It's adequate at best. There's nothing too wrong with it persay, but the weight rating is a bit generous. The legs are squishy and when extended fully, it's pretty shaky. The leg position locks, the ones that allow the legs to spread more, are really loose... Per design it seems.
Comparing this to a 30 year old manfrotto, a 10 year old vangard alta, and a K&F designs, the Joby is the weakest on the list. But compared to other tripods at best buy, it's likely the best in it's price range. It is definitely overpriced, I'd be happy spending 75 on it, not 150.
If your gear weighs under 7 lbs, you'll probably be fine and wont have a complaint. It IS a light tripod and IS easy to use. So if youre not looking to carry a DSLR\mirrorless with a 100mm+ lens, you should be fine... If you get it at a discount.

Great Tripod with Only One Flaw

I recently picked up the JOBY RangePod Tripod for Camera and Vlogging, and overall, I’m really impressed. The build quality is fantastic—it feels super sturdy and reliable, which is exactly what I need for both photography and vlogging. The adjustable height options and easy-to-use locking mechanisms make setting up and adjusting my shots a breeze. Plus, the red accents add a nice touch of style.
However, there’s one downside: the weight. This tripod is definitely on the heavier side, which can make it a bit of a hassle to carry around for extended periods, especially if you’re on the move a lot. If weight isn’t a big concern for you, then it’s perfect. But if you’re looking for something lightweight, keep that in mind.
Overall, though, it’s a fantastic tripod with excellent stability and quality. I’d still recommend it for anyone looking for a durable, high-quality tripod—just be prepared for a bit of extra weight.

This tripod is awesome! Really solid feeling, you can tell the build is of quality, a far cry from some of the other tripods available at Best Buy IMHO.
I love the different settings on the pivot points of the legs to give you tons of versatility in setup and height.
It packs away nice and small and fits nicely (case included) into my northface backpacks water bottle holder for easy transportation
My one complaint is the clunkiness of all of the adjustment pieces on the mount itself. I would like to see a boom handle for smooth panning when I have my go pro or phone mounted for videos. Don't get me wrong, the pivot action is smooth as butter, but you have to grab the actual base of the mount or camera itself to pivot it. For the DSLR it's excellent, and the fine adjustments of the controls work just fine.

It is a decent tripod for the price. Quick to set up, solid enough for most uses, however with big heavy lenses, or a need for absolute stability, there are better and a LOT more expensive options. Easy to carry. 5 stars because I think it represents an excellent value for a portable daily use pod.

Excellent tripod. For the price this is the best option, I mean I wish it was a little cheaper but that’s just my opinion. It is super fluid, stable, and the design is solid and durable

Super sturdy, super smooth. Bought it to shoot a wedding and loved every moment of it. If your looking for a basic collapsible tripod to have on the go you can find similar ones on amazon for much cheaper but none of them come close to the quality or stability of this one.

I wanted a sturdy tripod but could not justify the cost of the professional ones. I have been using this tripod for about 2 months and am very pleased with how easy to use and sturdy it is. When I am using a large lens I notice movement when I am touching the camera but no more than expected.

My smallrig tripod failed on me whilst traveling so I got the JOBY RangePod tripod from my nearest BESTBUY store. It is light compared to alike travel tripods and the functionality with the twist leg extension is great and fast to deploy. really happy with the purchase and service at BESTBUY and save my US photography trip.

No regrets buying this tripod. It's very obvious that is has Manfrotos styling and build quality into it. You wont be disappointed. Using witj a R and an RP with a 70x200mm L with no issues at all. 100% trust it.
