The special effects in this film were great. The plot was very interesting. the background sub-plots were fantastic. But most of the film seemed to focus around who the lead character would marry/ hook up with. This film could have been so much more if they had gone into more depth and fleshed out these sub-plots more.

Didn't get around to seeing this movie when it was showing at the movie theaters, but am a fan of sci-fi: good special effects, good actors (Mila Kunis & Channing Tatum) - reminded me a little of the original Dune movie. Would recommend to anyone that likes sci-fi/fantasy/action movies, with a little romance thrown in.

Saw this film in the theater and could not wait to own it. The special effects are great. The story is deep and makes you think. The romance sub-plot is thinly developed but the rest of the plot is well done. The bad rap this film faced from the beginning was not deserved. Not all films have to be works of art. Sometimes you just want 2 hours of fun and excitement. I rarely agree with film critics and always make my own decisions. Any screen play can be picked apart if you try hard enough. If you enjoy sifi movies that are big stories with likeable lead characters, plenty of action, and great special effects, you will like this one.

I saw this movie at the theater when it first came out and thoroughly enjoyed it. Later I saw that the internet decided this was a terrible movie. It's certainly not on my top ten list but it's a fun watch.

I admit that I purchased this movie with low expectations, especially given other reviews. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the 3D was great. It kept my interest and I was satisfied with the ending. Not the best Sci-Fi ever made, but it has a lot of action, intriguing plot and decent acting and direction.

This movie is in no way a blockbuster. But it is a fun movie. Has a bit of a different feel to it than most sci-fi movies. I think that this can be credited to the fact it is adapted from a rock opera. Don't worry it's not a musical. There are some beautiful visuals and scenery. And then there's Mila Kunis.

Movie concept was good and out of the box. Special effects were good as well. Would have liked to see more action and special effects considering the technology today. A better ending as well could have been incorporated for a potential sequal would have been nice. Would recommend it for a evening at home.

Heroine is not typical and villains have depth and warped. Ships and gear are unique. Ships are composites held together by energy planes. Elite own planets and their people which are harvested for life force liquid to prolog the elite's life by bathing in it. Bureaucracy is as bad as ever. Different.

My son and I watched this movie the other night and both of us thought it was pretty good. The special effects were awesome! There were a few spots in the movie that were kind of slow, but for the most part it was action filled and both main actors did a good job of acting their respective parts.

Good movie, like that the space-ships looked like sea-creatures,some good new visuals, like the oxygen-bubble space suit, the boots, great very cool,the war hammer scene reminds me of the matrix movie, spaceships coming up out of the gas cloud star trek wrath of khan, story line good.

Jupiter Ascending was a move I kinda kept my distance. I never expected the twists with the plot & such beautfuly rendered effects. I found it rather refreshing to the rehashing of the "Beauty and the Beast" lore mixed with a bit of the "lost heir to the kingdom", & Cinderella stories.

After reading reviews of the movie I was not considering this movie for the collection, but the wife was watching it during a free broadcast from one of the movie channels and said it was good. I was not disappointed with the film, it is very watchable and worth the money.

I first saw this movie on cable. When it came out in 4K UHD I had to buy it. The CGI is amazing and the sound is fantastic! I am watching this on a LG 2019 65" with a Nakamichi Soundwafe 9.2.4 1000 watt surround system. This combo will blow you away with anything you watch. A lot of people dismiss this movie - bad acting etc. but for a futuristic sci-fi movie, give it a chance. The graphics alone are worth a look.

The story line was very interesting, and it took a bit to determine how this human was linked to cosmic royalty. The bottom line was genetics and a precise DNA match... It's a bit confusing at first as you try to figure out all the players, but has some good action scenes.

We really enjoyed this movie. The story was good and the visual effects are fantastic. If you have a good home theater this is a great addition to the collection that will be great to see more then once.

I have seen and enjoyed this film in 2D and now have purchased and viewed it in 3D. I am really a fan of Blu-ray 3D films and am pleased to add "Jupiter Ascending" to my collection. The action is continuous in the film and the CGI effects (especially in 3D) are very good. The story held my attention, the acting was good, and the 3D added good depth enhancement to the film. I recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a space film with plenty of action, a good storyline, and excellent 3D effects.

We knew a lot of money was used to produce this movie, but somehow there was something still missing or unsatisfactory at the end of the story. Not really sure what was missing. Could have been too close to Cinderella trying to emulate Star Wars, but it just could not pull it off. Channing Tatum was ok but he was not Harrison Ford. Mila Kunis was closer to Cinderella than Carrie Fisher. Lots of special effects, but it was the main story that lacked sustainability. After watching it the first time, there was no urge to watch it again, like in Star Wars. The problem was you could take it or leave it, which is not a good sign for making a second episode. Save your money and invest in the new Star Wars if you have a chance.

This movie had a little bit of everything in it. It had love, action, treachery, deceit. It kind of reminded me a little bit of Dune. The special effects were great. The actors did a marvelous job. It could be a little hokey at times but overall it was a great movie.

While this is not a perfect film, it is an ambitious one - but what Wachowski film isn't? While this does not quite have the mind-bending scope of, say, Matrix or Cloud Atlas, the visuals are fantastic and it is a fairly easily accessible big sci-fi blowout. See it.

I am a big fan of their work and think they have vision and are under appreciated in Hollywood. Had a friend watch this with me and they though it was weird. So I say it doesn't hurt if you appreciate their other works. I do wish it had more special features though.
