This tripod offers everything for an entry level photographer or filmmaker with a sturdy build, plenty of controls, along with a mount for your smartphone. This tripod has a sturdy construction and can hold a payload of up to 6.6lbs which is plenty for most consumer and prosumer cameras out there, even with a bigger lens. What’s nice is that they also include a spring-loaded smartphone mount which attaches to the quick release top plate. For the camera quick release plate, it uses the same one that Job uses on their GorillaPod 3K flexible tripod so if you have one of those you can switch your camera between them quickly. It has a 3 way rotating head which allows you to pan (rotate) and tilt (fore/aft), but also tilt side to side. I don’t recall seeing side to side movement on tripod heads in this price range so there’s plenty of versatility with how you can use this tripod. It also has a bubble level to ensure you have your camera oriented correctly. The legs extend using 4 flip locks and you can unblock all of them in one motion so you can extend the legs quickly. Although the construction feels solid for the most part, there’s a few random pieces of plastic that rattle which lessens the feeling of a sturdy, durable product. For instance the cap on the left hand side of the ball head it fits loosely and I can’t figure out a way to tighten it.

BLUF: if you need a tripod for your smartphone, this is the one To start, I own a DSLR as well as a mirrorless that I use for portraits. That being said, I don’t always want/need my full kit, especially on family trips to Disney World, for example. That’s where the Joby comes in. The tripod folds down into a size that fits in my carryon, and is still stable enough for me to snap a quick family photo The head adjusts very easily; and as all tripods should, there is a bubble level built in to make sure you’re even. When locked out all the way, the tripod was plenty high and still didn’t worry me that it would keel over.

Neat compact tripod. I appreciate the size and the ability to use my phone or my camera. I'm new to taking pictures more seriously and the tripod is a game changer. I didn't realize how long it took to take a good picture with how shaky I am before using this. It's super easy to use and great size to pick up throw in a bag and go. This is an awesome option for anyone looking to try out a tripod.

This tripod is very good quality and is a big help for recording my videos and when I have to go live. I've used this for an iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, and a Motorola G7 without any problems. I think I might get another so I can record from multiple angles.

Major quality flaws, but does the job as it should

I purchased this tripod to replace a sunpak tripod and quality wise, it unfortunately doesn't pass it by much. The grips to tighten and loosen the position of the camera have fallen apart after less than 3 weeks of use, and the tripod has overall become very worn over a small amount of use in perfectly normal conditions. Parts for the tripod are also absolutely impossible to find anywhere so make sure you don't lose any of them! However, this tripod is certainly not all doom and gloom. The fluid head attached to the plate is incredibly convenient and the rotating abilities of this tripod is also great (especially for vertical photos unlike my past tripods!). Works great for just about any photo shoot and does the job perfectly as any tripod should. Would give this tripod a 6.5/10 overall, definitely has its pros and cons

This is a solid, very adjustable, light weight tripod. The legs extend and collapse with little effort and it feels confidently sturdy while holding a DSLR camera. While it collapsed it's about 17 1/2 inches and while extended it can reach 5 1/2 feet. Inside the box it also includes a phone mount. Which is great because sometimes I need to be able to use my phone for wide angle shots and now I don't need a separate mount. I highly recommend it.
