The JBL EON ONE compact portable PA system is an excellent system that can be used for many different things. I found it worked great as a PA system in a medium sized auditorium that normally holds up to 100+ people when compared to our existing system. Due to COVID 19 - I couldn't try it with that many people in attendance. What I can tell you is that the sound is amazing when put in a corner and it projected my speaking voice across the auditorium very well. When I put music on and played it very loud - it extended past the auditorium walls and could be heard throughout the entire building (which my coworkers did not appreciate). I have used this as a personal speaker for many hours without having to recharge it. It says it has a 12 hour battery life and I believe it to be near that range. It is very light weight and had a handle on top that makes it easy to carry. It did take me a hot minute to find the power button when I first setting it up - but I blame that on having a total blonde moment. Great addition to the speaker family!

The JBL Eon one sounds great. It paired easily and operates at a great distance from the source (if necessary). The battery charged quickly and a single charge can last up to 12 hours. Be sure to download the app and update prior to using the first time. The app makes it easy to control all the features and includes an EQ for customizing your sound. The unit has 4 channels for multiple inputs (2 MIC's, guitar, etc) or works great for streaming music. Has a convenient "slot" on top to store your phone and has an easy, built-in handle for transport. The Eon One also offers a "ducking' feature which works great when speaking over music, such as DJ, dance instructor, or during a presentation, etc. Can be used standing up, laying on it's side (like a monitor speaker) or mounted on a stand (optional). Weighs only 18 lbs but packs an incredible 112db of sound, plenty for a group gathering or to fill a backyard with tunes,

    An Excellent Audio System

This portable PA system is truly excellent for what it is. It's not your typical portable Bluetooth speaker, much more than something that simple. It has come in rather handy for monthly staff meetings with all the social distancing requirements that means our staff has to be spread out over a large space which would make it hard for everyone to hear me and the rest of our leadership team speak. I synced up a Bluetooth microphone and now everyone can hear us speak clearly. When there are questions we just pass the mic over and everyone can hear those questions and our response. Need to do an audio presentation to the group? Download it to my phone and play via the speaker to the group. Easy peasy! As for sound quality it's really darn good. Then again, this is a JBL speaker so good sound quality is to be expected and this puppy delivers. Sadly I must report I tortured my staff with my 80's music collection prior to the meeting starting and most folks commented on just how good that speaker sounds. An added benefit is that it is truly portable. The removable battery has easily provided several hours of use and I'm happy with that. The downside, and I feel stupid saying this considering it's a portable PA system is the size and weight. It's a tradeoff I'm happy with considering just how versatile this thing is. Overall, an excellent portable PA that is like having an audio swiss army knife at your disposal.

I've been using the JBL for awhile now. I've been using it for my guitar and for music when I'm outside grilling. I love the battery aspect of this speaker. I've had others that I have to plug in to power and its a pain, especially if I'm trying to play in a more intimate setting with my guitar while singing, and sometimes there no power outlets anywhere. This speaker makes it just breeze to pick up, pulg in your mic, guitar, and play wherever whenever. You bump it with friends in the backyard and play guitar at a coffee shop, the choice is yours. For the size this thing gets loud! The bass response could be better but again its not a huge speaker. The app is what opens this thing up whether it be extra volume boost or fine tune the EQ on the sound. So you need to download the app to get the most out of the speaker. I plug in my guitar or mic and I can get some amazing reverb and other effects on it. But my main issue is the app its pretty buggy and not user friendly. There's alot of awesome stuff you can do with it when it works. That being said they have been updating it and the firmware. So it can only get better. For me this speaker is the total package. Any thing you need, it will do and then some.

Speaker's frequency response is balanced and sounds fuller than the size suggests. Battery charges quickly and control panel is easy to understand. The ducking feature allows a host to use the speaker to talk to the crowd while dialing back the Bluetooth music/ instruments. Plenty of headroom for a coffee shop/front porch acoustic gig away from a power source. Vocal mics can take all the gain even while acoustic guitar pickups should be gained halfway for best results.

    Looks good on paper.... But

First a little about me, I'm a singer/songwriter and know my way around pro audio devices. So when I saw the specs of this JBL I was definitely "wowed"! Sadly, that feeling was short-lived. On paper it looks great - an impressive output, built-in multichannel mixer, effects, XLR inputs, phantom power.. And even bluetooth integration and its own app on android and IOS. The addition of 2 usb ports is also pretty cool in case you have additional devices that need to draw power (or you just need to charge your phone). First things first. I tried two different mics. A shure beta 58, and an AT2020. The second being a condenser - so the phantom power setting was needed. With both mics - no matter what I did, or how I placed them all the EON wanted to do was be a constant high-pitched feedback machine. The levels were all set far below what I would normally utilize in an "on-stage" setting. I tried tweaking the gain, the eq and effects (which you can do in-app) ---- and no joy. So I tinkered around with the app and noticed that there was a firmware upgrade available. I thought "great! this could fix this issue"! Though, I was just guessing because no change-logs are provided. So, I'd get through all the steps of the firmware upgrade and then it would just freeze, and revert back to the previous firmware. I contacted JBL support, and they said this is a known problem - and that an app update coming within a week would fix the problem(s). Weeks later, and that promised software update still hasn't arrived. Sure, if I just wanted this to play, for instance, streamed music from bluetooth, then sure - this would be a great device and excels at that. However, it's much more than just that. Or at least it should be. I feel that right now it is neutered in its abilities. If you can't use a mic without a ton of feedback - what's the point? Sure, at one point I thought it *may* have been "operator error", but I quickly ruled that out. I honestly can say that I would not recommend this device in its current state. If by chance things DO eventually get fixed via a firmware update - I will update this review. Otherwise, No Bueno.

We have a firmware and app update available. These don't address the 'feedback' issues you reported when using microphones. Like any of our Portable PA products, you'll achieve the best results when placed slightly behind and to the side of the speaker. Please reach out to our JBL Pro support team at any time if you need further assistance. JBL
