I didn’t have high expectations going into it given the cynical nature of online movie critics and The Wachowski’s critical and\or commercial failures with the two Matrix sequels in the past, but I must admit this film was pretty awesome in terms of science fiction movies, once I could see past the green screen flying chase scenes and the suspension of disbelief set in. I was also worried that since Mila Kunis is the lead actress, they were going to turn it into some kind of romcom in space, but instead after viewing it I would describe it as Game of Thrones meets Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy. Nowadays it’s hard for me to be impressed by the average medium, but science fiction does manage to pique my interest somewhat. The film actually has some amazing CGI effects even if the plot is cliché and trope-filled at times.

Wachowski delivered and freaked us up with Cloud Atlas, V for Vendetta and Matrix. Brain explosion was meant for Jupiter Ascending as well, but it takes a while... There is enough information to process (not as refined and compressed as other work of the infamous cult brothers), as Wackowski we are talking about. But no, not even faux russian diaspora life can distract you from asking these questions.

It is a good movie. The creators made clear about the race that controls the solar system - (The annunakis with other name) y other races that help in this process - Reptilians and greys. It looks like sfi, but it is in reality the best way to tell the true hiding it. Once, you tell to someone about reptilians and annunakis, most people would think "Oh I saw it in a movie"

This movie is not really as bad as I had heard. I watched it over the weekend and enjoyed it enough that I recommended it to a friend. The acting isn't bad and I had no issue suspending my disbelief. If I had any issue with this movie, it would be that it needed another 30 minutes for more character building and background stories. I guess wanting to see MORE of the movie means I liked it.

This movie is simply made for 4K. I can't say it enough. It looks mind-blowing in HDR. My jaw was dropping. Even in the deep black scenes I could see every detail. The creators of The Matrix didn't hit their creative zenith with this film like their earlier film but its arguably more beautiful. Still recommended. Especially if you have OLED HDR (4K or even just 4K HDR).

Suppose you find out that the earth is just a garden planted by aliens and they are ready to harvest! Only what they harvest are the people. Jupiter Jones finds out she is the owner of the earth. The story revolves around a family's infighting for control with a human hybrid (Channing Tatum) trying to save the day. Not a fantastic movie but very fun to watch.

I picked it up because I like really busy popcorn movies even though it bombed theatrically. But it was a lot of fun when I saw it in the theater...just set your expectations down a little and let the weirdness and fun play itself.

No, it is not the Matrix. Nor was it meant to be. If you like straight out space opera adventure with incredible special effects made even more brilliant in 4K, then this movie is for you. If you enjoy what the Wachowski's do and how they do it, this film is for you. If you are looking for the Matrix or a sci-fi thriller, this is not for you.

I didn't hear too many good things about this movie when it was in the theaters, but I decided to by it anyway because I like SciFi's. If you like other movies in this genre then you will enjoy this one too. This movie doesn't have a deep story line but I felt it was entertaining and that is what I was looking for....kept me engaged through the hole movie.

Not the best movie out there, but not bad either. I purchased it for $10 at Best Buy because it is 3d. I enjoyed the movie, along with the 3d. As a matter of fact, I was very impressed with the 3d. I think that it was well done. I think that someone looking for a movie that should be seen in 3d, it would be this one.

This was a 3D upgrade for me. The story is about a group of alien gods who owned the earth and an unknown Russian / American Mila Kunis who turned out to be an unknown princess who saves the fate of the earth. Channing Tatum is her guardian and help her save the day. The 3D adds a lot to the look of a rather dragged out story.

Excellent graphic's. Had to play the movie twice to get the real meaning of the plot. The first viewing left one guessing what was going on but needed the second viewing to pick up the real meaning and it made it more enjoyable. Looking forward to the third viewing to catch things I missed in the first two. Totally enjoyed the graphic's in outer space.

Interesting story about a race of human like people using earth humans to make a fountain of youth serum so they can live forever. Jupiter is distant owner of planet earth and in end gets help saving mankind from a solider from the distant world where her ancestors reside. Ancestors want to get Jupiter so they can harvest mankind on earth. Entertains.

Visually this movie is stunning. The costumes, makeup and sets are very well done and even the CGI isn't overdone. The story is a little lacking and I wish they would have gone into more detail on a few characters and their story but overall it was good and entertaining. Plus Mila and Channing are both very nice to look at which doesn't hurt.

Not only does this movie have some of the most interesting technological designs I have ever seen it also serves as a medium for some very thought provoking ideas that could prove frighteningly possible in the future if not already possible as they are in the movies storyline, such as the farming of sentient civilizations to the fact that esoteric ideas such as reincarnation and astrology may also have a true possibility in natural genetics itself. All in all the Wachowskis of the Matrix movies have created another that pushes the boundary of imagination and at the same time manages to hold a very human side to it. I hope that they make sequel or two.

Jupiter Ascending movie is must watch in 3d than in 2d version.

This is from the people who made the matrix film series..soooo that means story is not the greatest..sometimes confusing, but deep. The main part of the movie that counts with them is the amazing special effects, so really awesome, great sound too...always something popping out at you or in the distant background, great use of 3d!

I love wachowski films and interpretations. The story lacks in some ways, but the overall message and thought provoking world brought to this film make it with watching. Looks past the corny aspect of the film...it is science fiction...and enjoy a look at life unlike the everyday. Not perfect...but enjoyable and worth a watch.

I gave this movie a try because even though the Wachowskis don't always hit it out of the park at least they try. While this movie doesn't have quite the bang of the Matrix it does have outrageously good special effects and Mila Kunis does a pretty good job as our heroine. Give it a try, and crank up the 7.1 and sub woofer

My husband & I love action movies and usually buy the DVDs if they get good reviews. This had a lot of action scenes & special effects through out the movie! We bought it in 3D which made the special effects over the top! The acting was Good! The story was Good too! A really fun movie to watch with the family and friends!
