📦 UNBOXING:
Inside the box of the ALTI, you will get the desk mat, the charging mat, a USB C to C cable, and the user manual.
There is no wall adapter included, so Journey expects you to provide your own. This isn’t inherently a problem if you already had a USB C wall adapter included with your phone, but customers who don’t have one will have to go out of their way to purchase a 9V/3A wall adapter to power the 15W MagSafe wireless charging pad and 5W Qi wireless charging pad.
💪 BUILD:
The desk mat uses a vegan leather material for the surface, and a felt material for the underside. This means the surface that touches your hands, palms and arms will be somewhat rubbery, yet smooth. This will likely introduce more friction than a standard fabric mouse pad, so gamers are really not the target audience for this desk mat.
However, for office use, I think the desk mat is sufficient and doesn’t cause me issues. If anything, I enjoy the fact that the vegan leather can be easily cleaned compared to a fabric desk pad, so it should look clean for a lot longer without showing obvious signs of wear.
You can also lift the vegan leather layer to slide documents in between the vegan leather and felt layer, if you need to quickly clean up your desk for a meeting or want to protect your documents from potential spills from a drink at your desk. You probably won’t want to stack or fold documents since that can make the desk mat uneven, but you can maybe get away with 2-3 layers of paper.
The charging pad magnetically attaches to the side of the desk mat, and it can be configured on the right or left side of the desk mat, since both left and right sides of the charging pad are magnetic.
However, the implementation here isn’t immaculate. On my unit, I noticed that the felt and vegan leather layer did not align perfectly. It’s roughly a millimeter of tolerance which isn’t a huge deal, but for those who would be irritated by this discrepancy, I do think it is worth noting. And given the price you’re paying, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect better.
Another thing I notice is that finger oils are more likely to be apparent when you touch the vegan leather on the ALTI. While I don’t find myself touching the pad with my fingers all that often, the low-profile nature of the MagSafe phone charging pad means that I do end up touching the pad around that area just to remove my phone from the strong magnets, and I’ve noticed some smudges. But a quick wipe down with a damp cloth or wipe will get rid of those smudges.
⚡ CHARGING:
Charging is as you would expect. As long as you have the proper 9V/3A adapter, you should be able to achieve the full 15W phone charging power and 5W for earbuds. I never had any issues with either charging pad, so they seem to be well-implemented.
And whenever there is a device detected on the charging pad, an LED indicator on the charging pad will pulsate so that you aren’t left guessing. Plus, the included cable is fairly long, so it will likely reach your wall adapter or other USB-C power.
🧐 CONCLUSION:
Overall, the ALTI is a product that achieves what it sets out to achieve for an office desk pad with wireless charging capabilities. The ALTI looks elegant on your desk, and the charging has been reliable for me. I don’t love the price, but the reality is that Journey’s ALTI has an aesthetic design that looks a lot better to me than many other competing options on the market.

Hey folks, just wanted to share my thoughts on this slick Journey Branded ALTI Wireless Charging Desk Mat I’ve been trying out. It’s been a bit of a mixed bag, so let’s dive into what’s hot and what’s not.
First Impressions
Right out of the box, the vegan leather caught my eye—it’s not the plush feel of real leather, but hey, it’s doing the job while keeping it ethical, right? It fits my desk just right, making the whole setup look neat and tidy. Although it’s not just about looks, the functionality here kinda toes the line.
Let’s Talk Charging
The wireless charging feature? Spot on! It handles my iPhone and Pixel 9 Pro XL like a champ, thanks to its MagSafe-Like compatibility. Note - it's not officially MagSafe, but it works just as well from an attachment perspective. Tossing my AirPods on there gets them juiced up nicely too. I did swap out the included USB-C cable for a shorter one I already had—just works better with my desk setup.
But here’s the kicker—the detachable magnet panel is a tad too weak for my taste. Anytime my desk gets a little action, like a quick desk tidy or an accidental nudge, the panel feels like it wants to live its own life. Why not beef up those magnets?
That Flap Though
Now, about that hideaway flap… It’s supposed to help hide away your notes and papers, right? Well, for someone like me who’s gone mostly digital, it’s more of a gimmick than a game-changer. I hardly use it, and it kind of flaps around, which isn’t the best look.
Stability and Comfort
While we’re at it, let’s talk about the mat sliding around. My desk’s smooth finish means this mat drifts around more than I’d like. Maybe some rubber backing could keep it in check? Though it’s comfy for typing and all, a little less thickness might not be a bad trade-off for more stability.
Wrap-Up
So, would I recommend this desk mat? If you’re all about that clean desk aesthetic and don’t mind splurging a bit, absolutely. It looks sharp, charges well, and definitely declutters the space. Just bear in mind it’s more style than pure functionality.
If you’re someone who digs a minimalist setup and wants to cut down on the desk clutter without compromising on the tech-friendly features, this could be a hit for you. Just maybe keep those expectations in check about the whole ‘hideaway’ and magnet deal.

What a great piece of tech! I really had not given too much thought of a charging desk mat but my mouse pad I had was getting a little worn and I was looking at another mouse pad. Then the Journey wireless charging desk mat came across my path…Intrigued. Why not charge my phone and Air pods while I’m sitting on my desk!
I got it and it came in a box all rolled up. I unfurled it and I examined it. It’s well built, and the materials are indeed premium. I like how you can have the felt or the “vegan leather” look. Keep in mind that “vegan leather” is really just a fancy way of saying really nice plastic. But it is nice plastic! The charging circle for the phone is raised a bit and my iPhone locks on securely. I really like that. It charges fast! The AirPods charging portion is slightly recessed so the pods fit right in. One thing I noticed is I had to subtly move my AirPods case around ever so slightly to engage the charge. The phone locked right up but the pods had just a little play. Not a big deal, I just had to tweak them just a tiny bit to engage the charging.
I like how the matt is reversible from the felt side to the “vegan leather” side but if you choose the “vegan leather” side up the felt is on the bottom and is a little slippery on a wooden desk. It moves a little every now and then depending on my movement. I guess one could put down non-slipping material under it if it bothers them. I will live with the minimal movement.
Overall, I really like the mat. It charges fast looks great on my desktop and is made very well. What else could you ask for? Great product!

Great Desk Mat for the Office

his is a great desk mat for an office space. It’s a nice surface for your keyboard and mouse and the charger is great for charging phones and earbuds. The main mat is reversible and can be either a smooth (vegan) leather surface or a soft felt. Both materials feel and look great. There’s also a pocket that lets you store documents and notes which is nice. The size is just a little small for my taste - it fits my tenkeyless keyboard and mouse well, but I think a full size keyboard and mouse on it might feel just a little cramped.
The wireless charger is joined on the felt edge of the mat and attaches magnetically. Charger is magnetic on either side, so you can attach it to the mat and then turn it so it’s either on your left side or right side. The wireless charger is not reversible like the mat is and you only have the leather finish on that, but it still has a nice contrast even when using the felt side of the mat. There is a MagSafe compatible charging spot that supports up to 15W and a smaller spot for earbuds that supports up to 5W charging. A USB-C cable is included in the box, but unfortunately a USB-C power adapter is not and that needs to be provided separately. The manual indicates a 9V/3A input. Fortunately those kind of chargers are pretty easy to come by these days and don’t cost too much to buy, but it’s disappointing it’s not included. I can confirm both charging spots work great and both my iPhone and Pixel instantly charged on the 15W spot while my Jabra earbuds had no problems charging on the earbud spot.
I’m a fan of desk mats and I think they add a great aesthetic to desk spaces. The ALTI desk mat is a nice mat that pairs a really handy charger to help get rid of some wire clutter. For the cost I do they think they ought to have included a USB-C power adapter in the box, but overall I’m really happy with it and I can’t wait to get it onto my desk at work.

As a healthcare provider, my home office doubles as a work and gaming space. The Journey Alti wireless charging desk mat has been a nice addition to my setup for both work and play. No matter where I go or what I’m doing, my phone is by my side. I like that I can simply place my phone on the charging pad and my MagSafe compatible case locks right on. While I’m catching up on work, I usually put my AirPods in to drown out background noise and focus. I like that I can set my wirelessly charging case on its designated charger and keep things topped up. I often times do deal with paper notes for work. While I first thought the storage space between the leather and felt was a bit of a gimmick, I actually find myself storing notes here temporarily if I need to step away from my desk. I do this so I don’t misplace something important and so that my puppy doesn’t snag something and try to eat it. Speaking of the leather and felt, both feel nice and of good quality for the price. The mat is large enough for me to place my keyboard on top and also use the space to the right as a mousepad. With the size of the mat and the weight of my keyboard on it, I appreciate that it doesn’t slide away while I’m gaming like my previous mousepad did. Like any good addition to your personal space, the Journey Alti wireless charging desk mat blends in seamlessly and serves multiple functions. I’m certainly happy with it.

I received this product in navy blue, being one of my favorite colors, Journey's product is gorgeous and functional. The mat comes in three pieces: USB C cable powers the device and is connected to my main monitor so it only draws power when my monitor is powered on.
You have the charge pad that magnetically attaches to the main dusk mat and it looks like it could be reversible however mine is oriented on the left side. With room to charge my iPhone 14 Max and my airpod pros my two most important devices to stay topped off while I work.
The main mat itself peels away to a felt like underpad that protects any documents you may need to leave on your desk from spills I tend to spill things so this is definitely appreciated but I also use it for my Logitech charge mat, eliminating the need for additional space on my desk so that my mouse can also sit on the pad and charge independently of everything else
My only mild complaint is that the mat tends to move around on my desk so I need to put some sort of grip tape down so that it does not move while I type or move my mouse however if you are looking for a new map with more capability an actual style this set up is for you.

Journey Alti Wireless Charging Desk Mat Review
The Journey Alti Wireless Charging Desk Mat is a modern and wireless charging desk mat that’ll charge both a phone and your headphones. The mat I received for review was made of black, high-quality vegan leather and features a non-slip surface to keep your device in place while charging.
The desk mat portion detaches magnetically from the double charging mat and is reversible as well, with a felt lining on the other side in case that’s more your style. It’s easily wiped down with a damp cloth and seems to be well-built. Let’s break down the features a little more.
Features:
Fast wireless phone charging: The Journey Alti Wireless Charging Mat supports fast wireless charging for compatible devices, providing up to 15W of power with MagSafe. Other phones that are Qi enabled will also charge, though. I tested an iPhone 15 Pro and a Samsung Galaxy Flex 4
Wireless headphone charging: This will easily charge your AirPods if they are MagSafe compatible, but also charge any headphones that are Qi compatible. I tested both AirPods Pro and Samsung Buds.
Reversible: One side is vegan leather, the other is felt.
LED indicator: The mat has a built-in LED indicator that lets you know when your device is charging and when it is fully charged.
Storage: You can easily slide notes or papers between the 2 layers of the mat without any issue.
Connection: The included USB-C cable will work with any fast charging capable USB-C power brick.
Overall:
I am absolutely loving the Journey Alti Wireless Charging Desk Mat. The black color compliments my brown desk, and it charges all my phones and headphones just fine. Although the omission of a power brick seems like a sin at the asking price, there’s still a lot of value and style to the Alti that I think is worth the price of entry.

Stylish and Functional Wireless Charging Mat

I’m not quite sure why we haven’t fully realized the wireless charging potential in our every day products, and places where it is, why has it taken so long? Journey has taken this idea and integrated it into an area where maybe we could use it the most. At our desk.
The Journey Alti wireless charging desk mat is a neat product that provides a very premium, reversible desk mat and adds an element of functionality to it by also including a wireless charging strip that magnetically attaches to the desk mat.
The design opens the door for preference. On one side you’re greeted with a soft felt, which I’ve been enjoying due to my longer work sessions. I notice my wrists aren’t getting clammy the way it does when they rest directly on the desk. The felt I feel helps wick away some of the moisture your skin gets from smothering against the desk. The other side offers its advantages as well. The premium vegan leather I think works better when I go from working to gaming. The leather surface has less friction than the felt and the mouse moves a bit smoother across because of it.
The two sides are only joined at one end, where the wireless charging attaches. Because of this, you can stash away a few sheets of paper to help with clutter. I keep a sheet of paper for scrap notes when I’m on calls that I then summarize in an email or notes app. When I’m done for the day, I can slide this in between the two fabrics to keep my desk looking tidy.
The wireless charging part of the matt feels like it’s made with the same premium vegan leather on top and a more rubberized material on the bottom to help keep it all in place. There’s a small, recessed area at the top which is clearly for your wireless charging AirPods case. Also, you’ll see the raised round part of the pad which is meant for devices using the Magsafe standard. I also expect devices that support Qi2 wireless charging might also benefit from this, but I did not have a device on hand to be able to test this. Either way, if your device supports Qi wireless charging, you shouldn’t have any issues using it with a non-magsafe device.
As far as connecting the device, you’re given a fairly basic usb-c to usb-c charging cable. No brick included, for sustainability purposes. The cable could have been a bit nicer considering you’re buying a desk mat with premium materials like felt and vegan leather. A braided cable would have matched the aesthetics here. Also, I’m not sure if there’s color matching, as I’m using the black desk pad and got a black cable, but I would also expect that from a high end mouse pad.
Using it is a pleasant experience. My phone and AirPods are detected immediately. You have a rather large detection area for the AirPods. This helps as the AirPod charging area isn’t magnetic, and you may inadvertently bump the AirPods, bump the desk, and if it moves a little, you won’t risk losing out on perfect alignment. As for charging my iPhone, the magnet is very grippy, and there is usually some lift of the mat if I pull straight up. It does disconnect before the full weight of the mat is held, but it’s easier if you just angle it off and that’s easy to do.
Charging speeds are about what you would expect with the iPhone or AirPods. It’s not the most efficient way to charge your phone but it’s very convenient. And if your phone is just going to sit on the desk anyways, it might as well be charging.
All together, this is a great desk mat. I like the idea of it being reversible. Even if it’s just to change things up a bit, it’s nice to have options. Everything feels premium and well made, aside from the charge cable, and looks like it will hold up to the test of time. Easy to recommend.

Modern Desk Mat

-First Impressions-
I’ll admit, I hadn’t heard of the Australian born company, Journey, before using this product. However, I’m pleasantly surprised by the modern take on an otherwise stagnant part of every desk set-up. If I had to describe the ALTI wireless charging desk mat in one word, it’d be Classy.
-Design/Comfortability-
For starters, Journey uses high grade material, from the plush felt and vegan leather exterior, to the detachable magnetic charging module, you’ll instantly recognize the premium feel. Out of the four-color options to choose from, I chose black to fit my overall aesthetic preference. I favored the leather side for the easy cleaning a smooth surface, but switching to felt is as easy as flipping the mat over. I found it to be easy to glide my mouse on and sturdy enough to where it didn’t slide from day-to-day use.
-Features-
For a desk mat you wouldn’t think it to be feature-rich per say, but there’s more than meets the eye here. One in particular, dubbed the “hideaway” space, simply allows you to keep paperwork, notes, mail and other important documents out of sight and tucked neatly between the leather and felt outer layers. Perfect for keeping a neat workspace and/or decluttering. On the flip side, you can also arrange whether you’d like the charger on the left or right. Keep in mind the magnetic spine only works on one side of the mat for obvious reasons, so you can open and close the hideaway space at will. Or, you can forgo the uniformity all together and just place the charger elsewhere within reach, though that’s entirely your choice.
-Functionality/Overall Thoughts-
The main reason I was interested in the first place was for the included charging accessory. There are two spaces so you may charge a couple devices simultaneously like your iPhone and Air Pods, and a small white light indicator will pulse while charging. The convenience of setting down my peripherals to charge while I get work done or do some gaming is a welcome addition. Less wires means a cleaner and sleeker desk area. Overall, I’d recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their desk mat game and am happy to be a new Journey customer.

The Journey ALTI Wireless Charging Desk Mat does a lot. It can wirelessly charge two devices at once, and the charging pad can be placed for using either side of the mouse pads. It comes with a charging cable. The mouse pad has two sides that are hinged on one side and can be opened up. One side is vegan leather, and the other felt.
The charger is great. It has a USB-C connector. You can use the included cable to connect it to a charger of your choice. A light indicates it’s getting power. The top slot is a shallow detent and meant for headphones and watches. The bottom charging pad is raised and meant for phones. I was able to use both to charge devices at the same time using a phone and wireless earbuds. If there is an issue charging two items at once, the phone charger takes precedence. The charging pad can be used with the mouse pad as it magnetically connects to it. So, you can flip the mat to use either side or direction.
The mouse pad has two sides. On the vegan leather side, I tried several mice, and they all dragged on the surface. Not great for gaming. On the felt side the performance was better, but still not great. The mice rolled smoothly on the felt surface. Using either side the pad stayed in place. It’s a good size at ~28”x12”. You can put paper inside the two halves, but to much and interferes your mouse movement.
I’d give the charging dock 5 stars, but the mouse pad 3. So, 4 stars overall. The charger is great and be used with or without the mouse pad. Either side of the mouse pad is average, but the felt side lets your mouse glide better.

Beautiful charging mat - Unexpected color

I got the Journey ALTI wireless charging mat so I could charge both my phone and earbuds simultaneously, as I currently share a single wireless charger between the two. However, upon unboxing, I was surprised at the actual color, which seemed more of a stone grey/beige than the advertised “light grey”. Placing it on my white table top alongside a monochrome-ish setup, the mat stood out a little more than I would have liked. Yes, the mat can be flipped; however, the charger module cannot, as its only side is the beige-like leather.
That being said, there are some pros and cons that I felt was worth mentioning:
Pros:
-All around, the material feels good. Soft vegan leather on one side, and thick, flexible, cozy felt on the other.
-Helps reduce desk clutter with one cable/dual charger.
-Mouse works well on both sides without a mousepad.
-USB-C powered wireless charging is solid (15W for phone, 5W for wireless earbuds). The MagSafe magnet feels satisfying and secure when placing a phone on it.
-The two materials are separable on one end, where you can hide papers in between if you really need to.
-Typing over the mat feels padded and more quiet.
Cons:
-Mouse movement may feel limited depending on the size of the keyboard used. I use a full size keyboard (~17 inches) and placing the keyboard on the leftmost edge leaves me with just about an 8-9 inch space (left to right) for the mouse. It definitely feels like less. However, there seems to be a differently sized version of this mat which may be worth looking into.
-No charging brick; they only include a USB-C to USB-C cable.
-(May not bother most people, but) Since it was shipped rolled in a box and the leather/felt is separable on one end, the mat corners were uneven when placed on the desk because the felt side curled more. Overall though, it stays mostly flat right out of the box.
In the end, aside from the color of the leather, this desk mat—both aesthetic and functional—is worth considering for anyone looking to streamline their setup.

The leather looks and feels like good quality. The mat itself gives the computer desk a different and more prestigious look. The setup was easy right out of the box. The mat comes rolled and the charging pad is also included. The charging pad has to be continuously plugged in. It is not a pad where you have to charge first before charging devices. It has two charging areas one was designed for a phone and the other for small electronics like earbuds with wireless charging capabilities. Even though there is a dent in the pad for the earbuds, I had a little trouble finding the position to start the charging. As for the charging itself, it was pretty standard. The mat does not charge anything, the pad is the only thing that charges. The mat seems very durable as it is a double mat. The leather cover with a fabric mat underneath. The charging pad has a magnetic strip that attaches to the mat on the left side. Overall, this mat is a great addition to the computer desk. It adds style and prestige while charging your essential work tools. I recommend this product.

Like most other gamers, I've had the Large/XL mats like these with the purdy RGB and such. However, they don't last that long and get dirty pretty quickly and regularly. For this mat, I wanted something a little more cleaner looker without the RGB.
The mat itself is pretty nice. There is a top, plastic-like cover and the bottom is a felt material. They're connected so you could have either or as your desktop. The big thing with this mat though is the charging mat that attaches magnetically to the mat. Pretty nice little feature to have as it'll charge your iPhone as well as your Airpods simultaneously.
Not really sure the charging speed on this charging mat but it does a good job at charging. Not blindly fast but good enough to keep your phone battery charged up while you work ensuring you have plenty of juice when it's time to go. The charging mat attaches to the one side where the felt is however you have swap it around if you're left/right handed.
Pretty nice looking mat with great functionality. My only complaints are that the felt underside is pretty slick so the mat will move around a bit while you're working on it. That and I wish my desk wasn't so ugly as this mat is definitely something more minimalist looking. Might be time to get another desk.

This mat is a nice way to add a bit of elegance and function to your desk. The materials feel nice and are comfortable to use for extended periods. The desk mat also makes me want to help clear the clutter from my desk. You can pull up the leather top and slip paper or notes between the upper mat and the felt area below. The charging section of the mat works well too. Giving you a nice space to charge your phone and ear buds at the same time. The charge areas are easily identified too, with nicely indented or extruded sections. The phone charger is especially nice too, with its magnetic spot to set your phone. Even if it wasn't charging, it makes a nice and convenient place to keep your phone without it getting shuffled around on your desk. The charging section is also configurable, so you can you move it to the left or right of the mat. The mat is also easy to clean, which also helps my desk feel easier to maintain. The only minor issue I had using the charger was that sometimes I didn't quite get it set on the right area to charge.
Pros: Looks great, easy to clean, wireless charging and the dedicated spot for your devices not only looks nice, but is functional, able to place charger on either side of the mat
Cons: sometimes easy to miss the spot to put your phone for charging

I have had a phone charger at my desk for years now, but it was an older plain Qi type that got the job done when I needed it but was very basic. I certainly didn’t have a way to also charge my AirPods, and adding in a nice desk mat for surface protection and extra comfort is also much more enjoyable than I expected. The Journey ALTI wireless charging desk mat is a nice soft cover with a clean leatherette surface that is very spacious and has a MagSafe charger coupled with an AirPods charger magnetically attached to the side of the mat. It uses a double ended USB-C cable to hook up but does not include a power adapter, so you must supply that piece yourself. The mat itself is reversible, the opposite side being a plush compressed wool-like material, and the two sides are connected together on the magnetic side allowing you to lift one up to place papers in between them. I’m not sure that’s the intended purpose in that separation but I don’t see what else it could be for. The charging section can be used independently of the big mat if you so desire, and the MagSafe magnet is strong enough that you have to pry your phone off it to not pick up the whole piece with it but it does keep things where they should be. It charges well, I used my Apple 15W charger to power it, giving my phone a 20% boost and my AirPods case about 45% in a 30-minute span. Its not the fastest charger I own but it is good enough considering I will use it while at my computer doing other things and needing to top off my devices while I work or play. It is a nice brown but not as dark as I was hoping, however it does look good against my “black-brown” desk surface. I am pleased with the seamless look it gives my desk for charging my phone and AirPods and is a comfortable surface to type on while I work. I am happy to recommend it for anyone who has an iPhone and wants to add a touch of class to their workspace.

This mat has potential but falls short on delivery. When I received it, it was in a quality package so I was already really happy because there’s just something about a product that is in a really nice package that makes you think that it’s going to be good.
I was wrong.
This is made from vegan leather, which you can tell is substandard compared to genuine leather & the mat is not stitched properly so when it lays flat, the top mat does not sit square with the bottom felt.
The biggest drawback is that it doesn’t come with a power block…you have to supply a 20W block. At first, I didn’t think it was that big of a deal because I have USB-C ports on my computer and surge protector, however, this would not work with either and it requires its own charging block. You would think that with an item like this, they would supply a power block. Yes, power blocks are not that expensive and I can get one, but if you’re going to sell a product that requires power, you should probably supply the item to give it said power.

I bought this for my wife so that she could charge her phone and Airpods right at her desk. She loves the mat! The material feels nice and charging works as expected. One thing to note, if you are a full keyboard user, this might not be for you. She uses a mini keyboard and Apple mouse. It fits those perfectly.

The fact that it’s basically unusable when the felt side is down because it slides around too much is a problem. It should have some sort of grips so it cannot move. I know this defeats the purpose of it being reversible, but what’s the point if you can only use it on one side?
