I’ve owned some other stuff from this brand and thought why not. Easy to install but the sound is lacking. Where as I could put my Vizio on 20 and hear it outside my house I have to put this one on max and it’s still pretty low. I like to be immersed in my sound experience and this just doesn’t cut it. If it’s loud in action scenes it’s the explosion sound and not anything of importance. The only plus is I got this on sale for about 70% off so I’ll deal with it until I can’t anymore.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is a review for JBL SB170. First of all, the product arrived with the shipping box damaged. The box had a gaping 6" hole. Upon calling Best Buy, I was given a choice of returning the product right away or to open the box and if the product didn't function properly, then to return it within 15 days. So, I opened the box and hooked up the 2.1 system. The subwoofer had no sound output, even when it paired properly to the soundbar. Spent an hour with JBL tech experts on the phone and still no sound from the subwoofer. Returned the product the next day. A lot of hassle for a brand new yet malfunctioning product.
