Love the portability with onboard mp3s

I got these earbuds 8 days ago, and for the most part I am happy. I *love* having onboard mp3s and going phone-free while still having music for my workouts and breaks. I also like the sound and the fit.
The price is good: the JBL Endurance DIVE is $30 less than the only other comparable earbuds set (Sony Walkman) that I found with onboard storage. The controls have taken a little getting used to but have been functional for the most part.
I only have two qualms, really. First, maybe 5% of the time I will still have challenges controlling my music, and it takes me an extra 10-30 seconds to play my song or what have you. I am hoping I will get better at the controls over time and with practice.
Second and unexpectedly, each time I wear them out in cold weather the earbuds hardware (maybe the speaker cone?) somehow makes one audible click and the sound goes softer temporarily. The effect seems to undo itself every time the earbuds warm back up, but then the cycle repeats if they get cold again. Not a big deal - I can still hear music at some volume regardless, no matter the temperature - just a little annoying to being listening to music happily outside in cold weather, then you hear a random click and the volume drops. I recommend that JBL do some cold air testing and maybe a little re-engineering for the next iteration. Besides getting used to the controls and the cold weather thing, though, I can't think of any other qualms.
Everything accounted for, the onboard mp3s are the *real beauty* of this unit. Based on my 8 days of use, I recommend these earbuds for anyone looking for good sounding music with the freedom of onboard mp3 storage - so long as you are patient enough to learn the controls and especially if you do not plan to wear them in cold air. Again, I personally really enjoy the freedom of having onboard mp3s - that is the main differentiating factor and really the only reason to get a JBL Endurance DIVE versus some other model.
Pros:
*Convenience and portability. Having music without a separate device is awesome. I love the JBL Endurance DIVE for working out. Note I have not tried swimming with these - just running outdoors, working out at the gym, or basic indoor use.
*Sound. I think these sound pretty good. They have also worked fine for phone calls.
*Fit. The earbuds come with 3 different sizes of inner ear earpiece.
*Charging. These charge with a standard micro USB; no fancy proprietary chargers here. Thank you, JBL.
*Bluetooth mode works fine with my iPhone. No problems.
Cons:
*Cold weather use. When I wear these outside and the temperature is, say, below 50 degrees, there comes a point when I will hear/feel something click within the unit, and the volume will drop temporarily, until I bring it back into a warmer environment.
*On/off controls. In my experience, the unit turns itself on when you hook it onto your ear, then turns itself off when you unhook it. There are times when I'm talking with a friend and I unhook one ear and then find that the unit has turned off.
*1 GB storage is a little small. I would prefer 2 GB, 4 GB, or more.

These in-ear headphones are just what I was looking for... a waterproof, comfortable, bluetooth enabled connection to my favorite worship music or teaching whether I'm whitewater kayaking, biking, hiking or anything else for that matter. Awesome runtime and quick recharge are a winning combo. Storable mp3 capacity was a surprise bonus so I'm still being blessed even without my phone. If these ever die I'm buying more!!!

These are very good ear phones, sound good, fit good do not slip out of your ears' during activities and moisture, about 7 hours of battery life, alerts you of phone calls and texts. I haven't tried swimming yet but they can handle my sweat pretty good LOL. So far very dependable. I'm still learning how to use / since I am old school. very satisfied. Works well with iPhone.

Pros: Fits in ear, blocks out background noise. Has memory to store music. Can use in water (haven’t tried yet/ don’t quote me on that just yet) Loud. Has Case, and connects to blue tooth. Cons: OMG, the hand feature to cut up and down, on /off, and connecting to Bluetooth all suck. It’s no buttons just touch sensitive . So it’s propraby better for those who love these type of new age gadgets, but a pain in the butt for an olds schooler like me who just wants to be able to get’er done at ease. I had to take it off my head and ears and look to control the functions. Otherwise reaching up while on my head and trying to operate, I was off in where my finger needed to press and usually didn’t get the results I wanted. It either shut off or on or disconnected from Bluetooth . If you are use to finger sensitive items all for you. If not you may want something where you have physical buttons like on/off/volume etc.

A White elephant - brilliant design falls short

This is one of the most difficult reviews to write as I really wanted this product to work for my lap swimming. The product has some great features but ultimately comes up well short in its dual mode intentions. Slightly better product engineering and a product revision may still make this what it should be - but not as it stands. All the prior reviews and comments you made read regarding this device I found to be true. I will summarize by findings:
Pros
Great industrial design. Headphones fit securely snugly and relatively unobtrusively . Easy to swim with and earphones do not come out if you twist lock position as suggested.
Pairs easily and quickly in Bluetooth mode
Audio quality is very good out of the water -not brilliant but certainly not bad.
MP3 mode works well tracks sequence through sequentially according to alphabetical order (and not randomly according to instructions) Lock mode for swimming also works well.
Battery life in water was as suggested 30 minutes plus.
Audio quality swimming above water (head up) in MP3 mode was not bad but somewhat attenuated as suggested (but see later comments)
Cons
Audio quality in the water swimming laps is another matter. The low frequency music is really cut off so you hear mainly treble and rhythm. Some people have suggested turning the volume way up and locking but after my disappointing other experiences I did not give these a try.I also suspect if one applied a silicone gel seal around the ear with the phone in the response may also improve but again did not try this.
The controls take a lot of finesse to use but do work as intended ; they are just very poorly described.
The manual is awful and if it wasn't for other users post comments and videos on how to use it would be a disaster. It would be quite easy to write a proper manual on their web page but for some reason they can't be bothered to do this .
(The MP3 lock function works great when you know how.
The volume adjust (out of water) works great once you now how ( you slide your finger length not tip touch contact)
Changing mode is easy .Changing tracks is easy once you calibrate your touch sensitivity)
The interface to download music is appalling . I tried two separate units , neither worked with windows 10.
The first froze my computer. After unfreezing it, found mandarin music was playing on the device . How it arrived there I have no idea. Perhaps it was a factory reconditioned (but not stated ) or quality test left on but should not have been there.
The battery on the first unit I tried (above) was completely drained before first use so I suspect something is very wrong with the unit.
The second (replacement) unit I tried also would also not interface with windows 10 to download music. System again froze ; after rebooting my computer, found Skype was activated but not by me.
I suspect malware . Giving up on windows I tried downloading mp3 music from my android-chromebook. No problem ! Trifle slow but no lock up. However looking at the device via file manager I found the file dates were set to 2027.Very odd.
Something is very wrong with their software/firmware QA based on two devices I tried from Best buy.
The web based Customer service promised to contact me within 24 hours and issued a case number. They did not.
User manual is obtuse and not helpful
Summary
Something is very wrong with their QA. Also they seem to have given up on the product. A better user manual online and firmware that does what is supposed to would makes a world of difference. Also silicon gel may enhance the submerged / lap swimming experience.
A real shame .
Best buy replaced the first unit immediately and credited me when I gave up on the second. Full marks here .

I got these for lap swimming and first impressions were great. The are light and comfortable and sound pretty good when the are seated in your ears well. But... when they pop out or if you need to take them out to adjust them and water gets in the buds then then the sound is muffled and it takes time to dry them off and get them seated in your ears again. Also the controls are too complicated. You have to remember the correct sequence and the number of taps it takes to changed the modes. Finally you cant set a playlist. It only has random play. Although it seems more sequential than random. Still annoying. But for something light and comforable with some practice it works.

Easy to use, pretty sturdy as well and they really stay inside your ears while you’re working out. I’ve had headphones that would keep falling out of my ears and that was the most annoying thing ever.
With that said I wish they were a bit louder.

The battery on these headphones are really great. I wear them strictly for the gym and usually only need to charge them once a week. The fit is good except when running they tend to pop out easily and need readjustment. Sound quality is nice I only wish they were a bit louder.

Headphones are easy to operate once you have the controls figured out and they do not fall from your ear, even during the most intense workouts.
Only issues are that they sometimes switch off Bluetooth mode during my workout and touch controls are very sensitive. Wiping sweat or minor adjustment can pause your playlist and excessive perspiration can cause Bluetooth to randomly turn off.

overall these headphones are really nice. They sound amazing, people can hear you clearly when you talk on the phone and the buttons are very responsive. HOWEVER, they are not ideal for using in an office setting or to just rest on your shoulders if you are not using them, which is what i purchased them for. I talk on the phone all day long so trying to find a good set of headphones that have a good microphone and are very portable with a good battery life is a lot harder than you think. If youre using these headphones to go running with they are PERFECT. I did keep them for when I am at the gym.

I got these to replace my old Sony waterproof headphones that broke. So far, I generally like it. Comfortable and functional. My only two complains (one of which I knew before purchasing) are : 1) all functions are on one part of the right earpiece and based on taps instead of physical buttons which sometimes can be annoying if i'm clicking quickly. (i.e., 1 tap does one function, 2 or 3 does something else), and 2) volume control can be a pain and I still haven't "mastered it" for some reason. Overall, happy with the purchase.

Pros: Sound is decent and they fit into my ears pretty well.
Cons: A lot. Very sensitive. My hair got longer with the COVID pandemic and my hair would hit the controls and stop the music, fast forward the music etc. Sometimes I would accidentally touch it and the music would stop. Then trying to get the music to start playing again seemed more difficult than getting it to stop by accident. Way too sensitive touch controls. I cannot tell you how often it not only drops its bluetooth connection but also required me to remove the device from my iPhone and re-pair it. The controls were not good when it was working properly either.
I would not buy these if they were $10, that is how annoying these issues are.
I owned another set of bluetooth headphones from JBL and they were great. I forget that model but they went through a lot of sweat, rain, and snow but did the trick...this model is awful though.
