For The Money, Good Not Great

I feel like every review of these headphones will start with “for the money, these headphones are great.” Well, I’ll put a slightly different spin on things with “for the money, these headphones are good.” I can recommend them for the audio quality while listening to music during a workout. They are comfortable and sound much better than wireless bud headphones priced much higher, but they still have a few quirks and are far from perfect. If you can live with those quirks for the price, then you’ll probably enjoy these headphones quite a lot. Set up was quite easy and I really like the travel case with its built-in charging cable. The indicator lights are bright, and I believe JLAB when they say these headphones will last around 40 hours. So far, battery life has been great. I like the sound on these headphones, but wireless buds have always had an airy / tinny sound to them, and these, while better than others, still suffer a bit in that regard. The sound is richer, and the bass is much more pronounced than similar earbuds from JVC and I’d even argue apple’s air pods. But they aren’t going to sound as good as a pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones that share a wired connection to each other. Instead of buttons that you can feel click, these earbuds have “touch sensors”. Both the left and right earbud have these built in sensors and tapping / holding the sensors enables and disables various functions. For example, pressing the left touch sensor once turns down the volume, pressing it twice enables SIRI, pressing and holding the left sensor for one second plus causes the track to go back, pressing the right sensor three times enables or disables be aware mode. If that sounds confusing to you, it is very confusing and non-functional in my experience. Instead of changing my aware mode, I find myself turning the volume up or pausing my music. It seems like my presses aren't always registering and it has been incredibly frustrating using the touch sensors for anything other than playing / pausing, turning the volume up, or taking a call. So far, I haven't had problems with the headphones disconnecting from the phone, but I noticed when watching some YouTube videos, that my left headphone would occasionally get out of sync with the right one. It created a bit of an echo effect, but it only happened once or twice through hours of testing. Phone calls were a bit… disappointing. People on the other end of the call told me I sounded like I was in a tunnel. I found the headphones, instead of just playing the sound evenly from both earbuds, wanted to transfer the caller from right to left earbud and vice versa. It was a bit distracting and occasionally the call would cut out as the headphones seemed to re-calibrate the audio. It wasn’t an awful experience, but it wasn’t good, either. There is an app to burn-in your headphones and loosen the speaker diaphragms. It’s completely optional, but you should know that the sound quality of your headphones will likely improve the longer you use them. In conclusion, as sweat resistant work-out headphones, I think these are pretty good headphones. For the price, they perform very well. I’m not sure I will ever get used to the touch sensor buttons and I won’t be using these buds for phone calls any time soon, but still, for the money, the audio is quite good.

    Great sound, secure fit

JLAB's new JBuds Air Sport true wireless headphones have both a comfortable fit and the ability to hear sounds around you. -= Design and Fit =- The ear hooks on the JBuds Air Sport provide a very secure fit compared to other truly wireless earbuds that simply sit in your ear. The soft ear hooks fit comfortably around my ears and stayed in place during workouts and running. I do find that the sweatier I get, the "seal" into my ear canal can work loose and I lose some of the bass, but the ear hooks keeps the earbuds from falling completely off of my ear. So if you're purchasing these for working out, you shouldn't be disappointed, but please note that this "seal" also creates an underwater-like effect, meaning I can hear every footstep vibration amplified when these earbuds are in. The "buttons" on these earbuds are really just touch sensors. They can be activated inadvertently while adjusting the earbuds, but they generally work well for playing and pausing music, as well as rewinding and skipping tracks. -= Sound Quality =- The sound quality is very good on these earbuds. When seated properly in your ear, the JBuds earbuds have a very good bass output and mids and highs also sound very balanced. The sound quality is not quite up there with Apple AirPods, but at half the price, the JBuds Air Sport earbuds have more than acceptable sound quality. The JBuds Air Sport headphones also have 3 music EQ settings that, thankfully, do not require a separate app in order to activate. The three available settings are: JLab Signature (my preference as it also enhances the bass) Balanced Bass Boost -= Features =- Be Aware Audio One feature I was very much lucking forward to was the Be Aware Audio. This can be activated by tapping the right earbud 3 times (unfortunately, there's no voice prompt to let you know if the feature is on or off). When activated, the headphones use the mics on the earbuds to let you hear what is going on around you. Normally, the headphones will muffle outside noises as the tips "seal out" your ear canal. Unfortunately, I found this feature can be disorienting. Since the mics are amplifying the sounds around you, they can sound louder than they really are and you can't tell from which direction the noise is coming. This felt very confusing to me and, when running outside, I still prefer the Apple AirPods since they don't muffle outside noises and you can naturally hear what's going on. Talking with the Be Aware Audio feature on would amplify my voice back to me and make it sound robotic, which was very distracting when trying to talk to someone. IP66 Sweat Resistance The JBuds Air Sport headphones have an IP66 water resistance rating, meaning that sweat and splashes are OK, but these should not be submerged in water (for example, don't wear them while in the pool). You must dry the earbuds before returning them to the charging case. -= Connection =- The connection between the left and right headphone seems to do fairly well. Indoors, I don't really experience a lot of issues with the sound cutting out between the two headphones unless I'm near a router or other interference. Outdoors, the sound cutouts are slightly more frequent, especially if I wear my phone on the left side of my body (it pairs with the right earbud). Overall, I'm very pleased with the connection stability. It's important to note that the right earbud is the master, so if you want to use only one earbud, it must be the right one. The left earbud cannot be used independently. -= Battery Life and Charging =- On a full charge, the JBuds Air Sport headphones last up to 6 hours and the charging case can recharge the earbuds about 4-5 additional times, so you could get up to 34 hours of usage when the case and earbuds are fully charged. In a pinch, charging the earbuds for 15 minutes will give you up to an hour of playback time. It's important to line up the charging pins properly when returning the earbuds to the case or they may not make a solid connection. There is a magnet in the case that helps "pull" the headphones into the correct spot, but you'll want to verify that the blue charging indicators light up on each headphone. The earbuds and charging case are somewhat bulky, especially when compared to the Apple AirPods. They definitely don't fit in my jean's pockets. I was surprised to find that the charging case has a built-in USB cable, which is very convenient as you don't need to remember to bring along your own cable.

Ok... I LOVE these. Never have I tried earbuds that were so comfortable, so easy to set up and sounded so good! I have been trying different types of earbuds for some time in search of those that would be comfortable and would stay in my ears. Finally - I found them - JBuds Air Sport are amazing!! I opened the box and the earbuds were in their hard shell charging case. Beautiful. Already partially charged, I put them on. Put a bud in each ear, slipped the wing over my ear and turned it. They went perfectly into place... Oh so comfortable. Then amazingly it started setting itself up without my doing anything... When it said it was ready to pair, I grabbed my iPhone and paired it - just that easy.. Setup done! I opened a playlist and the sound was clear and crisp in my ears. There are 3 EQ settings, I liked the base. The settings are done with little taps to the sensors on each earbud. You don't have to always press... just tap... Once, twice, etc... Depending on what you want to do. Tapping is nice so I'm not having to shove them in my ear canal as I do with some earbuds. There is a little guide that shows you what the taps do. It is a small learning curve but not difficult. You can connect to your phone's assistant - Google or Siri quite easily and she heard me and I heard her. Cool feature. You can tell the assistant to place calls for you or ask it whatever you want. You can answer calls and the caller hears you and I clearly heard them. The charging cord for these is amazing. You don't need a separate cord... The cord is built in! And it's a simple usb... Just plug it in! It is short but you won't lose it and it's simple. Brilliant! I cannot speak highly enough about these JBuds earbuds. I highly recommend these for anyone who wants a comfortable secure great sounding truly wireless earbud

I got these for running and walking the dog. So far they work out really well to not fall out even after longer runs or while lifting weights. I use them about 5 hours a week and then charge them on the weekend. Both buds easily last the entire week between charges. I think I can go up to two weeks with my usage. The voice calling quality is ok while I run, and decent inside while working out. I like the google assistant capabilities that I've used each time I've ran and the equalizer is pretty good. The touch buttons could be better since it sometimes takes multiple times to get the function working that I want. The reasons why I'm giving them 4 stars is because the bass is lacking and the fit is not snug enough for my liking. I mostly listen to rap and electronica during my workouts and wish the buds were more punchy. I should have listened to the other reviews because I thought the headphones wouldn't be that bad but it's lower than I want. And the fit could be better for my size because when I run I have excessive wind blowing into the ear piece. It's not disruptive while I have the sound up until I'm running upwind and its over the music. These are not deal breakers but I would have been glad to have paid more if I could alievate these issue. For the discounted value they work very well and you would be good purchases for you. But if bass is something you value, I would look elsewhere.

I've been wearing these, well at least one, every day at work since I bought them. Battery life is really good. It lasts a solid 8 hours of constant use and even longer with periodic breaks. There appears to be a slight amount of feedback when they are connected but no music is being played. It's nothing too bad, kind of like a deeper tinnitus whine. Definitely not noticeable when music is playing. Or maybe the volume I listen at hides it. These are extremely comfortable for me and are possibly the first ear buds I've ever had stay seated in my ear right out of the box. They fit when I wear a mask for work. They fit when I have sunglasses on. They don't wiggle lose and they never fall out. After a life long struggle with fit of headphones I could hate everything about these and pay just for the fit. I can even chew gum and they both stay seated comfortably in my ears. The sound is good. I'm not picky or an audiophile, but the low end fills in nicely and the highs don't have that glassy sound that cheap sets do. They get extremely loud without distortion. I generally only listen to metal and it's myriad of variants so my listening profile is a little skewed. The included charging case is nice. Shows how much battery is left on the case when you open the lid. A fully charged case lasts me about a week or a week and a half. But again I'm primarily using only the right bud. The headphones lock into place nicely and don't jar loose. I keep them in my backpack and have never had problem with them not charging inside the case. Now for my only two complaints. I hate the touch buttons. A click button would have been ideal. I understand that's not what companies do anymore, but I despise the touch button. I don't understand why two taps is pause and one tap is volume. Wish it was the other way around. Third tap turns on the microphone on or something weird. I didn't read the instructions so I'm not a hundred percent sure. My other complaint is that you can't use these buds independently. The right one is the main controller and the left one pairs to it. It's not a huge deal, but being able to use both independently would have been amazing. It's offered on more expensive alternatives. All in all these are amazing for the price. The couple of drawbacks are far outweighed by all the positives. I would definitely purchase these again.

    Not charging

Review of JLab - Epic Air Sport ANC True Wireless Earbuds - Black First off I have to say the sound is great and the fit is also great and the system comes with several different fittings to customize each ear bud to your specific size (ear canal) requirements. They come in a hard case that is also the recharger for the ear buds them selves and they are well protected. But, there is a problem. I have had these for about a year now with no connection or charging problems until now. Two days ago I noticed the right ear bud (this charges in the left slot of the case) was not charged and would not charge no mater how often I placed it in the case. When I finally took a closer look at the case its self, I found that one of the charging pins (upper pin in the left charging position) had retracted into the case (these are evidently spring activated to make contact), was stuck in the down position and was no longer making contact with the ear bud and not charging it when placed in the case. I tried a few things to get it to charge including placing it in the opposite side, with no results. The right side ear bud is no longer charged and I am relegated to the use of one ear bud only which cuts out part of the reception. Unfortunately, there is no alternative way of charging these ear buds; which I see as a design flaw. If and when something like this happens, there should be another way of charging; a micro USB for instance. In the mean time I don't see a way of fixing the charging case (replacing the spring that activates the pin) and I will most likely have to purchase a new set or some how replace the case. Other than this particular problem, all else works flawlessly.

The ear clips will stay on your ears, fairly comfortable only for an hour or so. The sound is ok, nothing great, Even with the 3 equalizer settings they have very little low end bass sound. The volume is not that loud, which is disappointing, but good for your hearing. I have cheaper ear buds, no ear clips, that have a better, fuller sound. I was going to return them but decided the keep them. If you really appreciate good sound, find something else.

I've owned these for 13 months now. I like to leave reviews after owning a product for a while. Often reviews are left immediately and most products are good when first opened or the buyer is excited. These have held up well. In the last year I've only kept them out of their case and worn them enough to have them die twice. Usually I keep them in their case and if I see the indicator lights are getting lower, I'll plug the case in. The audio is good but definitely not audiophile quality. There's virtually no bass but it's acceptable for general listening. I use them for background music while working and drowning out noises around me, audio books, music (of course), and on occasion somebody will call me while I'm wearing them and I haven't had any issues having a conversation using them. It took a while to get used to the tapping commands on them, which, after a year, I don't use enough to have them memorized other than knowing the number of taps to try until I find what I want. They fit comfortably and snug. I've never had an issue with them falling out or becoming loose while being active, going for a run, etc. I can wear them for a couple hours before I need to take a few minute break. I've only had one issue which was simple to fix. My guess is I was adjusting the volume while only wearing one earbud. The volume in my left earbud was lower than in the right. I found the fix was simple. Put them both in the case, then tape the one on the left (main earbud) 4 times, then the right 4 times. The blue light on them blinks a couple times. Do this quickly then take them out of the case and wait for their lights to turn white. The main one continued to blink until I paired them with my phone against. Doing this resets the pairing. After doing this, the volume between them was equal again. I would give this 5 stars if the case was smaller and the audio had more base. But, for the money and intended purpose, these meet my needs and I would buy again.

So I'm sure people will criticise my comparison but hear me out. These are one of the few 'sport loop' true wireless buds as of right now and I feel that these are a true alternative if you don't wish to spend $250. The first thing to note is the size of the charging case. It is indeed big and bulbous so unless you have cargo pants or baggy pants, the case will need to be stored in a bag. There is a charging cable that's attached to the bottom to make charging the case more convenient. Some people might not like this, but the fact that you won't forget the cable is a huge plus. With the fit and comfort, I have to say that these are very nice. The bit that holds the silicone bud is fairly small so if you have small ear canals these should be just fine for you. The tips of the hooks are made of rubber so there isn't a lot of hard plastic that makes contact with your ears and I can wear these for hours without incident. Of course finding the right tip size is important and they even include some foam tips in the box. Connection can be a little odd at times. Some people might find it anoying that buds have to connect with the source AND each other, while there is a voice prompt for each action. However the fact that they automatically do this makes it less of a hasstle. Of course you will get skips and occasional un-synchronising but a simple pause and play of the app you're using can solve that. Sound is great. If you like bass, you get bass. The sound signature is quite good and as long as you have the right seal you will get the most out of these buds. They can get loud and DON'T FORGET that the buds have a volume setting that's INDEPENDANT of the phone or source, so if they seem quiet, max the volume on the buds THEN turn up the volume on the source. I will say that these things are super useful and fulfill their purpose rather well and I will be using these as often as possible or until they break, which I will ensure that they are taken carr of to prevent any premature breakage.

These earphones are sturdy, they stay in place when you run, and they are simple to use. They are comfortable and they come with several different pad sizes for the ear pieces. It has good audio and a decent microphone. There is also a safety feature that allows you to hear traffic noise and what's going on around you while you listen to music. The only drawbacks are if there's a pairing issue, you might have to put them in the charging case and that is bad if you're already out for a run. Also, it sometimes requires more than a tap to use the control buttons. Aside from that, these are solid sports headphones and I would recommend them.

These are pretty good. The sound was very nice, the call quality good. Sometimes the person on the other end doesn't hear as well, but overall sound good. The stay in ear while moving around so no problem there. And the battery life is top notch. Every now and then loss connection. The ambient noise option is ok ,could be better. I like the way the JBuds stay in my ear during exercise. I find the sound quality good but lacking a little bass. Battery life is more than adequate and the storage box charging insures a fresh charge on the headphones each time they're used. I've owned these a few days shy of a month. I ended up purchasing a pair of these after my power beats 3's died after 3 months of use. Im a very active person. Hiking, running, long sweaty gym sessions and trailrunning. The beats started having issues a month in. The connection range decreased to having to be within a foot of your phone. Then the battery went bad and they wanted to send me a refurbished pair. At that price I paid for those NO THANKS!. So i did some research and these had great reviews. I ended up purchasing them from best buy for $75! The beats where $200! I was skeptical at first. Didnt need to be these are the best wireless earphones ive dealt with. The battery life is insane. Ive yet to have them die. And the case only has to be charges once every 2 weeks. The sound is rich and crisp. You can even turn on aware mode and hear whats going on around you while music is on. A great hiking feature. They get drenched in sweat daily without issue. The tap controls are great once you get the hang of it. Aome have said they are too difficult. I highly disagree. Like anything else in life once you get the hang of it its second nature. The only real drawback is they are maybe 1 level down on max volume compared to the beats. After a week I didnt notice it anymore. Overall ill never buy an apple product again and ill always buy Jlabs. They actually seem to care about the customer. They even have a 2 year warranty and you get a NEW set if you have to use it. Truly a great company.

I would recommend this to a friend
