Convenient Charging Case and Fairly Comfortable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These JLab Flex earbuds are a good design, not hard to clip on to your ears. Because there is no pressure from them *behind* your ears, I found wearing them for an hour or so at a time pretty easy to deal with. They charged up quickly and paired easily with two phones (though the app on one phone seemed to want to add another pair of them, I chose "cancel" and all was well. These earbuds don't come with various size silicone covers for the speaker end, they are designed for a "one size fits all" theory. My problem is--my ears are large--so once they are clipped onto the outer edge of your year--there wasn't a lot of "reach" for the speakers to land firmly inside the end of my ear canal, resulting in a loss of bass. And the bass with these is decent--I could adjust the fit to get them to fit a little better and the improvement in the bass was good. Overall, the sound quality of these is pretty good, especially when considering the price point. They sound as good or better than most of the budget-priced earbuds I have tested.

JBL flex
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. The large side sits on tge back of the ear. After a whike, it made my ear hurt. It stayed put but i took them off to give my sore ears a rest. Not for everyone. The soung was tinny- if you turned them up it was a poor sound quality.

Great ear buds for certain situations.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always been a big fan of the Jlab earbuds. I think they make some of the best sounding earbuds that punch way above what they cost. These ones are a little bit different though, instead of going in your ear, they clip to the outside. Out of the box, its pretty much what you get with most of the Jalb earbuds. You get a small case with a battery that will also charge the buds when you aren’t wearing them giving you lots of play time on a single charge. You also get a charging cable and that’s about it. No need for any extra ear tips or anything since these don’t actually go in your ear canal. I have to say at first, I didn’t love the fit of these. They definitely take a little trial and error for you to figure out the most comfortable position for your ears. I found the best way to start is to kind of pull the side of your ear out with one hand and then slide the earbud over it pretty much parallel to where your ear canal is. From there you can kind of slide it up and down a little bit till you find the most comfortable position. At first they did feel a little tight, but after wearing them for about a half hour I barely noticed they were there anymore. I wore them for a full 8 hours and didn’t have any discomfort at all. As far as sound quality goes, they are definitely not going to give you the same sound quality as a normal earbud because of the open design. You don’t get a seal in your ear canal so the air that the drivers are pushing doesn’t stay all in your ear. You get the benefit of being able to easily hear your surroundings, but you definitely lose a little sound quality. I found that if you love to listen to podcasts or audio books these things are amazing for that. As far as music goes, they are definitely listenable, but just know they wont sound as good as your typical earbud. You won’t get the punchy bass and crisp highs. It will just kind of sound like a radio in a room with all the ambient noise. While I probably won’t be using these as my daily earbuds, they definitely have their niche and their purpose that they are best suited for. You can also use these for taking calls as well. I found them pretty easy to hear in quieter environments, but if you are in a loud space, it might be harder to hear who you are talking to. The microphone worked pretty well. People I were talking to said that they were able to hear me clearly, again, in a fairly quiet environment. Overall, for what these are, they are a very solid and comfortable earbud. I would definitely give them a try if you listen to a lot of spoken word, or need to hear the environment around you, or find it hard to wear traditional earbuds hue to comfort or irritation. These might be the solution you have been looking for!

Finally - an earbud that stays in my ear!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These JLab Flex earbuds are fantastic. They came fully charged in the case which was convenient. They paired quickly with both my phone and my laptop without any problems. At first they were a little cumbersome or confusing to put on my ear because all my other earbuds just go inside the ear (hence they fall out easily). Once I figured out how to "clip" them on with the speaker on the inside and the controls on the outside - it became very easy to to just grab them and clip them on anytime. The controls work well once you figure out which side does what (it comes with an easy to read card that shows the functions of each). The touch controls are very responsive. The sound quality is as good as any other ear bud I have. I did find I had to turn up the volume a little more than usual, simply because the speaker is not pressed inside the ear compared to most. I like this however - it makes the earbuds extremely comfortable for long term use. The best feature by far is the clip on style. This is the first set of earbuds that stays in both ears, no matter how much I most, until I take them out. My left ear is misshapen and more other buds fall out too easily - but these stay in and are comfortable!

Comfortable Clip Style Earbuds Deliver Full Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After seeing several earbud manufacturers adopt this open clip design. I was excited to try this style out. Since I've had great luck with JLAB, I decided to give it a try and why not, it's one of the most affordable sets on the market. The packaging is pretty simple, but I was surprised that once I cut the tape/seal holding it together the inner box still needed some force to pull it out. Inside the box you get the earbuds in its case with a pull tab that protects the battery contacts. There is also a short USB-C to USB-C cable, Quick Start Guide and regulatory information. While some may knock the short USB-C to USB-C cable, I've actually been looking for one to charge my phone in my car. The shorter the cable, the less chance I have to pick up and read my phone while driving. Thanks for the unintended assist with that JLAB! There are a lot of earbuds that use silicone ear tips to help block out some of the ambient noise. I don't like them. Whenever I'm listening to earbuds with them on, I feel like I'm listening to things underwater. This means I've been eagerly anticipating this style of earbuds. These earbuds sit just outside your ear canal and loop around your ear just above the ear lobe. While I had some initial reservations that I would be hearing too much ambient noise, I'm pleased with the design of these JLAB Flex earbuds. They have a speaker that is designed to fire sound directly into the ear canal. This simultaneously gives me full sound while keeping my ears open for my general comfort. Pairing these to my phone was a painless process. Bluetooth pairing was quick and easy. They also have something called Google Fast Pair for Android phones which register these earbuds to your email account and provide easier connections. Clipping these to my ear was a little awkward at first, I saw some tips to start at the top of your ear and slide them down, but after a few tries I could catch the speaker part on the inside of my outer ear and stretch the loop around to the back of my ear in a quick motion. With this clip design, I don't have any problems with the JLAB Flex staying in place while I move around. I really like True Wireless earbuds. I used to be disappointed in some of my early earbuds because one of the earbuds was designated the master while the other one was the slave. That typically meant that the right earbud would always be in use and the left earbud was only available for stereo support. It couldn't be used by itself. These JLAB Flex can be used independently. Each of the earbuds can deliver 8 hours of playtime, and the case can provide two full charges giving you more than 24 hours of playtime. I was a little disappointed that the case is not wireless charging capable. The JLAB app gives you options to change the sound profile. There is the JLAB signature and Balanced presets, and then the option to fully customize the equalizer. It also allows you to set the touch controls, change between music and movie mode, set safe hearing levels, and finally check for firmware updates. Moving on to the sound. I really enjoy the out of the box JLAB Signature sound profile. It's well balanced to my own preferences. The sound is full and gives me just enough ambient noise to know what's going on. If I turn up the volume just slightly, it easily drowns out all outside noises. While walking around outside with an occasional breeze the microphone picked up my voice just fine. The person at the other end and I could hold a clear conversation as if I were indoors using my phone. These JLAB Flex are very comfortable and deliver great sound. They're becoming my first pick earbuds for day to day use.

Great and comfortable budget buds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Some people (including me) really don’t like traditional earbuds much. First of all, they generally don’t stay in. And when they do stay in, they make my ear canals itchy and uncomfortable after a while. So what do you do in this case? Previously, your best option was to get a set of bone-conduction headphones. These work well, but they are a bit expensive, and don’t easily fit in your pocket when you are not using them. But another option is the “clip-on earbuds” such as this one! OK, these don’t go IN your ears, but instead clip around the pinna (the part of your ear that sticks out), and because of this, they won’t cause discomfort in your ear canals. But this design itself does have some compromises. Since it doesn’t seal, it cannot block noise, so noise canceling is not even an option. Whether this is good or bad depends upon the situation. If you are on a busy street, being able to hear traffic and horns could keep you safe. In an office environment, this will allow you to hear if a coworker tries to speak to you. On the other hand, these would be useless in an aircraft or any noisy environment. But the big disadvantage when compared to bone conduction options is that others nearby might be able to hear what you are listening to, and in a silent space, such as a library, the sound might be loud enough to disturb others. But given those technical limitations, how does this particular model do? First, I must admit that this is my first pair of clip-on earbuds, so I don’t have a reference frame for how other companies perform, but I must admit that I very much like these. I find the sound quality to be more than acceptable, and for those with more discerning tastes, the JLab app opens up the 10-band equalizer which will allow the sound to be sculpted to match your preferences. The semi-circular arm between the lobes of each bud is rounded and made from a relatively soft rubber, which increases comfort. My only complaint is that I wish that the arm were just a bit longer to accommodate my large ears, but for people with average to smaller sized ears, this should not be a problem. When I first got them, I was not sure how to tell the left side from the right side. However, they will only go into the case one way, so that makes it easy. If you try to put the left bud in the right side, the magnets repel, cluing you into the fact that you have it backwards. Later on, I noticed the large “L” and “R” stamped into the plastic that faces the outside of your ear, so that mystery was solved. One noticeable lack is that the case does not have wireless charging, as it only uses USB-C. But since Bose Ultra Open Earbuds cost many times more and it doesn’t even have wireless charging, I think that we can give the JLab model a pass for this. So, to summarize, these are comfortable for most people, sound great, and are affordable.

New Clip-on Design Very Comfortable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave the JLab Flex earbuds a lot of use right after I got them as they came fully charged (blue light on solid). The first thing I noticed was the 'over 20 hours of play time' - great. The case has a solid feel and the design includes a blue indicator on the case to tell you of the charging status. When you tuck the buds into the case they snap into place with a firm magnetic click. I noticed the case and buds have a 2 year warranty. Also the case has a reset button in case you have trouble with connectivity which I did not. These buds paired easily with my cell phone as well as my laptop. You do have all the normal controls for audio and cell phone calls and these control actions worked smoothly. You'll get a very short USB Type-C charging cable which I did wish was a bit longer so I could more easily reach my charging port in the car. The sound is okay but can be improved using the JLab cell phone app. I was able to tune the sound much better using the 'Custom' settings on the app's equalizer. The biggest difference between these buds and other earbuds is the 'open clip' design. You put the earbuds around your ear. Be sure the larger part is against the back of your ear and the smaller part with the speaker is inside your ear. I did have trouble at first making sure I put them on properly, but after a few times, I was able to easily cip them up. It turned out this design is much more comfortable for me. My ears sometimes get a little sore when I used other buds for a long time with them 'stuck' into my ear. This new design is a great upgrade for me - tip of the cap to the design engineers at JLab. I would highly recommend these unique earbuds.

Sound good, don't feel quite so good.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll say right out of the gate, these were not comfortable on my ears - I could only handle them for roughly 10 minutes at a time then the discomfort set in. Of course, your mileage may vary! The pricing on them was very reasonable compared to many "earbuds" out there. The uniqueness of these though is that they don't go "IN" your ear, rather, the clip onto the ear. This leaves the ability to hear everything around you so you don't lose situational awareness while walking, hiking, at the office, etc where you need to hear without blanking everything around you out. Sound reproduction wasn't bad at all, especially considering the price point. I've had a number of JLab earbuds in the past, so if these are anything like them I can see them lasting a good while. I've personally been using them while going on multi-mile hikes in the Florida afternoon heat and they haven't fallen victim to me sweating. Also, there are selectable sound profiles from the app, however, in my experience this seems to also impact sound going to my car stereo via Android Auto, which then tends to over-drive my car's speakers. Again, your mileage may vary based on the speakers/sound system in your vehicle. Giving 3 stars overall because of the discomfort, which while giving great sound I can only wear them for a limited time before they start to hurt.

Good sound. Got to get used to it.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This brand provides good quality, sound and comfort for every set of headphones they provide and this is no exception. With technology shifting over to the open ear concept, these headphones have a good design that makes it unique from others. This set clips onto your ears but in my opinion, it's more of pinch and that gives it an uncomfortable feeling after a little time. I would not be satisfied jogging with these on. The battery lasts a very long time, almost 20 hours, and the charge time is crazy just under 2 hours on a dead battery. Bluetooth connection and sound quality is surprisingly strong. I could hear the music quite clearly in my walk with a busy street next to me. There is a button on the headphones that control noise cancelling and hear-through options. This programmable button can also make and answer phone calls with the built microphone. For what they can do, these headphones don't wow me. It's just a new design that I've never seen. If you don't mind a slight pinch, you can test these out.

Fantastic Quality Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As soon as I opened the package, I took out the earbuds and saw on the case that it was lit blue and had a full charge. When I placed one on my ear, my cellphone immediately started searching for the earbuds to my surprise. This might be because I have other JLab products. The earbuds paired quickly and easily. No problems at all. This is one of the fastest setups that I have seen with earbuds that I have tried in the past. In addition the quality of the sound is great. Made several phone calls and listened to videos online. Walked with them as well, and they clung to my ears comfortably. Sometimes earbuds will fall out on me because of the unique size of my ear. However, these stayed on. That for me was a huge plus. I definitely will be wearing these a lot. I do a lot of outreaches and events in my line of work. So these are going to be perfect when communicating with key people during the events. I have absolutely no complaints or concerns at this time. PROs: Quick setup Paired wonderfully Stayed on my ear comfortably Walked around with no issues Everyone could hear me clearly. CONS: None at this time. A plus in my book. Thank you for letting me try these out. Going to recommend to family and friends.
