This is a lovely pair of headphones that offer a lot of bang for your buck. There's some aspects that I think could have used a little more polish, but overall, these are excellent, especially considering the price tag. Audio Quality: To be frank, I'm not a massive audio quality buff. I COULD tell you whether or not the bass is too quiet or loud, if the treble sounds shrilly, if the mids get washed away. I COULDN'T tell you about the sound stage, or the integrity of the audio, or anything like that. But, with that being said, these sound excellent, to my ear. The sound is crisp and clear - nothing gets muddied out, and the bass, mids, and treble are in good balance. If I'm listening to DnB, the percussion and the bass stand out, as they should. If I'm listening to orchestral music, the different instruments are identifiable and don't stick out noticeably. Genuinely, the audio is fantastic, and I'd recommend them for the price based on this alone. Battery: I've listened to music on these for a couple hours a day for several days in a row, and only now do I have to charge them. Fantastic battery on them. Comfort: This is where things are a little lackluster, honestly. They're a lot like Beats Solo headphones, if you've ever worn them. They're tight, and if you have a big head like I do, it means it'll press your ears pretty hard. I don't notice until I've worn them for over an hour, but even so, it's something to note. I can't say whether they'll break in and get a little looser over time, but I sure hope they do, because they really are a little uncomfortable. That aside, they are light, and the earcups are pretty soft. If they weren't so tight, I think they would be very comfortable. Noise Cancellation: I think it's best to temper one's expectations for these. They're not in-ear, and they're not over-ear, they're on-ear. There's only so much sound that can be blocked out. They have an active noise cancellation mode, and it works, but not as well as those of over-ear or in-ear headphones. It will block out something like a fan, or air conditioner, but only partially - you'll still know they're running. But it makes it less distracting. You can also turn noise cancellation off, or put them on "Be Aware" mode, where it will play nearby sounds louder. Great for certain situations, like out walking, or if someone might need to get your attention. Button Layout: Simple, intuitive. Sensible. Once you've read the button layout in the quick start guide, you don't need to worry about forgetting how to use certain features, because they just make sense. I mention this in particular because it's always something I worry about or struggle with, and these surprised me in a good way! Overall, I think these are great headphones. For the price, they're hard to beat, on the fronts of audio, features, battery life. I'd take these over Beats or AirPods Pro any day of the week. Highly recommended.

I would consider myself to be a collector of headphones and earbuds. I keep some a pair in my vehicles, in my backpack, briefcase and a couple of pair in my office at work. I have some that I use for travel and some that I use while doing yardwork or at the gym. Each serves a different purpose. For some, i prefer good noise cancellation, while being lightweight. For others, i prefer to have a good balance between awareness and battery life. The one thing that I always prefer is good audio quality and comfort. Audio quality is of course subjective. For example, depending on the type of music i'm listening to, I might want to have deep base and mids. That is usually hip-hop or R&B. For jazz and mood music, mids and highs are essential to me. These headphones provide a good balance between comfort, noise cancelling and battery life. I didnt quite get 70 hours of battery life, but it was more than enough to get me through an entire day at my office. Sound quality was better than i expected at this price point and the fact that it has multipoint capability was great. Being able to connect to my personal and work cell phones was a great benefit to me. These are very comfortable to wear for extended use and honestly better than some of my more expensive options. Noise cancelling was good, not excellent, but since I was in my home office, it wasnt really a problem. If you download the app, you can customize your audio preferences. Overall, I really like these and unless one of my son's decides to "borrow" them, they will be part of my rotation.

Build quality on this headset is nice. It feels like a mostly plastic which should be pretty resistant to drops (though I did not test it). The headband and the hinges in the folding mechanism feel strong and durable. Speaking of the folding mechanism, the headphones do fold into a smaller form factor which is much appreciated when traveling with them. The fit of the headphones is adjustable and I was able to get a comfortable fit for my large head. The earcups are comfortable. The pads feel like a fake leather. The foam is cushy and comfortable. I would say there is fatigue after wearing them for a couple of hours, but I find that to be the case with all on-ear headphones. Battery life is up to 40 hours with ANC and that’s more than sufficient for my use case. Audio quality is good. Default settings with the equalizer give it sound good for a variety of uses. It didn’t feel heavy on the bass response and it didn’t sound flat which are two of my preferences. Luckily, the JLab app allows you to adjust the equalizer settings in case this sound profile doesn’t sound appealing to you. On top of audio quality, the noise cancellation operates in lockstep with it. There’s a bit of “natural” noise cancellation with the pads, but there is also active noise cancellation. The noise cancellation works great. It definitely improves the sound quality. It does not give me the “plugged ears” feeling that some ANC gives me. Likewise, the call quality is overall good. The noise cancellation really helps with the call quality. Worth also noting there’s a “be aware” mode that also allows you to hear your surroundings which is not something I regularly use but could be a feature someone is looking for. Last thing worth noting, JLab app support is included with this purchase and it offers a number of features worth noting. First, you get ability to control the headphones like turning on ANC/be aware mode, you have the ability to adjust the EQ and other settings. You can also use it to update firmware. Overall, considering the price of these headphones, these are a great value purchase with good sound quality, noise cancellation, and a number of modern features.

Okay, let's talk about the JLab Epic Lux Lab Edition headphones. Full disclosure, I stumbled upon these mainly because I needed a backup pair for the gym, just in case my go-to headphones decided to play hide-and-seek. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. JLab wasn't a brand I'd heard much about, so there was definitely some hesitation. But hey, I figured, why not give them a shot?My usual headphones are the big, over-the-ear kind, and these JLab ones don't quite envelop your ears in the same way. That was my initial hang-up, and I fully expected it to be a deal-breaker. But man, was I in for a surprise once I actually started listening! My Personal Dive into the JLab Epic Lux Lab EditionFrom the moment I pressed play, these headphones blew me away. Seriously, they sound every bit as good as my fancy $350 set. I was genuinely shocked. Now, here's where I almost made a huge mistake. The bass, right out of the box, felt… well, pretty much nonexistent. I was ready to knock off a star, ready to write them off. And then it hit me: the app! How could I forget about the app? That's where the magic happens.I quickly downloaded the JLab app (a must, trust me). After playing around with the equalizer (EQ) settings a few times, tweaking and testing, I finally got the sound dialed in exactly how I like it. And that's when these headphones truly shined.Aside from them not completely covering my ears like my usual ones, I was genuinely impressed. For the price, these are seriously good headphones. I'd even go so far as to say they stand shoulder-to-shoulder with some headphones that cost a good chunk more. That initial unfamiliarity with the brand quickly faded once I experienced the sound quality. My older, more expensive headphones might have a slight edge in overall ear comfort (just that personal preference for a full over-ear seal), but for their price point, these JLab Epic Lux Lab Edition headphones get a definite A+.What Makes Them Tick (Features & Benefits)Whether you're looking at the earbuds or the over-ear headphones in this Lab Edition series, JLab has really packed in some solid tech:Awesome Sound Quality: This is where they really deliver. They support Hi-Res Audio with codecs like LDAC, meaning your music sounds crisp, clear, and vibrant across all frequencies. Expect a wide soundstage and plenty of detail.Silence the World: The Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is no joke. Especially on the over-ear model, it does a fantastic job of cutting out background noise, making your commute or noisy office feel a lot calmer. The earbuds have Smart ANC too, which is also quite effective.Your Sound, Your Way: The JLab App is your secret weapon. It lets you fine-tune the EQ to your exact preference (think deep bass, balanced, or crystal-clear treble), customize the touch controls, and manage your ANC or "Be Aware" modes.Crystal-Clear Calls: Thanks to multiple beamforming microphones and JLab's noise-canceling tech, your calls come through loud and clear, even when you're out and about.Battery Life for Days: This is a huge win. The over-ear headphones boast up to 60 hours with ANC on, and a whopping 90 hours with ANC off! Even the earbuds offer seriously competitive playtime.Seamless Switching: With Bluetooth Multipoint, you can stay connected to two devices at once, like your phone and laptop, and switch between them effortlessly.Charging Made Easy: Both versions support wireless charging, which is super convenient. The over-ear headphones even come with a cool magnetic charging pad.Comfy for the Long Haul: JLab clearly put thought into comfort. The "Cloud Foam" earcups and padded headbands on the over-ear model make them comfortable enough for marathon listening sessions.A Closer Look at the Over-Ear Headphones (Epic Lux Lab Edition)These bad boys bring extra goodies to the table:Spatial Audio: They've got JLab's Lab Spatial Audio with head-tracking for a more immersive, 360-degree sound experience.Share the Tunes: The unique LabShare Mode lets you directly share your audio with another pair of Lux headphones. Pretty neat for a shared listening experience.Portable (Mostly): While some reviews vary, JLab claims a foldable design for easier packing, which is a plus for travelers.A Few Things to Keep in Mind (Potential Drawbacks)No product is perfect, and these have a few minor quirks:Initial Sound (Over-Ear): As I mentioned, the sound was a bit "off" before using the app's EQ. Early versions apparently had some inconsistencies, but firmware updates seem to have fixed this. Just remember to download that app!Earbud ANC: The earbuds' noise canceling is good, but maybe not quite "top-tier amazing" compared to some ultra-premium options.Case Scratches (Earbuds): A small point, but the earbud case can show scratches a bit easily.Earbud Fumbling: Some folks found the earbuds a little slippery when taking them out of the case.Spatial Audio (Take it or Leave it): The spatial audio feature might feel a bit like a gimmick to some, rather than a game-changer.Auto-Pause Sensitivity (Over-Ear): The wear detection that auto-pauses music can sometimes be a little too sensitive, pausing playback with minor movements. You can usually disable this in the app if it bothers you.Not Always Foldable (Over-Ear): Despite what JLab says, some reviews contradict the foldable design, so if compact travel is key, double-check specific models.Plastic Feel (Over-Ear): They look premium, but you might notice they're primarily plastic, even if they feel durable. The Verdict: Are They Worth It?The JLab Epic Lux Lab Edition, whether you're eyeing the earbuds or the over-ear headphones, truly delivers. JLab is making a strong play in the premium audio space by offering a ton of features and great sound quality without the eye-watering price tag of some competitors. Any initial hiccups with sound quality seem to be easily remedied by diving into the app's EQ settings. If you're after high-fidelity audio, effective noise cancellation, and battery life that just keeps going, all wrapped up in a comfy and stylish package that won't break the bank, then yes, these are absolutely worth checking out. JLab has shown they can hang with the big names when it comes to value and performance.Final RecommendationSo, if you're reading this review to see if I would recommend these? The answer is a resounding 150% yes! Based on my experience, the JLab Epic Lux Lab Edition over-ear headphones offer remarkable sound quality and features that completely defy their price point. They're an excellent choice for anyone who wants high-performing audio without emptying their wallet.
