This is the best portable speaker i ever had (and i had a lot) very powerful with great deep bass... battery holds very good, Big plus, speaker is water splash proof.... I would definitely recommend this product to every one..... the size of it is a little big.....

this JBL speaker i compared to most on the market. i found Xtreme to have better sound quality, excellent bass, highs and loaded with extra features. i especially like that i can take it around the pool and not have to worry about getting it splashed on. doesn't get better than this for the money, but the name "JBL" says it all!

The JBL Xtreme is the best sounding speaker in it's class. It is rugged, splashproof, and although not the most portable, still very much manageable. The sound is incredible, it is not muffled at all. Bass is incredible! The place where this speaker really stands out is when used outdoors. You WILL NOT be disappointed!!

Pretty much ditto what everyone else said. The sound is great, it is easy to carry. Something that may help others...I use mine outside a lot. I am a dance instructor. It is important to be mobile for me. If you have doubts about sound traveling with this...don't, it is great. Base sounds good. Directions are a bit sparse so I have issues connecting sometimes and like everyones says, it does miss the first couple seconds of the song, but I forgave it for the sound. It is perfect for my purpose.

Good battery life, charges phone while playing music, connets to multiple devices, sounds great. Carrying strap is OK

Was hesitant about buying this item for the actual retail price and thought about it off and on for about a month. Was hoping the speaker would go on sale around the holidays and it sure did! I could not be happier about this purchase. Love the blue tooth connectivity and the battery life. Sound quality is on par with other speakers, yet the selling ticket for me is how you can connect multiple speakers together. Great buy!

This thing sounds absolutely incredible. It has ACTUAL bass, the treble and midrange are crystal clear, and the volume can be cranked WAY up without distortion. I absolutely LOVE this little speaker and would be it again in a heartbeat if it were to break on me. Only thing that would make it slightly better would be built wireless to connect it to my home network and stream music saved on my hard drive, like Sonos.

JBL Kicks! Really has good sound and the Bluetooth works great. Battery lasts a long time jamming when not on charger. Good bass for such a little speaker. Can't wait to link 2 or maybe 4 of them up one day. This item gets 2 thumbs up.

This is a fantastic portable Bluetooth speaker. Durable, solid, well built. Unfortunately, the passive radiators at each end of speaker are not protected so I have to deduct 1 star. Great full range sound. Bass is phenomenal. Skipping songs or changing playlists will cause speaker to miss the first second or two of next song. This is a bit irritating but by no means a deal breaker. (Some have been able to correct this with a firmware update. I have been unable do so.) Overall, this is the best Bluetooth speaker I have ever owned. Highly recommend.

I have been reading reviews on this product for a while. I listened to a friend's and I knew I wanted one. Finally I purchased it and have not been disappointed, the bass is great and clear treble and the battery life as well as charging capabilities is just what I was looking for. I have a beats+ I love but no water resistance and I work with water so it's a no brainer.

This is a great sounding speaker, one of the best on the market. It fills a room with great sound and multiple speakers can be connected by Bluetooth. It looks great and is portable, although it is heavy in hand. It does drop the first few seconds of a song when you first start playing and is sometimes a little slow to connect to my laptop by Bluetooth. You also have to wait about three or four rings before answering when using it as a speakerphone. Overall, a great item.

I compared this speaker to the Bose Soundlink lll and I picked this speaker because to me you get better bass, good quality vocals, and splash- proof feature is a plus. Super easy to connect with Bluetooth and wireless... awesome.

Sounds great and plays really loud without disorting. Love that i can charge my phone while listening to music. Was a great choice.

I purchased this JBL Xtreme to replace my old Beats Pill XL. The Pill XL was an awesome speaker, unfortunately, it had a battery issue and I returned it to Apple. After I returned the Pill XL to Apple, I struggled with finding a speaker that had similar sound quality, battery life and some of the other little features I liked about my Pill XL. So when I was walking through Best Buy I stumbled upon this little gem and purchased the blue one. Here are the things I liked (in no particular order) 1. First off, it plays extremely loud and doesn't seem to have any issues, even at higher volumes. The bass is extraordinarily loud AND clear. It's not boomy for the sake of it. The sound quality is very balanced and works great both indoors and outdoors. When listening this, everyone will enjoy it and have a great time. 2. I love that it has indicator lights to show how much battery is remaining, which by the way is a long time. I have used it for 7-8 hours and it is still showing 5 full battery lights. Not bad for something that is supposed to last only 15 hours. 3. I like that it has a USB output to charge phones, tablets, etc. while using the speaker. 4. I like that this is splash resistant, so when I am at the pool or outdoors, I don't have to worry about rain. Keep in mind, it's splash resistant not waterproof. So don't try dunking this in the water. 5. The included carrying strap makes this easy to carry around. It's actually a little more convenient than the handle the Pill XL had as I can sling this on my shoulder and use my hands to carry other items. And like the Pill XL, this is not light. But still easily toted around. 6. I like that it has volume and play/pause controls on the top. I wished they could have added track control, but not really that big of a deal breaker for me. 7. The companion smartphone app is pretty decent. JBL recently updated it to allow you to designate how the play/pause button on the speaker works. You can use it to control play/pause of the music or you can change it to activate your phone's voice assistant (Siri/Google). I also like you can perform firmware updates through the app, thus reducing the need to connect the speaker directly to a computer through micro-USB. 8. Even though it is cylindrical, it has nice little rubberized feet at the bottom to keep it upright and from rolling of a table. 9. You can connect up to 3 devices at one time and at any time, you can play music through one of those 3 seamlessly. Now for the things I wish that were improved: 1. While I understand that the zipper used to hide the power ports is to keep the water out, it doesn't open enough to allow easy enough access to the charging port or USB port. You have to kind of push the zipper sides aside to get to the ports. After a while you get used to it, but I feel like there could have been a better design. 2. I wish that this could have been charged using Micro-USB instead of proprietary charger. You get a separate charger with a decent sized brick. I get that they probably did this to keep the weight down as it is already heavy, but it's another thing you have to carry with you and it's not small. 3. I wished that JBL put some sort of metal protective grill over the two side speaker cones. It definitely looks cool to see them in action, but I worry about something coming into contact with them, like an errant foot or rock if you leave it on the ground. I would definitely sacrifice that little bit of extra weight for security for the speaker drivers. Overall, I am extremely happy with this speaker. It sounds fantastic, has great battery life, is water resistant and is portable. Sure there are some items I don't like about it, but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.

I heard good things about this speaker and was looking for something portable without sacrificing good sound quality. This speaker has clear highs and deep lows. A great feature is the Bluetooth, which lets me connect to my phone to play music wirelessly. This is a great overall speaker!

Of all the Bluetooth speakers I have, this one is by far the best. Great sound overall. Plenty of bass. The sound definitely fills the room. Holds its charge well. It is not as portable as other smaller speakers, but the sound more than makes up for this fact.

I bought the JBL instead of Bose because of the water proof feature as we wanted to use it near our pool. It sounds great and the bluetooth was easy to set up. I have a Bose for indoors and it probably has a little better sound but the JBL is great too. Would definitely recommend.

It took me a while to make a decision to buy it. I did so much research that at some point i decided not to buy any wireless speakers. I went through many stores and listened most of wireless speakers. But, this JBL line had something that grabbed my attention. Once I ended up buying it - it was actually Exactly what i needed for any outdoor and indoor events or just simply enjoying the music whenever i want. Believe me - i am now the "favorite guest" to be invited to any event! I love that i can walk in with the style, by playing music as i walk in! It is really cool! The mood changes immediately. I love that you can place the speaker close or far - the sound is amazing anywhere you place it. Very loud! Very nice bass! (exactly what i was looking for). Actually, I first bought the JBL Charge 3 but, though it was a great speaker, it just did not have enough power/bass for my taste. The JBL Extreme speaks for itself! I took it with me on vacation, near ocean - every one loved the music on the beach! They all kinda gathered near us and enjoyed the Romantic Spanish Guitar evening :). Basically, this has become my "pal" and it is always with me anywhere i go! I love that it plays music for hours! I mean, i did not time it specifically but, I played it for more than 10 hours and it was still going! I also love that you can charge your phone while streaming music to the speaker! It has two usb charging inputs. I also love that i can play the music from my old iPod via audio cable (it was not wireless back then). Also, I am not afraid when it rains, or when there is dust or sand... It is has enough isolation to not get damaged easily. You cannot dip it into water though :) but, it is splash resistant. So, it is versatile and very useful! Also, it plays very nice on low volume. Sometimes (depends on quality of recording) it may sound boomy or muffled but, i tried high quality tracks (not mp3 but CD, lossless quality) and it just sounds fantastic on any volume. You gotta be careful with those mp3s, because they cut down the frequencies that are noticeable in this case. Looks like this speaker is designed for quality music. I love the strap that comes with it! I can just put it on the shoulder and music is everywhere i go! Also, i am planning on purchasing another one and you can pair both of those to produce STEREO sound! I hear my friend playing that and oh man, it sounds fantastic! The only issue is that it will cost me $500 bucks but, you know what - if you can afford it - it is worth every penny!

Went on line to read reviews, read a lot of good reviews but there were also a lot of bad reviews regarding battery issues. After listening to other Bluetooth speakers including the JBL Charge 4, even with the bad reviews I decided to purchase this item. I am really picky about how my music sounds and unit filled all my expectations I had for a Bluetooth speaker. So far so good, the sound is excellent with deep bass, crisp highs giving it some depth and sounds excellent for most of the music I enjoy listening to from classical, world music to jazz. As for the battery issue, I haven't had any problems, I can listen to the unit for a few days before charging. Everyone who has heard really was quite impressed. I also bought the additional insurance for the product just in case because of the bad reviews regarding the battery.
