Bought this since my utility company won't allow other chargers for off-peak rates.
Really bad. Horrible app and interface. And sometimes just doesn't even charge the car with the built-in scheduling.

Had an installer lined up, and when opening the box, found that it was not a new unit (scratches, nicks). Disappointed that we were sold a used or open box item.

This charger had a substantial rebate in place with our local electrical utility, and put out the amperage to charge our car quickly. The app is easy to use, and there's been no problem with install or compatibility. The long cord is particularly useful - we've had this over a year and it's great. Looks better than a Chargepoint, more versatile than a Tesla charger.

It’s a must if you want an electric vehicle.

I adore my juice box. I purchased a VW iD4 and wanted to get the level 2 charger installed at my house sindd CD w the charger it comes with only adds 6-7 miles per hour. The juice box was super easy to install and my favorite feature is the long cord—I don’t know why electric cars still have the charging on the rear of the vehicle—who backs in to their garage?! I mounted the cord in the wall of the garage with plastic hooks so it stays off the ground. It charges my vehicle every night, and the app makes it really easy to make adjustments—in my area, electricity prices drop after 8pm so I have the juice box set up to start charging at 8pm. It’s made owning an electric car so much easier!

I purchased this right after I ordered my VW ID.4 EV. It was super simple to install, you want to make sure if you're adding an outlet that the electrician orients the outlet correctly. I love it! Charges quicker than other Level 2 chargers. I did have trouble with it dropping wifi but I purchased a couple of wifi satellites to increase my range and that problem went away. I especially love that it is portable, so when I move I can take it with me.

We get a charge out of this!

An attractive, affordable unit that can be plugged into a 240 volt receptacle, this charges our car quickly. We got the plug-in model because we figured if we ever rent a place for vacation, we can ask if it has a dryer plug--and bring the charger with us if it does!
The fact that we can get a tax credit towards the cost is a bonus.
The light-up bar tells us at a glance what it's doing (or not), and the Bluetooth connection emails us when the charging is done. And the cord is long enough to charge the car in the driveway if I have a project taking up space i n the garage.

L2 charger with a brain

This is an L2 charger. There are a good number of other L2 chargers out there and when hooked up to this it will charge just as fast as any other brand L2 charger that can supply up to 40A on 240v. They're all somewhere around the same price as well with maybe a $50 variance plus or minus. On a $600+ purchase that's not a game-changer.
What is a game-changer is the smarts built in. You get a dashboard so you can watch how much power is flowing through it, get logs and graphs and the like, or have it only charge when the price of power becomes cheap at night and stuff like that. They have an optional feature where if will only charge your car based upon how "green" the power mix of the grid is.
Yes your car might give you some of these features but not all. It also does all this regardless of what car it is, or even if the car is yours. If your friend comes over you they can plug in and all the same features are active because they're build into the charger and not depending on the car to have them.
Another major feature and the reason I bought these is because they'll negotiate with each other for power sharing. You might think you're only buying one one these but if you have multiple cars in the house and you have just one EV right now you'll eventually have one of these things per parking spot. An EV charging can soak up a lot of power and that may overrun your breaker panel capacity, or maybe you have just one wiring run but you want to somehow hang two chargers off the same wire. You can do that with these. They can negotiate with each other for how much current to draw.
Say you have one car charging but two chargers on the same wire run. You come plug in a second one and the permitted draw will get split. The first car finished charging and then the second one ramps up to the full power draw. This split is highly configurable as you can have load groups nested within load groups like if you have some in a sub-panel. Any reasonable configuration can be made to work with these things.
Lastly, they provide an API so your home automation can poke at it. This lets you do stuff like if the grid goes down and you have storage then you can curtail charging if the household storage goes below a certain limit. Yes, if you have all Tesla everywhere you can do that too, but this lets you do it across brands.
They'll also pair with Alexa and Google Home.
Oh, and the handle is robust metal and not some chintzy plastic like a lot of other brands. It looks white and it's nicely painted but if you scrape it you'll see it's metal underneath. Made in USA.
(Technically it's an EVSE, as the charger is internal to your car while this only supplies energy... nobody cares just call it a charger because everybody else does)
