The JBL Xtreme 4 overall is a good speaker, but I returned it for a handful of reasons. What I liked: The sound quality at low-medium volume is fairly good and sounds open enough for this size of speaker. The size of the speaker makes it really quite portable and the shoulder strap is really high quality which makes the product all the more premium. The removable battery and just the great battery life in general are a nice addition compared to past models. The app is easy to use and made changing the EQ very easy. What I did not like: The sound quality at higher volumes greatly diminishes and thins out as the main drivers aren’t able to supply enough power for more air movement. It makes the speaker sound harsh and tinny while also losing its lower frequency presence. The actual max volume of this speaker is okay, but just was not what I was looking for in a medium sized portable speaker. The Price: Coming from someone who owns a pair or SOUNDBOKS 3’s and other high end Bluetooth/SKAA audio, I am used to a hefty price tag. But I just could not justify the $270 I spent on this while it was on sale (let alone retail at $380). Conclusion: If you want something portable that has decent sound quality for indoor listening, go ahead if you have the budget. But if you want something with better max volume performance and sound quality, I think you’re best to look elsewhere.

the JBL Extreme 4 does the job. Fuctions well, easy setup, plays loud, and provides decent quality sound for a single speaker.

Very excellent sound. I have traveled to 3 countries. It withstands rain, salt water, and sand. It is very practical at all times. And what's more, it comes with a beer opener.

I bought this speaker for my golf cart and it has a great sound, also like the strap that comes with it and that you can change out the battery in it. I also bought it because I have the JBL Party Box 320 that also has great sound and I love that they both use the same battery

I have purchased a lot of bluetooth enabled speakers for my wife so she can sit out in the sun and enjoy music while enjoying the day. JBL is the first and only speaker that has great sound, ease of connectivity, and has a battery life that is worth the cost. You will not be disappointed in the JBL brand. I liked it so much I bought four of the CHARGE5 models.

I love the sound of this speaker. Crisp mids and highs and good bass. The included shoulder strap is great for portability. I really like the fact it has an access door for a replacement battery to give the speaker some longevity

Definitely way better than the Extreme 3, a lot mor louder and powerfull, I purchased it to try and was planning to return the speaker if it sounde similar to the xtreme 3, but this extreme 4 sounds way better I heard it and decided to keep it, it sounds amazing, I have a boom box 3, but use more my extreme 4 because of the improved sound and portability.

This JBL puts out the beats clearly and loud. It is easy to tote along with the carrying strap making the portability easy.

Son loves it and it has made him want to collect these speaker. He now has 3 different JBL speakers either the newest latest model or a different color.
