Excellent tripod for the price. Not a huge fan of how the legs adjust, I’m not sure if there is a better system or not but for the price I enjoy this tripod. I also use their smaller gripper tripod so being able to swap my camera onto whatever one really quickly is nice

JOBY - Compact Advanced Smart Kit The Joby compact advanced smart tripod kit is a great piece of equipment for basic photography and vlogging. I’ve had cheap tripods before, and they can be pretty unstable. Joby’s is a very solid unit worthy of consideration. Firstly, it comes in a neat travel bag. It’s handy to store it in even if your camera bag has straps for a tripod. It is very compact to start with but the tubular aluminum telescoping legs of the tripod have extension up to 55” or so. The locking mechanisms are secure, and it’s really light. I weighed it with the phone mount at 3lbs 5oz. The adjustments on this have a nice grippy feel. You get tilt and lateral tilt, both of which use standard screw type handles for adjustment. The feel is pretty solid on them and you can adjust relatively easily without throwing off your shot. I found single handed small adjustments pretty easy and smooth. The inclusion of a bubble level is a nice touch. The head’s overall adjustments are smooth and there is a small button to free the plate printed with the Joby logo. The plate does require tightening with a coin or screwdriver. Loosening by hand is certainly possible, but to get the right alignment you’ll need to tighten with a penny or other straight object. The phone mount was convenient and solid. I found my iPhone 12 Pro Max with a case fit with a half inch extension possible on either side. The rubber lined meant vibration and movement were minimized. Materials used in construction seem quite good. Soft rubbers are used wherever there is friction keeping motion smooth and solid as pressure is applied. The handles adjust inward for storage keeping the tripod as compact as possible. Again, the telescoping legs are awesome and the length of the tripod when collapsed is quite compact. I’ve only used a few tripods in my day, but the Joby kit is by far the best experience. It’s solid, has a professional feel to it, and the included phone mount is quite versatile. It’s a fun piece of kit to work with and I highly recommend it!

So far it’s the best tripod I found at Best Buy. It’s a bit wobbly sometimes but it works.
