It took me a while to make a decision to buy it. I did so much research that at some point i decided not to buy any wireless speakers. I went through many stores and listened most of wireless speakers. But, this JBL line had something that grabbed my attention. Once I ended up buying it - it was actually Exactly what i needed for any outdoor and indoor events or just simply enjoying the music whenever i want. Believe me - i am now the "favorite guest" to be invited to any event! I love that i can walk in with the style, by playing music as i walk in! It is really cool! The mood changes immediately. I love that you can place the speaker close or far - the sound is amazing anywhere you place it. Very loud! Very nice bass! (exactly what i was looking for). Actually, I first bought the JBL Charge 3 but, though it was a great speaker, it just did not have enough power/bass for my taste. The JBL Extreme speaks for itself! I took it with me on vacation, near ocean - every one loved the music on the beach! They all kinda gathered near us and enjoyed the Romantic Spanish Guitar evening :). Basically, this has become my "pal" and it is always with me anywhere i go! I love that it plays music for hours! I mean, i did not time it specifically but, I played it for more than 10 hours and it was still going! I also love that you can charge your phone while streaming music to the speaker! It has two usb charging inputs. I also love that i can play the music from my old iPod via audio cable (it was not wireless back then). Also, I am not afraid when it rains, or when there is dust or sand... It is has enough isolation to not get damaged easily. You cannot dip it into water though :) but, it is splash resistant. So, it is versatile and very useful! Also, it plays very nice on low volume. Sometimes (depends on quality of recording) it may sound boomy or muffled but, i tried high quality tracks (not mp3 but CD, lossless quality) and it just sounds fantastic on any volume. You gotta be careful with those mp3s, because they cut down the frequencies that are noticeable in this case. Looks like this speaker is designed for quality music. I love the strap that comes with it! I can just put it on the shoulder and music is everywhere i go! Also, i am planning on purchasing another one and you can pair both of those to produce STEREO sound! I hear my friend playing that and oh man, it sounds fantastic! The only issue is that it will cost me $500 bucks but, you know what - if you can afford it - it is worth every penny!

Went on line to read reviews, read a lot of good reviews but there were also a lot of bad reviews regarding battery issues. After listening to other Bluetooth speakers including the JBL Charge 4, even with the bad reviews I decided to purchase this item. I am really picky about how my music sounds and unit filled all my expectations I had for a Bluetooth speaker. So far so good, the sound is excellent with deep bass, crisp highs giving it some depth and sounds excellent for most of the music I enjoy listening to from classical, world music to jazz. As for the battery issue, I haven't had any problems, I can listen to the unit for a few days before charging. Everyone who has heard really was quite impressed. I also bought the additional insurance for the product just in case because of the bad reviews regarding the battery.

This thing has enormous power, bass and clarity for it's size. It will fill a very large room with significant acoustics and sound. The output of this unit actually is more enormous than the Pill XL, which I thought was one of the louder units.

First of all, it's a single, relatively small speaker so I hope no one expects audiofile type sounds from this. That being said, it is a very good speaker with what I think is some of the best and clear audio. I got this as a back up for my fiancee's zumba classes and it can deliver the volume. The only issue I've found is the bluetooth range can be a bit dodgy. I'm used to my NudeAudio Super M which has incredible range. I'd say it's about the same as a Jambox Mini, which isn't bad. Just don't expect it to play through a wall without interruptions

Sound quality is good. Plays from my iPhone really well, good range. Get about 15hrs run time at half volume. Sound fills a big room very well. A little pricey but worth it. Everyone I know has commented on how loud it can get. Good bass for such a small speaker.

Overall great speaker. The music comes through clear and loud especially the bass. I typically use this at over half volume and no matter how loud it gets the clarity does not get distorted like some other speakers.

Bought it for my husband for work. Great sound but could use a little more base. Great volume. He drives a semi and the volume is great over the loud truck. Charges quickly and so far the charge lasts the whole night. Much better sound and volume than the Beats Pill XL (which has been recalled). Got it for half off on Black Friday. Very pleased with the purchase.

This Bluetooth speaker not just surprised me but my guest also. The sound is great and love the deep Bass that it produces. Would recommend this product to all. Yes it's a little expensive but worth every penny.

I did a lot of research on this Bluetooth speaker before I purchased it and I've heard tons of good feedback before I decided to pull the trigger. Didn't see it on sale anywhere so it made me research other speakers longer before I went ahead and purchased the charge 3. The good things about it is that the battery lasts forever and it's waterproof you can fully submerge it in water, has a rugged design with good mids and bass for its size. There is no distortion when I have the volume at max. As far as sound balance that's where I would of liked the highs to shine a tiny bit more and it would just sound so much clearer and well balanced so not quite there. It's nice having the option of having 2 of these linked up to your bluetooth with the Jbl connect function another reason I decided to buy it but only able to link up 2 speakers at a time max.

I thought the speaker after trying out some of the smaller versions made by other companies. This one definitely has the best sound quality. It tends to give off much lower bass and can be overwhelming to the other spectrum of sound. If you have a way to change the treble and mid coming out of the device you're using, you can vastly improve the sound quality. I would definitely recommend this speaker to anybody who's looking for something that is somewhat portable , but big enough to put out big sound.

This is an outdoor speaker first that can be used indoors. You'll appreciate the bass once you are out in the open. It's loud and portable with a decent battery life. Yet it still sounds indoors. You can add or reduce bass by positioning it either away from a wall or close to a wall. Any speaker generally produce more bass when positioned close to a wall. Varying the angle next to a wall also affects the bass. I love how it reproduces vocals for both male and female. The voice is pushed forward and the singers' voices come out clear and not tiny compared to other speakers in this size category. It may not look pretty but the design is again meant for active and outdoor use. If there is a con I could mention is probably not having more battery life like the Fugoo XL. Otherwise, it's a great speaker to have with you when you venture out.

This is my second Xtreme. I bought a black one and now a blue one. I wanted to run them as a pair in stereo. I tried it out right away and it sounds incredible for a completely wireless system. I did this to use outdoors on the patio. A lot cheaper than hardwired outdoor speakers, sound great. And they offer the flexibility of being portable. JBL did a great job on these speakers!

This speaker had a great battery life. I have used it for 10 hours continuously and still read 1 light bar out of 5. The sound is good. At low to medium level the base is strong. At full it fades a bit but still sounds good. The shoulder strap it comes with makes it easy to carry around. It remembered 3 devices I have so I don't have to keep reconnecting. Overall it's a good Bluetooth for pool side, beach or BBQ. It's not going to rock a party outdoors but will fill indoor room nicely.

nice sound a little on the pricey side have used in park and at baseball practice team has enjoyed it. compared to other speakers best sound for the size

I’ve only had this JBL Extreme speaker for less than a week but love the sound, battery life and portability factor. I’ve only had Bose in the past and this speaker holds it’s own no doubt.

I was a bit skeptical before buying this speaker but then I decided to take a chance and buy it . The sound quality and the bass it produces is phenomenal. Indoor or outdoors its simply amazing. Best for pool parties as it is spalsh proof. It has amazing battery life and I need not charge it often. If you are looking for a good quality speaker which you can rely on then this is the best and I would definitely recommend this.

I was having Bluetooth connection issues with a Sony xb40, so I bought this JBL speaker. Blows away all the competition. Long battery life, great sound and fast connectivity.

I did some research before purchasing this product and I was not disappointed. I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker with clarity as well as bass. This bad boy has both and sounds amazing at high volumes. I pair it with my iPhone and use it when I’m taking a shower, running on the tread mill, and basically whenever I want portable awesome sound. The charge lasts a long time and it is water resistant. I love it!
