    Great speaker but.........

    I just bought one of these, it's very nice and very sturdy, I got the blue one, nice color :) anyhow I had to take it back for an exchange because it would not play music smoothly when paired with my iMac, iPhone 6s plus or my iPad. The music was not continuous and constantly skipping and popping and at times sounded like when you slow a record down..then it would speed back up, really weird. I did extensive troubleshooting with JBL support and basically we could not figure out what the problem was, the customer service rep just said that JBL could not guarrantee the quality of their products if you don't purchase directly from JBL...LOL oh well...I think this JBL Extreme speaker is very nice but it would not work at all with my Apple devices or my wife's Samsung Galaxy Note. Buyer beware!!

    Battery issues

    I have returned the extreme 2 times because the battery would not charge to 100%. The sound was great tho just to bad either one I got would charge all the way. I ended up with the extreme 2 which has been working great so far. The sound and bass isn't quite as loud as the original but hoping for an update to fix that from JBL. The extreme 2 is still a great purchase tho when on sell.

    Just a Noisy Box!!!

    I am usually a Bose fan but just thought to give a try with this and purchased on Black Friday deal. I have used it for couple of days and all I can say it just makes noise and no balance in audio output...Its too loud....Finally switched back to Bose....If you are looking for a quality Bluetooth speaker this is not for you.

    Great sound quality! Battery no good after 1.5 yrs

    This speaker has wonderful sound quality, and for the first year and a half AWESOME battery life. HOWEVER, the batter life after that has greatly declined and after an hour or so, I have to plug it in. This truly defeats the purpose of the speaker altogether, and truly am disappointed now that this is mostly a wired speaker.

    I am really not sure why this got such good review. The sound quality was lack luster at best, if you turned to full volume with became distorted on some types of music. Not at all the quality I expect for this price point. I believe you could spend far less and receive as good or better results, taking mine back today.

    Bad Batteries

    Returned due to battery failure, can't be repaired so they gave me a new one. New one did the same thing, batteries crapped out. JBL says too bad. They'll give me a coupon for a 10% discount. However it really sounds good, just have to plug it in all the time.

    Title said it all. I've used this speaker (two of them) sporadically for a year, sometimes charged my phone off its USB ports. But after a year, it stopped charging. I tried different charger but it didn't work. It must be a battery failure. I've found out online this is a common problem.

    Good sound; very limited blue tooth range

    The speaker sounded very good. We were trying to pair it with our other JBL speaker which is exactly the same. They would pair if they were very close but would not connect anything close to the 50 foot range which was described.

    The JBL Xtreme is a big speaker; it is heavy and takes up a considerable amount of counter space. Despite its size, I was not impressed with the power or sound of the JBL Xtreme. In my opinion the JBL Charge is a better speaker.

    The product looks nice but quality in sound is low, for the price you're paying you would expect the item to be loud. Returned it and got a $100 speaker tailgate ION, loud for sure.

    Battery problems a week after purchasing. Bluetooth works most of the time but sometimes has trouble. Will be returning soon.

    After 2 hours it would shut off and really has a battery life of about 5 hours. Did not drown out warehouse noise.
