Bought a new computer to replace my years old Windows 10 PC. Great new DELL computer but it came with a black keyboard (the old one was white) making it hard to see the letters. So went on a quest to find a keyboard that is back-lit and makes the lettering shine. Also needed to keep the price down. Gaming keyboards were abundant but at a much higher price. Then I found this keyboard and bought it. It is great. The lettering is dark until I start to type, then they light up and makes it very easy to see them. The keys also have a clicking sound which is kinda neat. And wireless so no cable in the way. All in all a nice buy. Never heard of JLab so I approsched cautiously. Turned out to be a wise choice. Solidly built.

Great Full Size, PC/Mac Mechanical Keyboard

I've been using the JLab Epic Mechanical Advanced Multi-Device Wireless keyboard for about a week now, and for brand better known for their headphones, this is a very good full size PC/Mac Mechanical Keyboard. Good key travel, relatively quiet keys (not the loud thwack of some keyboards). The fact that you can switch between devices quickly is a huge plus.
In the box
- JLab Epic Mechnical Advanced Multi Device Keyboard (long name!)
- USB Charging Cable
- USB dongle (this is cool, I think it's the first I have owned)
Setup is easy(ish). Either plug in the dongle if you want to use 2.5Ghz) or hold the fast switch Bluetooth Pairing Button numbered 1 or 2 near the numeric keypad and you're away. The only catch, is if you're coming from Windows to Mac to Android (Android is supported) you need to press the Fn key (bottom right) and either Q for Mac, W for Android, or E for Windows or the keyboard will simply be detected as a standard ANSI keyboard. This is OK on Windows, but if you don't press the commands you won't get your proper opt and cmd key placements.
What's interesting and cool is while you don't need drivers or software, JLab have a JLab work app. This lets you customize things like backlight timeout, as well as the function keys and other hot keys. The app is clean, easy to use (no registration) and available on MacOS and Windows. You can also save multiple profiles, which is probably more useful gamers or designers who want to have custom key settings. It's a shame the JLab work app can't also be used to switch device mode, as this would make hot switching between a Mac/PC, which is how I live, a little easier.
Design wise, the JLab Epic has good weight, love that it has multiple height adjustments - either don't use, low profile, or elevated. The volume control knob is a nice touch and has satisfying notch clicks when you adjust the volume - again worked by default, no drivers or software needed.
In terms of battery life, I'm about a week in and haven't had to charge yet (using Bluetooth for what it's worth). I only use Bluetooth to connect and store the dongle in the USB C charging port, just so I don't lose it. The instructions do say you can pair multiple devices to the dongle, so may just go get myself a Jlab mouse to complete the setup (just checked, their mouse also supports 3 devices - I'm sold on JLab!).
Overall, Great Full Size PC/Mac Mechanical Keyboard. If the JLab work app smartly switched the keyboard between PC/Mac it would be perfect.
PS. I'm including a screenshot of the JLab Work app for those that are interested.

Affordable Mech Keyboard - Yet ignored by many!

Arrey bhai, if you’re looking for a premium wireless keyboard that can handle your multitasking like a true jugaad master, the JLab Epic Mechanical is a solid choice. This keyboard is all about convenience and style – low-profile mechanical switches that feel smooth and quiet, perfect for those long office hours or late-night coding marathons without disturbing the whole ghar.
Connectivity? Full paisa vasool! It easily switches between three devices – laptop, phone, tablet – via Bluetooth or USB dongle. So whether you’re replying to emails on your PC or chatting on WhatsApp Web, just press one button and done.
Design-wise, it’s sleek with illuminated keys for that classy vibe, and the media knob on the top-right is a total game-changer for volume and playback control. Battery life? Over one year on a single charge – no tension of charging every week.
Plus, the JLab Work App lets you customize shortcut keys and profiles, making it perfect for productivity ninjas. Downsides? Slightly pricey at around $129.99 (roughly ₹10,800), and no adjustable feet – but honestly, the comfort and features make up for it. And here’s the kicker: this is one of the most affordable mechanical keyboards in its category yet ignored by many who go for big brands. Pro tip – wait for festive offers or online sales, and you’ll get it at a steal!
Bottom line: If you want a stylish, multi-device mechanical keyboard with smart features and long battery life, this one is a hero

Great Keyboard with one small flaw

I was looking for a multi-device keyboard and was leaning towards Logitech when I came across this one in-store. This keyboard does exactly what I need but the 'snap' of the keys is what caused it to beat out the Logitech for me. I absolutely love typing on this keyboard. It does sit a bit high when the 'feet' are in use, so consider a wrist rest as well.
The one minor flaw: JLab rearranged/reassigned the 6 keys above the arrow keys that are usually Insert/Delete, Home/End, PgUp/PgDn. These keys are typically the same on virtually ALL other keyboards regardless of manufacturer. It's taking some time to get used JLab's setup, but the problem with this is that once you get used to the layout on THIS keyboard, you will have to unlearn it for literally any other keyboard you might use. IMHO, F1, F2, and F3 should have been the 'customizable keys' and the options they're using for these function keys can be programmed if needed. Not sure who is adjusting their screen brightness and accessing the Windows notifications panel so much that they need dedicated keys for it, but seems like that's a perfect example of what one would use 'customizable keys' for.

Good Work Keyboard without RBG!

I’ve been wanting a mechanical keyboard to use for work, but not one of the flashy noisy types that appeal to gamers. I mainly wanted one because they feel better to type on over the chiclet keyboards and tend to last longer overall. I wanted it to be wireless as I would use it primarily with my work laptop, and didn’t want any cords restricting the setup. When I found out that JLab had the Epic Mechanical Keyboard, I had to try it out as JLab makes some awesome tech at reasonable prices.
Pros:
- Smooth and Quiet.
- Multi-device support for up to 3 devices.
- Great backlight.
- Great battery life.
Cons:
- Plastic and Slippery feel.
- JLab software is very basic and unpolished.
- No wrist rest.
Setup:
The Epic Mechanical Keyboard is simple as they come, with only the keyboard, tiny dongle, and a charging cable included in the box. But that’s all you really need with this keyboard. One of my favorite parts about the Epic Mechanical keyboard is the Plug-&-Play of the keyboard, no software is needed to get started! I just plugged in the keyboard and was ready to go. The only thing missing is a wrist rest, which is not included with this keyboard.
Another small, but big impact feature was the kickstand feet on the back of the keyboard. There are 2 heights that allow you to adjust the angle of the keyboard to 3 angles. This makes typing much more comfortable, especially if you’re using the keyboard all day for work.
Software:
The JLab software is as basic as they come, unpolished but working and simple. It allows you to setup profiles, remap functions for the Function Keys plus 6 other keys above the Arrow keys, and adjust the backlight settings. Overall, it’s nice but very basic. Enough for what I want but could use work.
Feel & Sound:
Typing feels smooth, there is a distinct tactile feel, but it is not clicky like most gaming mechanical keyboards. The noise when typing is just slightly louder than a standard laptop keyboard. Though this does depend on how heavy handed you are when typing.
The biggest downside to the feel of the Epic Mechanical keyboard is the material for the keycaps and backplate, which leave a very plastic-y and cheap feel. The keycaps particularly are way too smooth for my liking, they are slippery to type on which leads to some mistyping. I’ll get used to it but would have preferred a slight texture to the keycaps or even the same material as the faceplate of the keyboard which give at least a metal like feel and texture.
Features:
The ability to connect multiple devices to the keyboard and switch to the device at the press of a button is very convenient, and easy to tell which one is active as the key flashes after being pressed. There are 3 keys: 1 for wireless dongle and 2 for Bluetooth. I didn’t notice any difference using either the dongle or Bluetooth, nor was there any issue switching between the modes.
Many of the default short cut keys, like the calculator, are what I’d want to bind somewhere on the keyboard normally. The default for F4, pops up the quick settings option in the left-side taskbar, which is often something I use when joining calls to adjust the sound output or pause any audio playing in the background before joining a call. It’s just a little thing but is nice to have. The volume dial is another that is fun and nice to have, making adjusting the volume just the turn of a dial.
The backlight is a must have for any work keyboard I get these days, as I often work at all hours of the day and night. Being able to see the keyboard in any lighting is a must. This is one backlight that is bright enough to clearly see each key.
The rechargeable battery is great to have, as much as having to recharge a device can be down time to using it, the keyboard charged to full in a few hours using a 65watt charger, though your results may vary based on the charger used. I cannot speak to the battery life yet, as supposedly a single charge will last over a year, but I’ll check in a year to see how well it did.
Conclusion:
The JLab Epic Mechanical Keyboard is an amazing wireless mechanical keyboard that isn’t too flashy or noise but provides a quiet & tactile feel to any typing work. The backlight is perfect, though the material feel is only so-so. It is a solid choice for any working professional, or anyone who doesn’t need RBG on everything. I’ll be adding it to my list of suggested mechanical keyboards as I’ve enjoyed typing on it at work, and it has checked all my boxes for what a work keyboard needs to have.

TLDR: Muted mechanical switches and very impressive battery life make for a good, no-frills keyboard
CONNECTIONS
Wired – Via the Included USB-C charging cable
Bluetooth 5.2
2.4GHz via the included USB-C dongle
USER EXPERIENCE
The JLAB Epic has everything you need in a mechanical keyboard without adding a bunch of fluff and frills to the equation, thereby cutting down on costs.
The mechanical switches are nicely muted compared to some full-on gaming keyboards that click and clack like freight trains. While I find those keyboards wildly satisfying to use, they are not really friendly for anyone but the user. Too loud for an office and even louder in a quiet home environment. The JLAB strikes an excellent balance of clack with only enough dampening to keep keystrokes from sounding dead and dull. I’m sure others will disagree, as everyone has their own preference on keys and dampening materials, but the JLAB is a very nice combination between the extremes. I like that. Too often manufacturers put so much sound deadening in their products, the mechanical key experience is ruined.
In line with the just enough, but not overboard, is the keyboard backlighting. There is no RGB backlighting or swanky OLED displays. Just plain and simple white backlit keys. With adjustable brightness levels and a very pleasing font on the keys, the backlighting is nearly perfect. Sophisticated with little under key light bleed that I despise.
Being a full-sized keyboard, button spacing is generous without feeling cramped. The added ten-key pad on the right side is a welcome addition and is not something I normally miss on my 75% keyboard, until I use a full-size board and then go back to the 75%. It takes me a while to get used to not having it, wishing that I did.
One thing that this JLAB excels at is battery life. JLAB claims up to a year of battery life with backlighting off. Even with backlit keys, JLAB estimates battery life at 19+ days. Outstanding. The battery life of this keyboard is FAR superior than my current 75% keyboard. You can watch the battery life countdown on my 75% keyboard. Not with the JLAB. Even with the backlighting on, I have had little battery drain. At this rate, I’m estimating the JLAB will last 5x longer than my best wireless keyboard that costs twice as much. Great work JLAB.
FINAL THOUGHTS
The Epic Mechanical keyboard isn’t flashy or obnoxious. It is a pleasant surprise to the mechanical keyboard market. Unassuming with everything the user needs in a device without being pretentious.
The JLAB Epic sparks a nice balance between an over-the-top, full-on gaming keyboard and a flimsy membrane-style keyboard, giving the user a great combination of typing experience and features without busting the bank.

Whether you're a work from home employee or a gamer, this is the keyboard for you! I LOVE how simple and complex it is. As a "tech head" and gamer this keyboard was worth every penny. I love that I can have it connected to up to 3 devices at once and the multi-media functions that it comes with. I have a fairly large desk at home and being able to adjust my work space with the wireless feature helps keep some of the clutter down. No need to buy anymore rechargeable batteries and the battery life is crazy good! I honestly think I have gone 3 1/2 good weeks without needing to charge it. I love the springiness of the buttons too and it's so smooth while I'm typing. I'm seriously not gassing this thing up more than I should because I really love it. Go ahead and buy yours NOOOOOW!!!!!

Depending on what you're looking for, keyboards can be costly. Some may find themselves paying over $300 for a decent mechanical keyboard. If you're hardcore competitive gamer, that price may be justifiable. For the average person however, ehhh...that might be a little too pricey. For those looking for a decent prices solid mechanical keyboard, the JLab - Epic Mechanical Advanced Multi-device Wireless Keyboard comes through...to an extent.
To start, connecting this keyboard is easy. Plug in the dongle, and you're good to go. Thinking of going wired to avoid dealing with battery life? That's a no go. This wireless keyboard is kind of stubborn when it comes to using it's USB C cord. Connecting to a computer will charge the laptop, but no go on wired connection. This keyboard also connects via Bluetooth, however, the Jlab app does not recognize the keyboard without the wireless dongle. Connecting via Bluetooth even with the dongle connected will remove the keyboard from the app.
When it comes to the app...it's limited. The app allows you to adjust the brightness and determine how long the keyboard's backlight stays on. You can tweak the function of the function keys with three different profiles...that's it. No other lighting colors,. At 100% the keyboard is relatively bright, not as bright as my other keyboards.
As for actual keyboard work...this distance on these keys, the feel of pushing the keys...perfection. It feels good. I can type faster on this keyboard than I can on my regular keyboard. The distance on the keys feels perfect. The press of the keys feels good as well. From a keyboard perspective without the extra features, this is a good keyboard. However, even outside of the extra features, there is one major issue I have with this keyboard.
The battery life on this keyboard seems fine, but you can't tell on a regular basis. This keyboard doesn't give you an indication of it's battery life unless it's plugged up. There is a battery indicator light, but unless it's plugged up, it doesn't light. The app doesn't indicate battery percentage. Considering this keyboard is wireless only, that's kind of a big deal.
Overall, from a strictly keyboard perspective...this is a great keyboard. Still, keyboards come with so much more bang for your buck, this keyboard is kind of lacking. Add on that the battery indicator light doesn't light without it being plugged up, which, prevents it from being used, and what is a solid keyboard for keyboard sake falls just a little short.

Better for typing than most mechanical keyboards I tried. The keys have about the right kind of sensitivity so you don’t get a lot of erroneous characters as you type. Probably not sensitive enough for gamers. The keyboard backlighting is only in white light no colors or changing patterns or colors of light. I wish it came with an attached wrist pad. I’m having difficulties finding one that fits well. Most are too high. Ability to connect to 3 devices is a plus.

I was surprised to see that keyboards have mostly gone wireless and was concerned there would be connectivity issues since nearly everything wireless tends to have it's moments. And it was pricey too. But I needed a keyboard fast so I bought it and have been very pleased with it. The key action is solid and positive, no double-taps. The charge lasts a long time, I forgot to turn it off for 2 weeks on vacation and it was still working when i got back. No wireless drop outs.

Excellent keyboard! My main work is designing, and it works great with the program that I currently use. Feels great to the touch! I even enjoy the sound that it makes when pressing the keys. It was definitely a bit pricier than what I wanted to spend, but after using it for a few weeks, it was well worth the money. Best keyboard that I've used thus far!

This is a pretty good wireless mechanical keyboard that is absolutely betrayed by terrible software. I went into Best Buy intending to buy the Logitech MX wireless mechanical keyboard, but I saw this on the shelf for a little less and decided to take a chance. The keyboard itself is pretty good. I'm not an expert on mechanical keyboards by any means, so as far as the type of switches it has is beyond me. It felt good to type on, and was moderately clicky without being annoying. Connectivity was fine. The keyboard, taken solely as a piece of hardware, was fine. Nothing special, but it did the job.
Where the whole enterprise failed dramatically and the reason I returned it after just a few days was the software. Many of the basic functions you'd expect from any wireless keyboard, let alone a premium priced wireless mechanical keyboard, either didn't exist or were so cumbersome to set up/use they weren't worth the effort. I suppose if all you care about is basic keyboard functionality, it would be tolerable, but even that is not a certainty. It not only put me off of this keyboard, but all J-Lab products.

So much happier with this than Logiteks whose keyboard letters wear off fast. Has a better feel, I mistype less; and it is bluetooth to TWO PC's at the push of 2 keys upper right corner. I have 2 and type fast. Takes abt 3 seconds to switch fm 1 PC to the other bluetoothed device. Doesnt come w/ a mouse.
After a string of Logiteks, all w faded lettering, I am not going back. I only wish the F and J keys had a bigger bump to allign my fingers to it.
