Speaker is fantastic for filling up a medium size room with sound. The overall sound is full and bass is deep considering the size. I've used this outside also while working on some projects and it really projects sound well. The bass disappears a little more outside but still for how portable it is the sound is great. Would recommend to most people looking for a speaker to fill a room. It's not as portable as some of the smaller ones but you get a little larger sound.

Price was right sound is tight and the bass is pumpin! Has the great features and the strap to bring to the party.

Stronger bass than any other similar sized speaker. Highs are also very detailed and balanced. When listening for the first time, the bass will clearly stand out compared to anything you've listened to previously. There is a bass peak but it is pretty low in frequency so it does not sound like a mid-bass boost and it actually helps make kick drums and movie effects powerful. The mids and highs will be neutral, although as you listen at louder levels you can notice less distortion and fatigue, probably because of the bi-amping. Other handy functions such as USB charging work well. BT connectivity and distance also are strong, but can start cutting out if there is any interference such as a microwave in close proximity. Skin and visual appearance look and feel fabulous.

The sound and bass on the JBL Xtreme is phenomenal for a Bluetooth portable speaker. I looked at the Bose Sound link III and the JBL Xtreme. The Xtreme blew the Bose Sound link III away. The Xtreme can also charge your phone or mp3 device with its 2 USB ports. With a 15 hour battery and a water resistant design whats not to like.

Great sound, easy to connect w/ Bluetooth! Not sure about the battery life just yet, but it looks promising!

This is the best portable speaker I ever had. I had sony srs x7 and harman kardon onyx studio 2 speakers and jbl is far better than the other 2. Bass of onyx 2 is good but when we consider battery backup, portability and waterproof/sturdiness, jgl rules...

Speaker is easy to connect to other Bluetooth devices. The sound is great at all volumes. The bass is very strong, but does not overpower the highs. We listen to many different genres of music and all sound excellent. I have not paid attention to battery life, but have gone many days without having to charge it.

Features wise it's great I can answer the phone straight from the speaker. It can charge my phone . It has a good weight to it, played some music and people thought I had a super expensive sound system. I love the option to carry the speaker around. Jbl did a great job I can hear everything clearly and bass was great too. I probably will buy another one and try the dual speaker feature

It's not going to have the same kind of output as a subwoofer. If you have listened to a lot of portable speakers, you know some do better than others at hitting the lower frequencies. This is definitely one of the better ones. In addition to being able to reproduce good bass, the rest of music and TV shows sounds great and very clear. You'd swear LeBron James was in my house giving his post-game interview instead of Oakland. I didn't have any issues with battery life or Bluetooth. It's kind of on the big side but it's worth the trade off for the lower frequency response. Apparently the new version has tighter bass but not as pronounced. If you just want the boom, get the first generation over the second. You'll be very happy with it. Especially if it is on sale.

I absolutely love this speaker, it gives rich lows for bass. Sometimes I have to look and ask myself if all this sound is coming from this speaker. It’s also splash proof and gives you hours of play. Love it!

Great highs and lows, deep bass and long battery life. Great for on the go I take to the gym, work, etc. Can't find a negative thing to say about the Extreme JBL has hit the nail on the head with this product!!

I like this speaker a lot. It's loud with a lot of bass. Sounds great. The only con I see is that it isn't very rugged. The subs are exposed at both ends. The outside material is like a fabric also. It's a great speaker for in the house or by the pool. I just wouldn't suggest it for any rugged type activities. Overall it is a great speaker though. 4 out of 5!

I absolutely love the JBL products, they're simple to use and provide great sound. I got mine on black Friday at an awesome price even when the store was sold out. The sales rep was nice enough to offer to order it for me without me asking. my favorite feature is how you can link multiple speakers together to create an even bigger sound. I highly recommend this product and the water proof capability is definitely a top quality.

It has amazing bass, but at times it was not needed & seemed to be a bit excessive. If only there were a button to turn on/off to control that. I wish there was an easier way to carry the speaker without having to attach a shoulder strap (that is provided). My MAJOR complaint is with the Bluetooth connection. Within a month of using it regularly, it would not pair as easily as it first did. So I kept having to tell my devices to “forget it” and it would pair after doing so just fine. It was also annoying when the speaker would stop playing a song everytime I received a notification. Also I started having problems with the sound, it would not let me up the volume and at times it would sound as if someone had a pillow over the speaker (just so you can picture the sound) It was very bizarre, but i could never get it back to its original sound. I exchanged the first one as defective for the exact speaker and within the first week it started showing the same similar issues. I wished this speaker worked like it should have. I returned the second speaker.

I was lucky a great salesperson was able to take me right to a display and then showed me different options. He recommends two of them. This one and one just a bit smaller. We choose this one great sound and bass from a small package and it can charge our phones etc as a added bonus

This speaker is worth every penny. It has amazing battery life, and the fact that it is so portable is a plus. Honestly, the sound is great, I can hear it all over the house from the living room.
