Love this amp… the app was a little tricky to get used to but once I got it it has worked fine. Only think it’s missing is usb interface to record directly out of it and use iPad apps like loopers and whatnot… but other than that this thing is exactly what I was looking for.

Let me start out by saying this product is a huge disappointment. I don't believe this product is anywhere close to what the asking price is. Terrible sound quality. Lacks bass and clarity. You're better off going with a JBL authentics 300 or a party box 320 for much better sound quality. The JBL authentics 300 has a much better sound quality and is cheaper and the JBL Party box 320 is the same price and is way better sound.

I teach fitness classes, and I am always on the hunt for a good speaker. Unfortunately, there is always a compromise. If you want portability, the sound will suffer. If you want some serious bass, you will need to plug it in. This PA (hybrid) has fulfilled just about all my needs. Great battery life and lots of features. Just about every input you can think of is ready to go, including phantom power! The build and design is well done. I enjoy the LED glowing indicator bars for volume, battery level, etc. Much easier to read that the traditional dials/ dots, even in daylight. It's relatively light, and most importantly, maneuverable. Many PA systems in this range are awkward to shift around. This is literally pick up and go. Which is why I say hybrid. This not only serves as a great PA system, but it is a killer portable Bluetooth speaker. Easily pumping out sound equivalent to speakers twice it's size. My only wish, would have been to add some sort of IP rating so I can really be carefree. But, at the end of the day, it's a PA, not a UE Boom, so that's not a big qualm. For details, it technically has 4 channels. If you are experiencing a lack of volume, make sure all knobs are where they need to be. For instance, I put a mic in channel 1, while playing music through Bluetooth on my phone (Channel 4). Both channel volume knobs were all the way up, but the mic was noticeable lower. The answer, the mixing knob was turned down. A novice error, but nonetheless, it could drive someone nutty trying to figure it out. Lastly, the sound. I glossed over it a few times in this review, but let me give note, this speaker hits hard. Clean, crisp audio with onboard treble and bass controls. I included a picture of a lot where me and my buddies go and train. I only had the volume up 3/4 of the way, and it filled the lot. So much so, that I kept turning it down out of fear of disturbing others. This is a huge step up from what we've been using. For you MCs, it has a ducking button that automatically lowers music for microphone announcements. One less component to worry about. I've been using this speaker for about 7 hours so far and haven't needed to charge. Amazing. Overall, this is a great PA, speaker, etc. and I am impressed all around. Definitely my new "go-to" when I need some sound on the go.

So I'm writing this as a musician and a music lover. For the latter, this is the greatest portable bluetooth speaker I've ever used. True, it isn't stereo (though you could get a pair and they can be set up to work that way), but this is light, easy to carry around, and the battery lasts a LONG time once charged (which only takes about 2 to 3 hours). I love taking this out onto the deck to stream some tunes from my phone on a warm summer evening. It sounds great (better bass response than my other portables) and ease of setup can't be beat. I'll take a moment to point out the one flaw in this speaker, which is the accompanying app. Not super user friendly, and it took a few tries before the firmware would update. But that is pretty much par for the course with some other portable speakers (I'm looking at you, Marshall). But after the firmware update, I really haven't needed the app at all- so it isn't that big of an issue, at least for me. As an actual PA... this is a small speaker. So that has some inherent limitations, of course. But as someone who is used to hauling around a Bose L1 model II with a big bass module- suffice it to say that the EON One is smaller than that bass module alone. It weighs a fraction in comparison, and is battery powered. It fits in the trunk of my convertible. I'm willing to trade a little volume and bass response in 90% of my gigs to save my back and and extra trip to and from the car. That's the number one selling point of this piece, in my book. To get the best functionality when using multiple inputs (say a guitar and/or keyboard along with a vocal mic), utilizing the app is really the easiest. Like I said, the app is clunky, but it works fine for what it is. Everything can also be adjusted per channel with the hardware buttons, as well, however. The sound is actually amazingly good considering the size limitations. I'm tempted to buy a second one for when I need to move more air, rather than going back to the Bose system, with the extra weight and setup time. (I should also mention that Bose system retails for well north of $2000). I am really pleased with this little unit. Using a portable battery for my pedalboard or keys, I can avoid any need for power when at an outdoor setting. This thing is game changing for me in a lot of ways.

Great Bass and Tone - Lower than Expected Volume

There are a lot of features to this JBL PA system. It is my first and generally speaking, I am happy with it. The bass is great, very strong and clean. Tones are very clear. My only surprise is that the maximum volume is lower than I expected. I have tried the various connections and all the results are very similar. I am not at all disappointed with the sound quality, just thought I would be able to use this in front of a relatively large crowd in a larger conference room or banquet room. This won’t be enough for some of the larger rooms but will work in a setting where you would have about 30 people and a minimal amount of background noise. The music lowering when you are using the microphone, is an excellent feature. Referred to as “ducking” and new to me but works out really well when I’m using it in various situations. There are ample connections including USB ports, a dedicated guitar jack, aux input and Bluetooth. The box is well built and isn’t overly heavy weighing in at about 17 pounds. The handle is well placed as well and makes it easy to carry anywhere. The removable battery is a good feature and on my initial couple uses, has lasted several hours each time. They advertise 12 hours and I’d imagine that is very close. I would highly recommend this for smaller audiences or rooms where you won’t have to compete with loud outside noises. The sound is crisp and I enjoy using it in all areas where I want to listen to music as well.

Has good volume and clear sound. Reverb adds a nice touch. I used a condenser vocal mic and direct wireless bug for my guitar. Everything works great. Paired up my phone for background music until performance time. Every thing worked as its suppose to. I knew it would because I also own JBL speaker studio monitors for mixing and they have been great also. I did not feel the need to use the app. The versatility is awesome being that I can use this as a performance monitor, loud speaker or a music player. The Headphone option is nice if you want to do a mix check or just listen to music. Also can connect monitor out of a mix board to the pass through connection for a direct monitor. Feels very durable. I have used several times now and have yet to charge the battery. Has 2 USB connections. Single channel mode or mix channel mode selections, Mic/Line 1/4" or XLR. Includes Tablet Slot. I'm considering a 2nd one of these as it also has speaker stand hole built in.

The loudness as described by JBL was extremely overstated. This device as a bluetooth battery device was not nearly loud enough. Even when connected together with a second EON one Compact. The app also doe snot work when connecting another JBL Eon speaker. Just a real mess. Nice features though.

Here comes the next generation of PAs!

As a part-time musician, I have used several PAs. Usually the controls come from a mixer or the PA itself has basic dials and a couple of inputs. This PA outdos others I have ever experienced. 1) It is compact enough. I have a compact one too and this one is comparable in the ease of carrying. The added medal in this deice though is the REMOVABLE BATTERY. I guess you can buy extra to keep you going for those full day events or camping trips. 2) It is flexible meaning you have ample inputs PLUS and you can daisy chain it too. I used it for a guitar and mic set-up, outdoor projector sound, karaoke, and simple Bluetooth music. This PA is very dynamic and can be used for multiple functions. 3) The digital mixer in the form of the app is very helpful. Again, I think this is one of the winning pieces of this PA. Other PAs are plug and play but this one, part of how you can use it for multiple functions, paired with the app, makes it so much adaptable to your specific use. 4) Lastly, the sound: Unlike me, don’t be discouraged by the sound quality of the PA at first use. The initial sound straight from the box has a lot to be desired. Compared to more simple PAs, this one needs dial-tweaking, but I guess that’s where the flexibility comes in. You have to tweak it to get the optimal sound. With it tweaked, I can say the crispness of the sound and the wholeness of the volume is up there—not very impressive but still up there. So for something that has a lot in its belt, I’d say the value of this JBL is great! I did have a little difficulty updating the firmware through the app—maybe it was just my Pixel phone, but it okay after. Besides that hiccup, nothing major (or can be even considered minor) to mention. Overall, if you want real versatility in a PA, this one is it.

Speaker & mixing board all in one

There isn’t much you can’t do with this speaker. We have a band & my husband was excited to try this for his guitars & bass. First I’ll start by saying it’s portable, lightweight, the battery lasts a long time & it sounds great. Whether you just play music on an iPod through it or use it for DJ or playing out, it doesn’t disappoint. To get the best features you must download the app, there you can control each instrument individually & from the app you can control equalizer, adjust effects, tone, parameters, volume, also use reverb, chorus & delay. The app for iPad loaded faster than iPhone. Controls on the speaker are bass, treble, gain & reverb. but there aren’t as many and you can’t control individually. Ducking, Phantom power for condenser mics & lexicon effects are also features. The lexicon effects are good & not overpowering. You need the app for effects. My husband plugged in his guitar, bass, microphone & also used iRig so he could use the garage band app, worked & sounded great. Features Bluetooth & 4 channels to plug into, 2 mics & guitar can plug in, there is a headphone jack & you can link 2 speakers together. He eventually wants to try this with an acoustic/electric guitar. There is a slot on the top to hold phone, iPad or iPod but that was his only gripe, the slot is small so it doesn’t hold an iPad with a case. Other than that small issue he absolutely loves it, it’s like a compact mixing board & speaker all in one & is great whether you play out or are a garage band or just want to listen to music. Highly recommend!

Bluetooth Not Functional Due to Abandoned App

In order for the bluetooth audio to work, you need to slide the volume up on channel 4 within the app. The app has not been updated in three years, so if you need to use bluetooth audio, you might as well look for something else.
