Not the best..

Great hair dryer, but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved that it dried my hair so quickly, but one of the heating elements burned out after only 3 months and then the dryer started to have a strong burning odor two weeks ago. Now it just squeals when I plug it in. I've only had it for 7 months and it has a 4-yr warranty, but Conair wants me to ship it back at my expense ($13) plus send them a $7 check to cover replacement costs. I already spent $40 to buy it, now I have to shell out another $20 to replace a faulty item.

I called and was told they would gladly replace it if I paid shipping to and from John Frieda's warehouse. I in all my years have never heard of such a thing. They are the first company I have ever had this experience with. I should not have to be out of pocket to replace or repair a defective product. Usually a RMA is sent and the defective product is returned at the manufactures expense, or a replacement is sent out and the faulty product is returned. So a $50 hair dryer that is under warranty and breaks will be replaced but after spending another $20 to pay for the shipping. Not a good warranty at all! No wonder its a four year warranty, who is going to waste money sending it back to get another one that might break as well and then have to pay more money to get another one again and so on and so on.
