truck. The water proof is nice too, I use it while I shower too. Bass is very impressive for its size. It’s also nice that it doubles as a battery bank.
