Bought this speaker a few months ago and i was not disappointed. The sound and bass was what i expected. Ive used it in an open soccer field and i could still hear the music from quite a distance. And the long lasting battery is great for to last all day. Also its very rugged and has survied a few drops from my car.

This is one of the greatest Bluetooth speakers I had seen so far, I love the sound n the great base n it's so easy to pair with any Bluetooth device... JBL u r the best

Holy BOOM STICK Batman! I watched/read a couple hours of reviews before this purchase. We have a Sonos system in the house, and we wanted music on the upstairs patio/downstairs deck. We thought about another Play:1, but the weather in KC, MO is...intense. The Sonos isn't weatherproof. Then...when we go to the pool or need mobile tunes...the Sonos is worthless without WIFI. So I started looking for a Bluetooth speaker and started with UE. Their Megaboom seemed like the Bluetooth portable class favorite. And yes, it is smaller, a little cheaper(?) and fully waterproof. It also doesn't sound as good. ...and what's the point if a speaker doesn't sound good?! With the intent of listening outside (and not underwater) the JBL beats it hands down. In every way, unless you just need a smaller or waterproof solution. Inside, it sounds better than the $200 Sonos Play:1. Outside, where it counts, it sounds open and full with a real bass response, thanks to the 2 passive radiators at each end. (I also love watching them vibrate...it's very old school bass head satisfying.) I listen to rock, rap, metal and old school country. For what it is, this thing pounds. The expectations have to be reasonable though. Don't max the volume and don't expect it to hit like a trunk full of 12" JL subs. I always listen to a few songs to test any new speakers. U2's 'With or Without You', Ozzy's 'Mama I'm Comin' Home' and 'Brass Monkey' by the Beastie Boys. With the right setup, they all have tons of low end. Those songs will give any decent sub a workout...and they have enough high end that they won't sound right if the system isn't balanced. The JBL passed the test with flying colors. Did I mention it has two USB ports than can charge your phone/tablet?! Killer!! It really is excellent! Some of the best money I've spent in a while for sound. The JBL Xtreme was perfect for the patio/deck/pool tunes!

This little speaker has fantastic sound . I Bluetooth this to my iPad and walk it way out on my deck and it still plays great . It's got an amazing range. It's met all my expectations. No cords to run out to my deck , The charge lasts for hours .

I honestly bought this item for the sale price on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I can't remember which one I bought the speaker on. The point is if you are looking for a speaker. This is definitely the speaker that you want to get. I have own other speakers before this one and nothing compares to it. The bass is amazing, and the sound quality is stunning! It will literally blow your mind. I also like the fact that it is the size of a loaf of bread. It comes with a nice detachable carrying strap. I thought this was a great feature. Another mind-blowing feature of this speaker is the fact that it is water resistant. The USB and other ports and sealed in by a zipper. How cool is that? I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new speaker. This speaker is KILLER!

this JBL speaker i compared to most on the market. i found Xtreme to have better sound quality, excellent bass, highs and loaded with extra features. i especially like that i can take it around the pool and not have to worry about getting it splashed on. doesn't get better than this for the money, but the name "JBL" says it all!

Pretty much ditto what everyone else said. The sound is great, it is easy to carry. Something that may help others...I use mine outside a lot. I am a dance instructor. It is important to be mobile for me. If you have doubts about sound traveling with this...don't, it is great. Base sounds good. Directions are a bit sparse so I have issues connecting sometimes and like everyones says, it does miss the first couple seconds of the song, but I forgave it for the sound. It is perfect for my purpose.

I compared this speaker to the Bose Soundlink lll and I picked this speaker because to me you get better bass, good quality vocals, and splash- proof feature is a plus. Super easy to connect with Bluetooth and wireless... awesome.

Sounds great and plays really loud without disorting. Love that i can charge my phone while listening to music. Was a great choice.

I purchased this JBL Xtreme to replace my old Beats Pill XL. The Pill XL was an awesome speaker, unfortunately, it had a battery issue and I returned it to Apple. After I returned the Pill XL to Apple, I struggled with finding a speaker that had similar sound quality, battery life and some of the other little features I liked about my Pill XL. So when I was walking through Best Buy I stumbled upon this little gem and purchased the blue one. Here are the things I liked (in no particular order) 1. First off, it plays extremely loud and doesn't seem to have any issues, even at higher volumes. The bass is extraordinarily loud AND clear. It's not boomy for the sake of it. The sound quality is very balanced and works great both indoors and outdoors. When listening this, everyone will enjoy it and have a great time. 2. I love that it has indicator lights to show how much battery is remaining, which by the way is a long time. I have used it for 7-8 hours and it is still showing 5 full battery lights. Not bad for something that is supposed to last only 15 hours. 3. I like that it has a USB output to charge phones, tablets, etc. while using the speaker. 4. I like that this is splash resistant, so when I am at the pool or outdoors, I don't have to worry about rain. Keep in mind, it's splash resistant not waterproof. So don't try dunking this in the water. 5. The included carrying strap makes this easy to carry around. It's actually a little more convenient than the handle the Pill XL had as I can sling this on my shoulder and use my hands to carry other items. And like the Pill XL, this is not light. But still easily toted around. 6. I like that it has volume and play/pause controls on the top. I wished they could have added track control, but not really that big of a deal breaker for me. 7. The companion smartphone app is pretty decent. JBL recently updated it to allow you to designate how the play/pause button on the speaker works. You can use it to control play/pause of the music or you can change it to activate your phone's voice assistant (Siri/Google). I also like you can perform firmware updates through the app, thus reducing the need to connect the speaker directly to a computer through micro-USB. 8. Even though it is cylindrical, it has nice little rubberized feet at the bottom to keep it upright and from rolling of a table. 9. You can connect up to 3 devices at one time and at any time, you can play music through one of those 3 seamlessly. Now for the things I wish that were improved: 1. While I understand that the zipper used to hide the power ports is to keep the water out, it doesn't open enough to allow easy enough access to the charging port or USB port. You have to kind of push the zipper sides aside to get to the ports. After a while you get used to it, but I feel like there could have been a better design. 2. I wish that this could have been charged using Micro-USB instead of proprietary charger. You get a separate charger with a decent sized brick. I get that they probably did this to keep the weight down as it is already heavy, but it's another thing you have to carry with you and it's not small. 3. I wished that JBL put some sort of metal protective grill over the two side speaker cones. It definitely looks cool to see them in action, but I worry about something coming into contact with them, like an errant foot or rock if you leave it on the ground. I would definitely sacrifice that little bit of extra weight for security for the speaker drivers. Overall, I am extremely happy with this speaker. It sounds fantastic, has great battery life, is water resistant and is portable. Sure there are some items I don't like about it, but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.

First of all, it's a single, relatively small speaker so I hope no one expects audiofile type sounds from this. That being said, it is a very good speaker with what I think is some of the best and clear audio. I got this as a back up for my fiancee's zumba classes and it can deliver the volume. The only issue I've found is the bluetooth range can be a bit dodgy. I'm used to my NudeAudio Super M which has incredible range. I'd say it's about the same as a Jambox Mini, which isn't bad. Just don't expect it to play through a wall without interruptions

This Bluetooth speaker not just surprised me but my guest also. The sound is great and love the deep Bass that it produces. Would recommend this product to all. Yes it's a little expensive but worth every penny.

This is my second Xtreme. I bought a black one and now a blue one. I wanted to run them as a pair in stereo. I tried it out right away and it sounds incredible for a completely wireless system. I did this to use outdoors on the patio. A lot cheaper than hardwired outdoor speakers, sound great. And they offer the flexibility of being portable. JBL did a great job on these speakers!

This speaker had a great battery life. I have used it for 10 hours continuously and still read 1 light bar out of 5. The sound is good. At low to medium level the base is strong. At full it fades a bit but still sounds good. The shoulder strap it comes with makes it easy to carry around. It remembered 3 devices I have so I don't have to keep reconnecting. Overall it's a good Bluetooth for pool side, beach or BBQ. It's not going to rock a party outdoors but will fill indoor room nicely.

I was a bit skeptical before buying this speaker but then I decided to take a chance and buy it . The sound quality and the bass it produces is phenomenal. Indoor or outdoors its simply amazing. Best for pool parties as it is spalsh proof. It has amazing battery life and I need not charge it often. If you are looking for a good quality speaker which you can rely on then this is the best and I would definitely recommend this.

this speaker is best speaker I bought since long. It has very good sound, high bass....very good for small sized parties indoor or outdoor. Highly recommend everyone.
