Definitely dope, nice and sturdy functions awesomely and my camera was heavy

Honestly, this thing is extremely versatile. I even use the attachment for my leveler to get better height so I can measure things. I extremely recommend this. Also this is the first time I’ve ever had a tripod in my life, and I use it almost daily for random things.

Nice and tall, quality product. I used this for my daughter’s concert she’s a member of the school band, and orchestra. This is a big help for me when recording her with two different performances. Very handy and so stable. Just set it up properly because there’s no way to lock the feet together. You need to balance and even each of them.

Great tripod stand. I use it with my iPhone 13 Pro and DJI Action 4 with a cage and it is super solid. Is "scroll" wheel lock function is my favorite since you can make slow adjustments without fidgeting the shot. You will definitely want to buy either most quick release mounts or a general plate. Built in level is also very nice.

This is the perfect stand, very affordable and bigger when Exstended then exspected. I dont leave reviews much but this one definitely deserves it. Very sturdy, lightweight Only con being the carrying case is a pain to get tri pod in and out. Other then that perfect

I’m a newbie and only started creating videos for fun. One thing I know, you need some kind of tripod stand otherwise it’s a mess creating videos. I researched many tripod stands and finally decided to go with this one. I really liked the tripod heigh adjustable feature and you can easily control the swivel movement. This can also be used as a selfie stick. Build quality is solid and I recommend it

Needed a replacement for my aging tripod so I most definitely went with JOBY I own a smalled tripod by theme & have used several of their products in the past. Outstanding craftsmanship to get any photo/video job done!

I bought this back in August and it has already fallen apart. The phone holder screw came out and the piece to hold the screw in isn’t straight on with the hole. I bought this for the sole purpose of holding my phone. Which it can’t anymore.

The Joby Compact Action tripod is an easy-to-use versatile tripod that makes shooting with smartphones and light-duty cameras easy. Here’re some of the pros and cons I have noticed while using it for a week or so. Pros: Solid build quality Can go from ~27” upto 61” height with the 3 telescopic legs Additional 15/16” height with the adjustable center column, which is detachable and can be used independently Not that heavy (around 2.5 lbs) Phone mount included and can accommodate almost all smartphones I can think of The included storage bag is high quality and has adequate padding for comfort The head is interesting - has a ‘joystick’ to help move it smoothly A selector knob switches between ‘photo’ and ‘video’ modes. In video mode the tilt movement is locked so makes it easy to take panoramic shots A bubble level is integrated with the detachable quick-release plate which I found to be more useful than those that are mounted on the tripod itself Phone mount has two additional cold shoes which can be used to attach lights and microphones if needed Cons: Can only support compact cameras (up to 3.3 lbs), so care needs to be taken when mounting a camera + lens The quick-release plate is proprietary, and from the information provided by Joby can be used with GorillaPod kit Quick-release plate has no thumb screw to tighten it. Since only 1 plate is provided when I’m swapping between my camera and smartphone I have to take it off from one and put it into the other. And having to use a quarter (coin) or a tool makes this process very cumbersome No standout feature compared to other regular tripods Overall, the Joby Compact Action tripod delivers what it promises - a versatile mount for smartphones and compact cameras. I think it’ll hold up really well for a long time. However, I couldn’t find a stellar standout feature that’ll make it unique compared to other offerings in the market. And the lack of a thumb-screw in the proprietary quick-release plate actually put’s into some disadvantage. Though I’d recommend it for what it is, I’ll definitely shop around and compare.

This is a tripod I wanted to wholeheartedly endorse, but some shortcomings keep me from recommending it without qualifications. There are several good things to point out. It’s comparatively lightweight. It’s comparatively compact. It comes with a well-made, padded carrying bag. It is very reasonably priced. Lastly, the kit comes with an adapter for cell phones. The last point is significant because this tripod is well suited to content creators. It works very well with action cameras, phones, and other lightweight devices. It was adequate to hold my Sony APC mirrorless with a modest zoom lens, but that is about its intended limit. I wouldn’t use it for a full-sized DSLR or with a lens of significant weight. The Joby QR (quick release) mount gets a little wobbly when used with heavier cameras. The same is true with the telescoping, five-section legs. Fully extended the legs become rather flexible and subject to vibration. There’s no method to attach any stabilizing weight or to secure it, so I wouldn’t use it fully extended in high winds. The swiveling, pistol grip head is one of its unique features. There is a single large thumb turn wheel on the grip that secures it in position on a ball swivel. It can be set for two-axis or full swivel, but when in two-axis mode, there’s still some play in the “locked” axis. You can quickly get it into position, but fine-tuning and leveling that position is a bit fiddly. There is no way to limit motion to only one axis, so panning with a camera of any size and weight isn’t going to give professional results. The phone adapter screws to the QR mount just like a camera. It’s padded, secure, and rotates. It also has standard camera shoe mounts to hold additional microphones, lights, etc. As stated before, this kit would be great for cell phone and action-cam video work. This tripod is not high-priced, high-quality professional camera equipment. The quality is decent but inexpensive with a lot of plastic parts. For lightweight use, it should last a good while, and the price is right. You get a good value for what you pay, and you’ll be happy if your demands and use are a match to the product.

JOBY - COMPACT ACTION SMART KIT MODEL:JB01762-BWW Best Buy Tech Insider Network VERSITAL – COMPACT to VERY TALL – LIGHTWEIGHT – TRIPOD BEST FOR INDOOR USE OVERALL I like JOBY - COMPACT ACTION SMART KIT is was, for the most part, instantly intuitive and easy to setup and use. The pistol grip in pretty cool as it allows you to easily change the orientation (tilt, pan, etc) with one hand as well as locking it into place. The included phone holder is a nice touch. I like how short it can get, which makes it perfect for desktop use. In my case to hold my “webcam” and light. But, it also gets very tall to let you shoot higher. PERFORMANCE The JOBY - COMPACT ACTION SMART KIT is very easy to adjust to fit just about any shooting situation. There are some limitations, but perfectly in alignment with the targeted use. I’m not sure I would use this for a full size heavy SLR with a giant lens, but it is great for compact cameras, cell phones, compact camcorders, webcams, etc. In order to be so short and so tall, there are many segments as you can imagine, eventually the legs get very thin. What is missing from my point of view is a “Ballast Hook” at the bottom center of the tripod to allow you to weight down the tripod and to overcome minor wind issues when shooting out of doors. Combined with the thin legs, for me, this limits its use to wind free days or indoor use. I would not want to put my $1000 camera or cell phone at risk to it toppling over. I also could not figure out what the selector switch is for between camera and video. I could not tell any difference between the modes. MY USE My main use case is a desktop tripod to hold my 4K video that I’m using as high-quality webcam. The JOBY - COMPACT ACTION SMART KIT let me get the camera at exactly the perfect height to the camera as close my monitor as possible so it looks more like I’m looking at people on video calls instead of to the side or too high. It also helps when I’m making “content” videos. RECOMMENDATION I recommend the JOBY - COMPACT ACTION SMART KIT for indoor and lightweight camera usage. It is very flexible and adjustable. I really like it.

I recently bought a Joby GripTight One that I have come to really enjoy. But a grip type of camera mount doesn’t work as well in open areas or for taking group photos either in most situations. And this tripod has definitely filled the gap for where my GripTight simply wasn’t the solution. The padded nylon carrying case is fantastic. It’s perfect for the lightweight design of the tripod itself. And the strap to throw it over your shoulder is an excellent touch. I wasn’t expecting such a firm design coming from a stand that felt so light out of the box. The legs easily extend the height of a mounted camera to just under 6’. And every way you can possibly move it feels easy. None of the joints feel flimsy and every one is easily adjustable to get the right angle even on my uneven garage floor. This has made it so easy to get a view on my work that just wasn’t available otherwise. Excellent product. Great price. Super easy to use. I couldn’t ask for more out of this tripod.

Excellent for shooting video with a mobile phone. A spring phone holder mount is included, so that doesn't need to be bought separately. A nice carrying bag is also included. The legs adjust easily and quickly. There's a wheel to lock the tilt on the fly with only the turn of the thumb. The wheel is covered in rubber for grip, which is great. There is a simple switch knob on the side to lock the paning feature, toggling between video and camera-type shooting. It exceeds my expectations. Highly recommend!
