I bought them because the fire alarm in my apartment complex kept going off at odd times of the night. I was able to use the earbuds to minimize the noise but not completely eliminate the sound. It is more effective at lessening voices and other sounds like during air travels. Oh, the connectivity could be better as well. It takes a minute to switch between devices and connect.

There is a better seal so thr sound cancelling works much better. Sound/base is noticably better than earlier version.
