The JLab - JBuds Party Speaker is just what I was looking for. I’ve had a similar-sized portable bluetooth speaker for a few years now and have found it to be much more useful than I initially expected. So much so, that my wife and I were recently talking about what we could do if we had another! So, here comes the JLab - JBuds Party Speaker!
Honestly, we’re not the loud partying types, but we love to have friends over and just enjoy good food and honest conversation. In those settings, we like to have some nice music playing softly in the background to give a peaceful ambience (Accoustic worship is our favorite). Being able to easily sync a small-but-solid speaker with one of our phones and set it up in the background is just a really nice touch.
At other times we may be watching something on a smaller screen together but want good sound. Grab the JLab and we’re good-to-go. We even use it with our secondary ‘TV’ screen (which is actually a video projector). The JLab - JBuds Party Speaker puts out large quality sound when needed. So, if you’re looking to amp up the party, these will do the trick. You can actually sync multiple units (up to 100!) if you’re looking to cover a large area with great sound.
It’s just so nice to grab the speaker when you need to use it - and know that it’ll have plenty of juice and be ready to go. Watching the latest videos sent by our kids or grandkids with good sound just makes it so much better.
For those who like to brighten things up, these have a programable light band around the top. The JLab app easily synced with the speaker and I really appreciate being able to vary the EQ according to how we’re using it. Along with the app, there are controls on the top of the speaker which are easy to use. And, you can turn the lighting feature off to eliminate the distraction when desired.
For us, the JLab - JBuds Party Speaker is just what we needed - and what we use.

The JLab JBuds Party Speaker in black is an absolute blast and a fantastic addition to any gathering. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by its solid build quality and sleek, modern design. The matte black finish gives it a premium look, while the sturdy construction makes it feel ready for everything from backyard barbecues to impromptu indoor dance parties. It’s compact enough to carry easily but has a surprising heft that speaks to its durability and the powerful sound it delivers.
Sound quality is where this speaker really shines. The audio is rich, balanced, and incredibly loud for its size, filling a room or outdoor space with crisp highs, detailed mids, and impressive bass that never sounds muddy. Even at higher volumes, the sound remains clear and distortion-free, which is perfect for parties where you want to keep the energy high. The bass boost option is especially fun for dance tracks and makes music feel full and immersive.
Battery life is another standout feature. I was pleasantly surprised at how long it runs on a single charge—plenty of time for a full evening of entertainment without needing to plug in. Pairing via Bluetooth is seamless and quick, and the connection stays strong even when moving around. I also appreciate the simple controls, allowing you to adjust volume or switch modes easily.
The JLab JBuds Party Speaker is the ultimate portable party companion. Whether you’re hosting friends, heading to the beach, or just enjoying music at home, it delivers exceptional sound and convenience. Highly recommended for anyone who wants big, vibrant audio in a portable, stylish package.

The JLab JBuds Party Speaker is a unique RGB speaker that looks cool and sounds as good as it looks. This truly stands out as one of the best Bluetooth speakers that I have ever owned.
Out of the box setup is about thirty seconds long if you download the app. Otherwise, shortly after pairing, you are jamming out to a robust and clear little speaker. The most impressive part to me is the amount of bass the unit delivers. But make no mistake, the highs and mids are crisp and equally vibrant. Through the app or the exterior button, you can customize the RGB. The RGB aspect that provides that wow pop and makes the speaker the life of the party. The battery life is extremely long lasting. We tested it one night during a party and had to get it off the patio the next morning when we noticed the sprinklers were on. So, on that note, the water resistant build is solid, and the device still plays. One of my favorite features is the fact that the speaker has a volume knob. The speaker is well-built and actually quite heavy, a testament to its durability.
Overall, we love the JLab Party Speaker. The speaker offers a wonderful mix of party and superior performance that will make it the perfect companion to any vibe.

I like this!!!! Excellent sound!!!!! Easy to carry around with a little wrist strap hand holder. Ok, enough of the nice stuff.
What I don’t like. As with every Bluetooth speaker I’ve had, it’s loud when you turn it on. Annoyingly loud. The annoying lights. The lights don’t go with the music- they just roll through the colors. How to fix this? In the in Quick Start Guide it says to download the app and you can control that. Well, after downloading it seemed to pair and play but it would not show paired on the app so no way to adjust anything. I’ve deleted the app and tried again…same. The control buttons are on top of the speaker (on/off, fwd, back, etc). That makes sense but the only lighted one is the power button . Guess what button you’re hitting in the dark because those annoying lights are below and not helpful to the top! So, use in daylight.
Not a bad speaker but with the annoying issues I found makes me wonder if there are others out there with the features I like.
2. Once you have the app open, hit the "Connect Another Device" button at the bottom of the page, and it should find the speaker if your phone is currently paired with bluetooth to it!
3. Once the speaker shows on the app, you can control all aspects of the lights, sync them to the music and even turn them off completely, if they're not your style!
Thank you again for helping make JLab even better! Feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] for any future questions or problems. We'll gladly troubleshoot with you.

The JLab JBuds Party Speaker is a smaller formfactor Bluetooth portable speaker that comes packed with more features than I was expecting from a product in this price range.
Features
This speaker comes with an IP56 waterproofing rating, which is great because it means it can withstand dust and water jets from all directions. To break this down, the dust rating (5) doesn’t mean all dust is protected, just for a solid 8 hours of a constant flow of dust at the device’s seals and openings. Light dust can still penetrate smaller openings. The water proofing aspect (6) means it can take harsh strong jets blasting the device from all directions on the enclosure. (It’s marketed by Jlabs as Splashproof) To put this in context, this standard is used on all your traffic signals and telecommunications equipment. So, for the price you get a very high standard of protection.
The speaker comes with30 watts of power and two 2.5” full frequency drivers and two 2’ passive woofers. It comes with an RGB light strip around the top that is fully customizable through the JLAB app, and you can pair two of these together to create a surround system.
Testing
I tested this out in the garage and the pool for sound and water resistance. Firstly, it took about 2 minutes to get the app downloaded and speaker paired to my phone and got the RGB lights to the color I wanted. I was even able to turn off the lights. I immediately started playing my Apple Music app and this speaker started thumping! It seriously has some bass to it I was not expecting. I started messing with the APP Equalizer and got it adjusted how I wanted, and it had very good sound. The two speakers face frontwards while the passive woofers are one on top and one on bottom.
To get the full effect I used the strap and hung it from the air and wow, it filled the garage perfectly. I was very impressed after about 5 hours in the garage it was still running smoothly and didn’t need a charge! My wife loved it so much she said she wanted another one, so we ordered a pink variant for her. (I received a black colored one, but it comes in Black, Blue or Pink).
So, I waited a couple extra days to get her speaker in so we could try the two-speaker pairing and put one on each end of the pool to create the surrounding sound. For these little speakers they filled our pool area in the back yard well. I was able to set each one as a left or right speaker so for it to give that surround sound feeling outside.
We tested the splash feature, I mean I threw a mini tidal wave splash of water at it about 10 times, and it never stopped working or sounded impacted. I also let it hand on the side of the pool cage while it rained in the Florida rainstorm fashion. I tested it right after it rained and it worked perfectly and had no issue.
Overall
I think the fact I went out and bought a second one should tell you how much I like this speaker, its compact, it comes loaded with a ton of features, its sounds amazing and can withstand the weather and elements. You will not be disappointed with this product as I know my wife and I love our speakers now!

I am writing this review for the JLabs JBuds Party Speaker.
For a $60 speaker, the JLab JBuds Party Speaker does a solid job of delivering what you’d expect — and maybe a little more. JLab calls it a “party speaker,” but let’s be honest: it’s better suited for a living room, backyard hangout, or small gathering rather than a full-blown party in a large hall. In those smaller spaces, it holds its own just fine.
Sound quality is about what you’d expect at this price point. Don’t look for chest-rattling bass or audiophile-level clarity. The low end is present but not deep, and the mids and highs can come across a bit “hollow.” That said, it still gets the job done for casual listening, background music, or keeping a friendly get-together lively. JLab rates it at 30 watts, and while it hits that mark, it doesn’t push much further.
One nice bonus is the JLab app, which connects easily with the speaker. Through the app you can tweak the EQ settings, adjust the lighting effects, and fine-tune the sound a little more to your liking. It doesn’t turn the JBuds Party Speaker into a powerhouse, but it does give you a bit more control and flexibility than you’d expect from a budget-friendly model.
Build quality is another pleasant surprise. The speaker feels sturdy and has more heft than you’d think, likely thanks to its internal battery, which gives it some staying power. The added LED lights are a nice touch — they give it some personality and make it more fun to use. And speaking of the battery, I have been very pleased by the play time of the JBuds. JLab says up to 12 hours. I haven’t tested it out to that 12 hours, but I left it on for a little over seven hours and it was still going strong.
Overall, the JBuds Party Speaker isn’t pretending to be something it’s not. For $60, you get a durable, good-looking, and app-enhanced speaker that’s great for small spaces. If you want concert-level sound, you’ll need to spend more, but for the price, it delivers exactly what it should.
Pros:
• Solid build, feels durable
• Fun LED lights
• App support for EQ and lighting controls
• Long battery life
• Decent sound for small gatherings
• Affordable price
Cons:
• Bass lacks depth
• Mids/highs can sound hollow
• Not powerful enough for very large spaces
The JLabs JBuds Party Speaker easily earns a Five-Star rating, and I would gladly recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a good party speaker for small gatherings.

I got this yesterday and when I opened the boxes that it came in my first thought was oh yea another speaker likke th one I got from another company which I won't mention out of respect for Best Buy and Jlabs once I got it unpacked and looked at it closer along with reading the quiick start up material I said okay this one looks like it's a whole lot easier to set up and i was also thinking that maybe just maybe it might pair with my PC which the other one won't so I tired to pair it with my pc and got a surprise of tthe life time it is in all actual fact the first wireless Bluetooth speaker that I have found that will work with a bluetooth compatable PC (I was shocked and if you had seen the look on my face yoou would have died laughing at and with me) Once I paired it I pulged it into the usb c port on my PC to charge up fully which didn't take log at all even while I had one of my Favorite games going the sound of the game was so clear that my dog who was laid down next to me jumped uo sat down cocking his head left and right trying to see where it was coming from and making me think of the old RCA ads with the dog infront of an old gramophone type record player and yes I'm telling on my age (lol). This speakerr is actually even easier to pari with my apple iphone 16 onec you download the app for which even turns off the RGB lights on it if you don't want them going, there's even a EQ setting in the app as well as 6 setting for the RGB lighting and volume controls to, the sound it puts out is so clear and crisp in my opinion that I would have it running instead of my head phones unless I was in a chat system such as Discord while in a raid (only to be able to talk and give out some help while in the raid). That's all the pros that I can point out and there is only one Con to this and it's the fact that there is no charger brick with it at all and you more than likely if you don't have a USB C brick to use for it your going to end up having to buy one.
I would 10000% recomend this speaker to anyone and all Gamers to get and this is one PRO I forgot to mention buy more of them as you can pair/mirror cast from the one you have pairs to your amdriod or IOS phone or PC to put out more sound!!! Thanks Best Buy and Jlabs for an awesome Bluetooth Speaker

This review is on a JLab JBuds Party Speaker. I like the design with the light and controls at the top of the speaker. This is Bluetooth only so no other type of connections. Setup was easy with my phone. As soon as I turned it on, a picture of the speaker was brought up on my phone and asked if I wanted to connect. The light is bright but not too bright. You will see the lights on the wall if it is completely dark but not if there is already some light in the room. It has six patterns that it can display at different speeds that you can choose. There isn't names to the patterns but I would describe them as: circular, rainbow, intersecting circles, single flashing colors, full color changing and wavelength. All of these respond to the music you are listening to so if you stop the music then you get a bit of a different effect. The speaker is loud and I mean really loud. Almost too much for indoor use at full volume but sounds great outdoors. The bass has a little thump but because of the size it isn't great bass. There is not any distortion with the bass. There are 3 equalizer settings and one custom. In the app you can pull up the directions on how to control the device with the buttons on it. You can do updates through the app without using wires. I had to do one and it took about a minute. In the app there are some battery saving options you can set to make the battery last longer. There are also some ambient sounds in the app you can use to help you get to sleep. These are the sounds: Rain, Waves, Birds, Airplane, Fan, Creek, Music, Outer Space and Crickets. It says you can connect these with up to 100 other of the brands speakers through LabSync. I cannot imaging what 100 of these would sound like together but I know it would be awesome. They are synced easily by pressing the button on top and pretty much do the the same on the other speakers. This is a fun little speaker that I will enjoy playing my favorite songs.

I really like the JLab JBuds speaker. I paired it with my Google Pixel 10 Pro. It detected it immediately. There was a firmware update when the app connected to it. There are 6 different lighting patterns you can choose from. You can also turn off the lighting.. You can adjust both speed of the pulsing and brightness. There is a custom light patter option. However, you can only have one custom color pattern.
When you turn on the speaker, there is a voice prompt that tell you if the bluetooth has paired with your device. It also announces how much battery it currently has. It does not tell you in percent or tell you how long you have before battery runs out. It says something like battery medium. You can turn off the voice prompts.
The speaker has LabSync. It supposed to allow you to connect to other JLab speakers to sync them and have it play the same music. I could not try it because I only had one speaker. But this is cool if you have multiple speakers or if you have friends that have the same speakers.
I listen to music when I wash my car. It is loud enough to have it in the garage and I am on the driveway. The music is clear. There are many different equalizer profiles. I juse the JLab Signature profile and it sounds good with R&B and rap music.
This is a nice portable speaker to bring to the park or the beach. You can plug in headphones and has USB-C port to recharge it. It is rated for12 hours of playback. This is more than enough time. I have yet to drain it fully. I can charge it in my car whenever I am done using it or when I get home.

This is a pretty sound packaged into an easy to carry and really portable speaker. It is charged via USB C and a has an Aux input underneath a pretty decent rubber cover, so using this in the rain or potentially in the pool area looks like a pretty safe bet. I love the volume knob on top; it is easy to just turn versus looking to see exactly where the volume buttons are on other outdoor speakers. The other buttons include a forward, back and equalizer setting cycler. The volume button when pressed down is the play pause/button.
The light bar is customizable in the app or you can turn it off though I really like the light. There are 6 different presets that change the light patterns, then you can adjust the brightness, speed, how many colors (up to 7), and which colors are used.
The bass sounds great and is on the bottom, which is set off the ground with bottom portion of the speaker having a design that allows the bass to flow no matter what the surface you set this on is (besides water or something similar I suppose).
Overall, I am really impressed and happy with the sound and speaker. We have a much larger speaker for outside, but this one gets just as loud and sounds just as good so has become the go to.

I’ve had one of the few first Jlab earbuds and Jlab have been so much better since then. These speakers build are made of very good quality. The construction is durable, the materials are of high quality, and even the overall design is solid. But like any other speaker, the sound is what is the most important. And that’s the challenge of this device, the sound quality is a mid.
BUILD AND DESIGN
Connecting is easy, though there is the app which I will discuss in a few, but straight Bluetooth mobile phone connection is easy. The buttons on the speakers’ top feel good to touch and it’s icons are easily visible and recognizable with a good amount of feedback on presses--- they are very responsive. So pairing, next tracks, EQ can easily be adjusted. There is even a volume knob, which is nicely made too. It is smooth and easily accessible making any sound adjustment done in a breeze. I think this knob is a win. The lights were cool; I had options to change them in the app.
PERFORMANCE
This is where this is most important though, the SOUND. Straight from default settings, the speakers were very imbalanced. The sound is not desirable at all, my wife had to ask me to turn it off. The mid range was way too overpowering so the sound was more noise than pleasant.
Upon downloading the app, there was a firmware upgrade which was good that it updated the sound. It sounded more balanced however quality still was just so-so. In order for it to sound decent, I had to put the EQ on bass boost eq so the mids and highs were a little more at on the same plane with the bass. I can't go higher than 65% without distorting the sound. Even with high quality sound files, the sound at high volumes is rough. I can do custom eq but it doesn't make the sound range wider. Especially outdoors, I cannot really turn up the volume without the quality suffering. These have the option to daisy chain multiple Jlab party speakers. I have a feeling multiple of these could work well.
Overall, the speakers look good but they do not sound as good as it looks. I am not sure if another firmware can fix the quality but internal hardware to me seems a little weak, so I am not sure if the sound output can be wider. These can be good speakers indoors, playing at decent 50-60% levels. These may work well with its other speakers—maybe one day I can try. Other than that, do not expect too much of these as a stand alone.

There’s not much to say about this speaker except that it works great. Setup is a piece of cake, taking my 10-year-old granddaughter less than a minute to pair it with her IPad. The sound is excellent, being very clear and crisp with a deep base (her mother is always telling her to turn it down). The colorful display (which she describes as “rainbow colors”) is fun, especially for a 10-year-old, and whenever she has a party or just has her friends over, she’s got something cool to go with it.
Like everything under the sun these days, the speaker can be controlled by a phone app. My granddaughter can control it from her IPad. You can control lighting effects, equalizations, etc. To my mind, the lighting effects are secondary concerns. You buy a speaker because you want good sound. You don’t spend a lot of time looking at it. Yes, it’s nice that the colors can flash to the beat of the music, so I can see it for parties, but I’m perfectly fine with a good-sounding speaker no matter what it does or doesn’t look like when I just want music for me. This speaker fits that bill to a T.
