I picked one of these up to replace my non-functional Pulse 2, hoping for improved battery life, sound quality, and for the extra feature of being a built-in power bank. So far, I’m very satisfied with the sound of this speaker. Rich bass, clarity, and the sound travels to fill a whole room with amazing acoustics as you increase the volume. Placed in a warehousing or factory environment, however, the sound will be drowned out considerably as you move 10-15 feet away from it. As for JBL boasting the 20-hour life, I haven’t experienced this even at 50% volume, and have yet to see this speaker outlast a 10-hour shift. lol! Maybe if you have it at a whisper, then maybe it would last that long. The plus side is at least you can charge something else up while listening to music. I recommend this speaker for all of its perks, but it’s best used in a small-space setting with very little to no other background noise to truly appreciate the power of this speaker. Two of these paired up would be overkill.

This speaker is really nice. Great sound, easy to use and long battery life. The fact that its small, waterproof and has all the options with easy use makes it a great buy. JBL is a very solid brand.

So i just got one of these today and Wow!! This is a pretty Nice speaker for sure!! It sounds Bomb!! I looked at the Flip 6, it was alright..i wanted More Sound and Bass!! I looked at all the speakers Best Buy had, Bose was Nice but not enough Bass!! ION Uber Boom, not that great, The Sonys were alright, but nothing compared to this Charge 5 !! Im Glad I spent the extra money and got this, as it Sounds Awesome!!

Great quality, nice size, loud enough for me and for my outdoor nature trips; fishing, camping, swimming, boating, tanning… but for it being a JBL I had higher hopes of sound being a bit more intense with the base and music quality. Only reason why I rated a 4. Easy to charge with USB-C in car or at home. Lasts 20 hours played continuously. You will also need the app to update the device once you purchase or it won’t be worth the buy. Be sure you upgrade by downloading the app.

I am very happy with this speaker. It gives out plenty of sound and is loud enough for the outdoors. It fell off my car the second day I had it and did sustain some damage but only cosmetic. Still sounds great.

Needed an updated Bluetooth speaker. Chose this one because of it's size, waterproof, and the ability to charge other devices. I was impressed with the sound. Used it paired with a phone for music and a laptop to watch streaming while traveling. Both sound good.

Great performance and terrific sound at a good price! So good, bought one with a gift card, then bought a 2nd at a sale price! Party mode is great but in stereo, absolutely amazing! Using them when teaching my class has made them popular due to portability, sound, and price!

It's great, it sounds wonderful, very loud and lasts a long time playing.

Big sound for a small device. I have the JBL extreme 3, the Charge5 and the clip. You might ask why so many? Trust me that they all serve their purpose. There will be time when u want the big boom and times when you just want a lighter sound but with some umph. JBL speakers are a proven sound machine.

So I was torn between the Flip 6, Charge 5 and the Extreme 4. After testing all of them out at the store, I wanted a bit more punch than the Flip 6, but I didn't need all of the high power of the Extreme 4, and it was a bit more than I was willing to spend. The Charge 5 fits right in the middle and is perfect for my home gym and cookouts. I can tell it has very high build quality and looks great. The sound is incredible and it can crank pretty loud for a unit of this size. They all sounded great, and you really can't go wrong with any of them, but I personally think this is the best value out of the lineup. This can definitely suffice for most people's needs.
