I tried a new speaker and had the exact same issue.

Posted .Thanks for your feedback, if you're experiencing a crackling sound please try to connect the speaker on different source device to see if the unit or the source device is the problem. If the issue still persist try to reset the unit to factory default setting by
1. Turn on the speaker.
2. Press and hold "Volume +" and "Play" for more than 3 seconds. Speaker will turn off, and reboot to factory default.
You may need to 'forget' the speaker in Bluetooth settings on your phone/tablet in order to pair it again.
If the issue persist please contact our customer support.

We use them to float down a river and if we get separated there is no loss in sound. Do recommend.

I use it at my desk quite a bit and it doesn’t even last the day and the roundness of it makes me have to adjust it sometimes. I get why it’s this shape since it’s niche is probably for swimming pools but I should have looked for a rectangle design instead.
